THE PARTS MAN PRAYER I work behind the counter In an auto parts store Sometimes I'm called a genius Sometimes I'm called much more. I say I'm no mechanic But when their job goes sick Everyone comes in and asks me What makes the damn thing tick. I'm supposed to know the number Of nuts and bolts and gears For every machine ever made For more than a hundred years. I'm supposed to have the answer For everything unknown To every Tom, Dick, and Harry For all their questions thrown. My life would be a pleasure And I'd grin from ear to ear If only they would tell me Their Model, Make, Year !
Hello Lyle, I just purchased my first Corvette yesterday! Black 2004 C5 Corvette Z06 38000 miles 100% Factory Stock!!!! Thanks to your info, I was able to make a sound decision, love the channel Keep the C5 Alive
You are the only business like yours that I have seen take the time to produce a tutorial on how to make everybody's ordering experience better. Complete with managing all expectations in a balanced fashion, on top of it. Excellent.
I’m thankful for what you offer the Corvette community your knowledge is second to none asking people to be respectful of your time when you are so willing to give it away should be a no brainer but I know that’s not the case. I emailed you a question you answered it quickly. All of us should be extremely thankful for these videos I know I am. Thank you Lyle.
Well said! When I attend our local Corvette car show events. I'll ask if they have watched any of C/S RUclips videos. I seem to get a Yea, and a surprised look from C-6 on down owners. C 8 and C7 owners are usually going to a dealer with any issues they have. Being lowly C-4 owner, I can attest to the Kindness and Help Lyle has given me. I'm on the west coast! YUP Big THANKS to Lyle and all the folks at C/S corvette!
Thank you, good video I'm a newer corvette owner (1994) and your videos have taught me a lot. I'll probably be calling you soon (instrument cluster issues) and I'll make sure not to do the things you said not to :)
I got to visit the Corvette museum Friday in Bowling Green Ky. What a blast. There were people therefrom all over the Country. And a couple of folks picked up and drove away with their new Corvettes. Impressive.
Love your videos as last year I bought my first Corvette ( '12 GS convertible )...Your tip about returning the top release back to its cradle before putting the top down was primo! Thanks again!
Loved your example of how you'd like to receive photos of a part we're looking for, especially when you demonstrated the power window switch when you flipped it over showing the number of connector pins that it had. That many times is something we forget to do. I also like your description of right vs. left. I've always played it safe and referred to "Driver side" and "Passenger side" to eliminate any question on that subject. And last but not least, I love your conversation with a "good ole boy." At that point I think I'd be pulling my hair out. Obviously, that might explain why you no longer have any hair to comb. 😉 FWIW, not all guys can pull off the bald, but I must say it suits you. 👍👍 In closing, I really, really wanted to meet you at Carlisle, and I've had my reservations that I made last year when I was checking out. Only yesterday I had to cancel same for medical reasons. This will be the first time in eleven years that I won't be at this event. Drive safe and enjoy every minute of your stay and I look forward to your videos once you've returned home. Save the Wave 🙋♂ P.S. Do you ever want your subscribers to submit photos to you of the Corvettes they own?.
You’re the best. Informative and patient. Up north where I live never had I met someone with those two qualities. I frequent the Chevy dealer because they’re straight forward and the Corvette mechanics are up to date knowledgeable. Add expensive to that but that’s the trade off. Lots of Corvettes up here on Long Island. Love to see a C&S Corvettes shop open close by. 😀
I just love the basic explanation for everyone now i get ti the point real quick but not everyone is i heard stories at work too and its like com onnnn haha another good video 👍
Hey young man ….Excellent video 👍 One person you imitated must be related to my ex wife ..zzzzz . Have a great time at Carlisle…and when you get back and settled back in I’ll have a question for you about my C3 ….PS ..it’s yellow 😁
Question! I'm the 3rd owner of a 96 Corvette with an LT1 engine. It runs very well. It has 152K on it and doesn't use oil. Carfax shows only typical maintenance and no issues. I'm 81 years old and like to just take it out once a week for a long drive. What kind of life expectancy should I expect from the engine and transmission.
Tom, I don't do much in the way of performance upgrades to C7's yet. I don't have a favorite manufacturer to recommend. Maybe give Lingenfelter a call for their thoughts? Lyle
That is usually the safer way to do it, but most folks still say "right" or "left" and then we have to clarify it. Glad you are already on board with the correct terminology! Lyle :)
My 1998 c5 bases DIC is working intermittently until locking me out of the buttons! Flashing back from km to mph. From research it seems it could be a bad solder somewhere in the cluster, any opinions, or suggestions? Thank you!
Oooh, that would be even more confusing here in Florida...where our state animal is a 58 year old man with ponytail and flip-flops riding a bicycle (to the bar, at 10 am) after his 23rd DUI....:) Lyle

You guys need to make some T Shirts.
I'd buy one!
Another fantastic presentation! 👍
Thanx Lyle.
You’re a good guy. Thanks.

Awesome show👍👍i can relate😃
Thanks for your vids. Awesome and on point as always... I'm still waiting to see the C5 C&S ROCKUMENTARY. :) I'll Possibly see you at Carslile!

👍

Love the jukebox behind you. Wurtlitzer?
It's a Seeburg 200 from 1957. )

Be sure to stop by the G row and meet the Vetteheads, look for the Pool :0
Looking forward to the revised windshield wiper hose assembly on the C5. Any updates on that?
Man, you and I both! We have been waiting for that set-up all thorugh COVID...It will be easy to install and virtually every C5 needs it. Lyle
@@csvette The last I heard was around December. Is that somewhat still the same or has that changed?
@@RicheySynthetics I am hoping that will still be the due date.
Lyle, what is in your opinion the best set of headers for a 2019 grand sport. The vehicle is pretty much bone stock aside from an AFE intake.
Tom, I don't do much in the way of performance upgrades to C7's yet. I don't have a favorite manufacturer to recommend. Maybe give Lingenfelter a call for their thoughts? Lyle
The C8 Corvette, and maybe others, allow you to select a unique VIN number for a price, of course. How will this affect a VIN search in the future?
It should work the same as the custom number will be associated to a build sheet on a database just like a randomly assigned one.

I’ve got a 1995 c4 and there’s a gasoline smell in the antifreeze. What could this be . Thanks for your videos .
Hoo boy--that, my good sir, is most likely a bad head gasket. LT-1s were famous for those blowing out. Lyle
Thanks
I just say driver side and passenger side just to eliminate all doubt!
That is usually the safer way to do it, but most folks still say "right" or "left" and then we have to clarify it. Glad you are already on board with the correct terminology! Lyle :)

That is exactly my guess as well. The cluster will need to be sent out for repairs. Atlanta Speedometer does good work. Lyle
@@csvette Thank you Lyle!
Is your parts inventory for the c4 deep or shallow need to know just in case
I don't know what to say. ... 😄
It's driver side and drinker side

After a dead battery on my 2006 key fobs won’t work
You will need to pre-program them to the car. Contact me for a link. Lyle 800-886-5064
