St. Jello it usually runs around 175 when I’m not towing but I also did install a bigger trans cooler it goes up to maybe 190 when I’m towing real heavy loads
That’s a tough one to really pick I drive a 03 7.3 powerstroke. I need a new turbo I blew mine up but there not a turbo out there that sound sick as a 03 6.0 powerstroke 10vane turbo. But power wise on weather towing or drag or street racing that’s tough to choose.
I dunno, the titan xd on a straight pipe sound amazing! I love the sound of the 6.0 but when I deleted my titan xd the turbo sound was freaking crazy! I'll give the 6.0 a close 2nd on the turbo sound, everyone else is very distant. The Cummins 5.0 in the XD sounds like a cross between a 6.0 and a duramax, turbo more inline with the 6.0 sound as far as the turbo, engine exhaust more inline with the duramax, and it revs to 4,000rpm. Although mine is del3t3d, its not as powerful or as quick as the larger diesels in the domestic 3/4 tons that are running tunes, but it does pretty decent. I think if Nissan could have kept this truck heavier than a half ton but lighter than a 3/4 ton it would be better, but it weighs over 7,000lbs, so it has the same stability as a 3/4 ton and tows surprisingly well considering the lower power ratings. I love mine, and unlike the duramax and powerstroke v8, this cummins v8 is very easy to work on. Labor charges will be super cheap because there's tons of room and everything is very easy to access.
Fwiw, inline exhaust brakes are far more reliable than the actuator in a HE351VE, which is what's responsible for the "exhaust braking" in a Cummins. These actuators are expensive, have a limited lifespan, and require Cummins INSITE software, a Snap-On tool, or equivalent device to calibrate them _to_ the turbo - you can't just bolt them on and expect the turbo to function properly... it wont! Additionally, an inline EB applies much more braking force as compared to what a VGT can do. Really, there's no good reason to keep the VGT, modified or not, when you account for the higher EGTs, higher drive pressure, higher cost, more complexity, less reliability, and less power potential they have when compared to a properly sized fixed vane like something from the Borg Warner S300SX-E lineup.
I’ve had zero problems from mine. It’s a 2010 with almost 207k miles. I’ve always heard it’s best to run the exhaust break all the time so I do, maybe I’m just lucky but that’s my experience with them

If you're talking about the gargle/bark at higher rpms its the heui injector design fires off of high pressure oil and the injector pressurizes the fuel into the combustion chamber.
I see the ACDelco banner on the wall, is that the oil you would suggest running? As opposed to Amsoil or Delvac? I've used all 3 but have not had my oil tested to see which performs best. Any thoughts would be awesome!
I have a 2019 f350 that tows 18000 pounds on a 5th wheel. If I drive 65mph uphill my turbo overheats and I can only go 55mph floored and the engine brake won’t turn on unless I let the truck cool down for an hour
me and my buddy both have 6.7 Cummins '07. both stock turbo, both stock airbox, 50hp EFILive tunes on both... his turbo whistle is hella-loud.. we have no idea why. Thoughts?
There's a reason why just the sound of a cummins stands out from the rest. Powerstroke and Duramax "fans" know it. A V8 diesel is hard for me to comprehend. It's a diesel fueled chevy 350 or a 351 windsor in my eyes. And.... let's be honest, they sound similar. Old school glass packs or straight piped. A V8 is a V8.
I have a 2004.5 LLY that has quicker throttle response than my 2007 LBZ. Is it because the LLY has more compression and a bigger turbo or is it just the way GM changed the programming by 2007? Both truck are nearly identical, other than the year differences.

Duramax for sure
You've got me considering getting a full hsp piping kit. I'm running efi live dsp5, if I install the kit do I need retuned? Or get on of these turbos then I need retuned as well? I'm itching to do some mods but not knowing if I need retuned is holding me back. Thanks for all the informative videos. God bless!
You dont need to retune with piping but yes you need to retune with bigger turbo
@@wesmeek2656 thanks
I would highly recommend a retune with a bigger turbo but not so much with the hsp kit. Also my coupon code truckmaster is still good on the hsp site for you
@@TruckMaster alright thanks truck master. You da man
What would it run to do 7.3 95 Turbo and upgrade
Nice win Brandon 🤘
hi tm, i just got a p0046 code on my lly 2005. it says boost control solenoid> will this hurt the truck to drive it like that?
This is pretty off topic but does anyone know if a fuel pressure gauge and tap in for a LB7 work on a LBZ engine?
Cool brother im love cunmings lb7 nice all good truks lmn souds good
My 7.tree with Garrett turbo has 800k on original
Matt Vanatti that is impressive. Need to hear about your own truck then.
I wonder how much to modify a stock LLY turbo 🤔
