NXT has leaned into urban culture in a big way and it is working. HBK talked about it when Sexy Red was on there. Younger fans respond to urban culture, and NXT is giving it to them. HBK knows talent and he knows how to get people over and know what does and doesn't work. So he is playing into the talents strengths and hiding the weaknesses whatever they are for each and playing into pop culture at the same time as WWE has always done. Trick is undeniable and happens to be black too. So that gives the black community a big time star to look up to. But a talent just being black and running with pushing tons of black stars isn't gonna work unless the talent in question is truly over enough to be in those spots. Which in NXTs case everyone getting the push is very deserving of it. Just pushing tons of Black talent in general wont matter if they aren't over. For example No way jose from some years back. AEW has been on a steady decline for a while now.. They've exhausted all their alleged 'dream matches'. Their alleged game changers have turned out to be channel changers. They've run out of excuses. Shane McMahon is their apparent new saviour but TK will find a way to ruin him after a week or two.
NXT is cool not due to the race but because the champions matter. These guys are competitive making their titles matter. There are stories behind the wrestlers. NXT isn't booming because of "black" people, it's booming because of good wrestling, and wrestlers, along with amazing story telling. This is the second video of you pushing this narrative, and before you use the racism card, I'm black myself. If this video was in reverse it would be looked at in a horrible light. Yes I'm proud of the black representation on NXT, but that isn't the only good thing about it.
NXT has leaned into urban culture in a big way and it is working. HBK talked about it when Sexy Red was on there. Younger fans respond to urban culture, and NXT is giving it to them. They wanted to get the demo younger and i's working. Now if you want to tell me that HBK is "pushing this narrative", you might want to take it up with him.
I'm from the Caribbean and Urban culture should be treated very carefully. Because a lot of it is NOT positive. And evidently, there's some level of pushing a "supremacy" narrative here as well.

@@dskillzhtown Its not that they are pushing any narrative or doing it for the sake of it. Everyone NXT is pushing is legit over and has the it factor that makes someone a wrestling star. HBK knows talent and he knows how to get people over and know what does and doesn't work. So he is playing into the talents strengths and hiding the weaknesses whatever they are for each and playing into pop culture at the same time as WWE has always done. Trick is undeniable and happens to be black too. So that gives the black community a big time star to look up to. But a talent just being black and running with pushing tons of black stars isn't gonna work unless the talent in question is truly over enough to be in those spots. Which in NXTs case everyone getting the push is very deserving of it. Just pushing tons of Black talent in general wont matter if they aren't over. For example No way jose from some years back. He was a goofy gimmick meant for lulz and was never rally over. But someone like Trick absolutely. He should be the spotlight because he has the charisma of top stars. And you can't teach that. you have it or you don't. Good story telling and booking of the narrative flow of the story arcs is what makes wrestling work. The race of the talent is overall irrelevant in that aspect. If a guy or girl has the talent and is over they should be pushed in they spots they deserve to hold. And NXT is doing that. And for the most part so is the main roster. AEW i could half ass a better show then they do myself. but you are right. Younger fans have always been more into the hip pop culture of the day. That is what the NWO did back in the 90s. But if you book it wrong it wont work either. No matter what it has to be done right or it wont matter.

AEW has been on a steady decline for a while now.. They've exhausted all their alleged 'dream matches'. Their alleged game changers have turned out to be channel changers. They've run out of excuses. Shane McMahon is their apparent new saviour but TK will find a way to ruin him after a week or two.
NXT is cool not due to the race but because the champions matter. These guys are competitive making their titles matter. There are stories behind the wrestlers. AEW has no stories too many blotches and really lack actual reality in selling. Fact you get dropped three times on your head and only stay down after a girly punch? That’s a Melzer five star match, not a Kurt Angle / Bret Heart match, a Young Buck only selling to girly punches, not slams, DDT or Stunners or even knock your socks off beast punch, only girly punches given and sold by the YoungBucks.
