The MRAP rear failure wasn't in the field, it was during Qual testing/Destructive testing for the vehicle. Hard break checks are required in order for the TV to move on or to ensure a spec is being met.
Airforce is just the Army with a bigger budget, better living standards, and just flat out don't hate themselves. If you hate yourself you join the Army. If you hate anything living including yourself join the the Marines.

He test piloted the first stealth fighter plane and ran a platoon(?) In the gulf war they nicknamed Sandy's Shooter's. They just had a reunion he couldnt make it to in Vegas.

We do the submerged helicopter crash training in the pool just like that in the oil field. You have to go through that class before they’ll let you fly a helicopter to go offshore.
