Choking a diesel to get fuel after running out isn’t going to do anything. Use the hand primer on top of the filter. Or if you have a lift pump, let that run for a few minutes.

Dude, you lost me on the whole "restricting your intake increase the fuel". I'd think it would sense minimal air flow through the intake and adjust the fuel to keep from getting to rich.

Please understand I’m not downing people by but I’m telling you from 43 years of experience on diesel engines 99% of big trucks run any in line 6 cylinder these Duramax engines are short Lived no matter what you guys say that’s what they’re known for is head gaskets there Japanese made and they have never held up over 300,000 without major head work sorry it’s a nice truck I hope you get it fixed

i think the duramax is a good engine but GM kills it with not enough air and the exhaust manifolds are way to close to the block, knowing these problems i am surprised he did not check for pressure in the rad? that is confusing why buy a truck that looks goods only? With those miles on it that is the first thing i would check... If you rebuild it ? CHANGE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD and get more air into the engine area. The reason Banks is so successful is because he understands flow> air and fluid
I have the faulty cp4 pump and I freak TF out if im under 1/2 tank lol but I add some hotshot for lubricity and Im at 190,000 miles hope my cp4 doesnt ever go....... Wish me luck yall!!!

I was just going to budget for it just for assurance and from there; the lly should be solid from what I've researched?
It's ok if you tell someone something is wrong with the vehicle. But to sell a vehicle knowing something is wrong with it but not telling the person is messed up. I'd sit outside of their business with a huge lemon sign.

Do these things trucks ever have block issues or is it almost always the headgaskets? I worked with a guy who had one, he did headgaskets, studs, full egr delete - within two years started having issues again - that being said his was tuned and the power level was turned up. He unloaded it onto someone else (because he was a POS like that...)

Spray the truck down with water and baking soda. That'll neutralize the salt. It'll turn brown, and fall off all on its own. Hope that helps you.

But the wonderful relationship between you and your wife, your family, the guys at Ryan's and Kodiak and thier character, and your faith. It speaks volumes about you. Don't slow down for others to catch up, just make them speed up. Stay true to yourself. And above all.... spend some TLC time back on the Wifemax !! All the other projects are great looking forward to seeing what's next for the Cummins. Be nice to see you obtain another Duramax project. But the Wifemax needs to be bumped up in line some lol...
