    Great info, looks great! Glad you are pleased with the product and price seems very reasonable I think. Interesting to see it painted and maybe a second review! 🙂

    Those pieces look great and $45 sounds like a bargain! Very cool for you to get someone to exchange some screen time for products that you need for the layout. Sounds like a win-win to me.

      Agreed! I'm going to get them cleaned up and painted in time for my next update video so everyone can see what they look like with their "Sunday best" on.

    Great looking models. The twin tanks with pipes probably would go on the outside of the gantry, and the pipework goes to the top of the taller tank. Keep on with the K & W.

      @@lindsayatlmrtransport8118 John sent me a photo of the prototype after I posted the video to show me how it was supposed to look. I couldn't make it fit that way initially for the video because I needed to remove some excess material first.

    As I am looking at it, you pointed out the space between the parts and the base as a bad thing, I wonder if it would actually work better as you would just add your substrait to that level depending on your modeling style.

      @@foxtrotdeltausn4757 Several others have suggested that strategy as well so it must be a good idea!

      I think that just became a thing! LOL! Hopefully I don't end up painting it pink or orange or something...LOL.

    The first thing I noticed was the date was wrong on the recording.. it says... 2023/05/29 so are we time travelling ?? lol.. also the camera is slightly out of focus it is focused on the switch and draws beside your left hand... I 3d print some stuff for my layout and other items around the house but they are not resin prints they are FDM prints. Resin prints tend to capture a lot more detail but the curing process is costly compared to FDM where you print it and then use it or remove it from the base needed to help it stick to the bed when printing layers upward... The cactus could be used in the Royal Gorge area with a few more of them... Most of the items on the website look very similar to items anyone can download for free from various 3d print sites and print with their own 3d printer of either FDM or resin... Some of them I have already downloaded the files and have stored ready to print when I get to the scenery phase of my layout witch will be minimal. The prices seem ok.

      Oh wow...I didn't notice the date! Unfortunately no, we are not time traveling. 😢 I will try to do better with the focus next time, it was my first time using that camera and I couldn't even find the zoom! (found it after the recording). I had looked in to getting my own 3D printer at one point but decided it wasn't for me. I wasn't aware of the availability of free-to-download files (one of the reasons why I decided not to get my own printer), but the owner tells me he is generating his own designs all the time and simply needs time to add them to the website. Not having any experience shopping/buying/using 3D printed models, I am really starting from scratch with all of this, but I'm impressed so far. Thanks for sharing!

    Thanks for the review. It looks like a good product and company. I appreciate the integrity of purchasing your own but I don’t believe that anyone, in the future, would think it was a biased review if you were to have accepted the products but I understand that it was a first for the channel.

      @@derekalexander4030 I probably won't make a habit of buying my first product from other companies that may want me to promote their stuff, if it ever even happens again. I enjoyed doing the review though and would do others if asked. I look forward to showing the final painted product. I already cleaned off all the excess material which was much easier than I thought it would be, now I just have to paint it.

      @@KandWRailroader Jim Tedesco does a live show and has multiple printers and does a lot of printing at very reasonable prices for other modelers. I looked at some of his tank cars that he printed and it appears that the lines are inherent in 3d printers but not in resin printing. Some people sand the lines and others use fillers. He changed the tank cars by using pvc tubing and then printing the ends and details separately.

    • @KandWRailroader
      @KandWRailroader  4 дня назад

      @@derekalexander4030 That's interesting. I chose not to worry about the lines and see what a coat of flaf black does to them. It would be difficult to send with all the details around the tanks anyway. We'll see how it turns out.
