Gugu Mbatha-Raw is a beautiful, charismatic, and talented actress of stage, screen, and tv with an impressive resume. On top of that, she has a history with Sam Ried, who has palpable on-screen chemistry, which makes transitioning more seamless and agreeable. Can you imagine them both together as Akasha and Lestat?
@AllGreyEverything Well, they said the same thing about these actors before shooting ever began. Including Delainey Hayles when replacing Bailey Bass as Claudia for Season 2, and she blew it right out of the water.
I can't wait to see your ranking of season 1. For me, epsiode 5 blew me away. I think it was the best episode of the season, and top 3 of the series thus far.
I like how simple it seems. From the... production side? I know nothing about making television. But the last ep was at the end of the day just a few dudes mugging at the camera. And it was beyond fantastic! ;DD
I love your channel! Love that you get upset all through it! Love the adaption of the books ! But in the book this is based on Claudia is 5 years old. You can see why other grown vampires would be upset more than a tween. But I see why it was written this way. Claudia needed a mother and that why she wanted a partner not a lover her body never evolved this way in the book and you can’t put an actor these days to represent her. But the horror of her death they did well. But imagine the death of a small child it’s even more horrific
I've seen photos of Bailey (the actress who plays Claudia in season 1) as a child and it's like imagine THAT being the actual claudia.. heartbreaking! Thank you for your kind comment!
episode 1 yes they were in Transilvania, Romania. as a romanian that episode was... interesting. the actors (except for the ones that were actually romanian) really tried to speak the language and i love them for that (and obviously in the show louis and claudia don't actually know it either), but it was just 😭. i know romanian has some sounds that are hard to pronounce, but i just could not with that episode... it was uncanny hearing my own language there💀
also idk if anyone would care but i found this interesting: when the old woman vampire says "we own the night, yes?", the actual translation to me is different from what i think louis wanted to imply at the end of the season. the way she phrases that is more like a "we have all night, don't we?", which i personally just take at face value (it is early n the night so we have a lot of time left), something a human could say as well. in comparison, i feel like when louis says it, it's more about asserting his power as a vampire, if that makes sense. idk if the difference was intentional or if i am reading too much into it, but since you pointed it out it made me wonder
Episode 5 made me leave my body. I got back to it just in time for episode 8 to eject me again. This show is incredible!
@@AllGreyEverything HAHA YES!!! Constantly being thrown around like it’s the loustat fight

@@fortelewisandrew2426 I love her!!! Belle is one of my favorite films! That’s such a good casting idea!!!
I love her too. My only hesitation is that I'm not sure I see her as that menacing. She has such a kindness and fragility about her.
@@AllGreyEverything true- could be an interesting challenge!
