Hey do you have any tips on how to do a two point turn I am having trouble with that. I would love to pass like this will be my sixth time going and I feel horrible
On the course, the parking spot is surrounded by a curb. The curb extends pass the parking lines on each side. You should try to line your rear wheel with the curb further down the road. It might be hard to see if you're actually lined up. A trick is to stop when the first flag from the second parking line is lined up inside the little window (called the quarter glass) on your rear passenger side. Once you're lined up, turn your wheels all the way to the right first and then start backing in. Use your side mirrors to check if you might hit a cone and adjust slightly while backing in until you straighten up. It's best to practice in a parking lot. Put some boxes to act as cones and try to fit in there. In the parking lot, the lines for the parking spot next to the one you're using are about the same distance away as the curb on the course. Since the curb is extended on the course, simulate this by putting something down as a marker on the road 9 footsteps away from the end of the parking line that is acting as the curb. Try to line your rear wheel up with that line and try to park. Keep practicing until you get comfortable and try to do it without having to move forward when backing in.

I want to thank you 😊. This video helped me a lot. I watched your video every day until my test. I did very well on the test and passed on my first try. They took me to the exact same route in the video. Before the test begins, the instructor will ask you to turn on your hazard lights, turn on your right and left turn signals, and honk your horn. The closed course part was a slight difference when I did my test, the instructor was not inside the car with me. she was outside the car giving me instructions on what to do. When I was on the public road, she asked me to change lanes. She also asked me what the speed limit was on the road I was driving on. Be sure to listen, pay attention to your surroundings, and follow directions and you will do well on the test.
I did my test today (Dec-27-2024) honestly I thought I was gonna fail, because it took me like 4 movements to park on reverse, 😅 apparently you don't need to do it like in the video, I ask if I can move forward to rearrange the position of the car, and he was super chill about it, he said "yeah of course just don't hit the orange cones", I was like.. uff, haha he was an angel, the route was the exact same and by the end he said, Congratulations! I almost cried hahaha. Good luck to all! Thanks for the video.
@@capreshapitts6403 I didn't do that, but you can ask them if you need to do it before you do the maneuver. Just be very cautious about the signals left and right on the course, and before everything begins they will ask you a buch of questions about the car, like to show me where is this or that, turn on the signals left and right, things like that. Good luck.

This guide was extremely helpful. It was the exact same path in this video as well. Passed my driving test the first time. Also, my instructor was very nice and funny so that definitely helped to. 1000% definitely recommend this video.
what was the hardest part for you? I’ve got my test on Thursday and I’m not too confident. Is the parking space just big enough for a car or is there a little bit more room?
@@JoeSkiGdid the reverse parking seem hard or was it easier than you thought? I’m still nervous for my test tomorrow, I’m going to be using a Honda 2012 CRV. Is there any room for mistakes?
I passed on my first try after watching this video a few times. I had a really kind, cool instructor at the Essex MVA, and he gave me a pointer or two along the drive. The test is pretty much the same as in this video except my road route was only barely different. No other closed-course parking other than the two point reverse. Took me less than 10 minutes to finish the whole test. Also, since I know I can reverse into a spot without cones if I move forward just less than two full spaces ahead of the spot and turn my wheel all the way right, what helped me before taking the reverse parking on the test was to get two cones and go to an empty parking lot. I placed the cones at the lines of the parking space I want to back into, so I could use them as a reference for when I move forward two spaces. I then looked through the back passenger window to see where the cone closest to me would appear in the window when parking, which was a reference to where I needed to see the cone in the window on the test to pull into the spot. Best of luck! The instructors are very nice at Essex, so don’t feel overly pressured.

@CHSSTATIC yea that's how I passed. You take the course in the back of mva, get pass a couple stop signs and the road test takes about 5 mins. It's really easy just don't be nervous.
Took my test today and my examiner failed me because I apparently did not pass by the parking spot with enough room. Meanwhile I pulled about as far away as the example here. Smh I hate when people get on a power trip. I need whatever examiner is in this video
After i do the Knowledge Test at MVA I will be able to do in Frederick MD.The MVA Driving Test which includes the On Course road at MVA and driving on Public Roads. I'm Very Very Nervous about doing this but i think that i will be able to pass the MVA driver's Test if i do on the 1st try and then after i do end up passing the MVA Driver's Test my Dad is gonna be extremely proud of me! God Keep Me safe and i pray to god that i will pass!
Thumbs up for this video but I don't think it is wise to stop two times at stop sign( behind the stop line and at stop sign). It can confuse the driver behind. Stop once and take a wide view. Waiting at stop sign should be at least 3seconds if all things been equal. Once more I say thank you for this wonderful video. Please note; you might really need to apply extreme caution when approaching the first public traffic light because it's so fast in changing from green to yellow.
Yes, I agree. That is the case for real world driving. However, for the purposes of this test, it is wiser to use more caution than usual because a mistake at a stop sign is an instant fail. Some instructors at this location failed multiple people for proceeding without caution after a stop behind the line. It is better to be safe. You can't fail for being too cautious on the test, although it is excessive.
I take mine today. I’ll come back and let yall know if I pass. This help alot. I drive on my permit alot so I’m use to stopping at the white line and not behind it which is how I failed my first test. I’ll stop at the stop but when that white line is there sometimes I stop at it. But now since I know to ALWAYS stop before it i should past today. This my 2nd time.

Sorry. For the constant comments lol. But I really wanna pass the two point turn into cones. That’s the only problem I have. I’m not worried about the road portion of the test. When you were reverse parking where did you stop at. What was your reference points?. I always mess it up.
The parking spot is surrounded by a curb. The curb extends pass the parking lines on each side. You should try to line your rear wheel with the curb further down the road. It might be hard to see if you're actually lined up. A trick is to stop when the first flag from the second parking line is lined up inside the little window (called the quarter glass) on your rear passenger side. Try to line your rear wheel up with that line and try to park. Keep practicing until you get comfortable and try to do it without having to move forward when backing in.
@@heckhuon thank you for the tip! i think the reason i failed was due to nerves, but also due to the fact i didnt use the quater glass i forgot, i used the rear view big window with the sticker on it. question - when you say first flag from the second parking line, is that the 1st cone or the second? sorry again for the constant emails
For reference, you will be using the second parking line and set of cones that are furthest down the road. From these, line up the first flag from the cone closest to your car in the little glass at the back of the rear passenger window. Check this video out to get a visualization of the reference point: ruclips.net/video/6rsES8CxayQ/видео.htmlsi=hO7YyesrgZbJoOzk. Depending on your car, you may to need to adjust (more forward, back, or centered) to find the best position for the flag in the little window. Practice to figure this out!
@ Try to line up the front right cone with your back seat right window’s separation line with that smaller window. Then just steer all the way and back. Try it first.
Since the public road part of the test has opened back up at the MVA in Essex, MD, is it the same as the RUclips video from 2019 b4 it closed the road portion?? Just need to practice b4 i take it next week. Thanks!
I’m wondering the same thing as im scheduled to take driving test tomorrow. I just saw somewhere that they now make you do the 3 point turn??? Also again are they going by this RUclips mva 2019 closed course and public road test?
IM WONDERING the same thing as im scheduled to take test tomorrow…. I just saw somewhere they make u do the 3 point turn ugh. DOES ANYONE KNOW?? THANKS
Oh by the way guys I failed the test the first time trying to reverse into the cones. But I tried again after practicing reversing and passed on my second attempt, the Friday of that same week
Question. I noticed at the traffic light you didn’t turn and there isn’t a “no turn on red” sign. Are we not allowed to turn even if there isn’t a sign indicating we can’t ?
You are allowed to turn on red after a full stop behind the line and if there is no sign prohibiting a turn on red. However, the safest bet is to wait for green on the test. You can't fail for being too safe.
For the test, you can’t fail for being extra cautious. You could make a right after the stop, but it’s better to be safe for test purposes. Some instructors are very picky.
Yes, depending on traffic, the test instructor may ask you to switch to another lane and the switch back to your original lane. This would have happened on Eastern Blvd at 7:25. However, they didn’t ask in this video.
@@prettycureforever7102 yeah buddy, I was not nervous and that helped me, I prayed to God and he helped me, maybe if you go in a car with rear camera you pass, cause that’s a great help and take your time to due perfect every skill.
be cautious they sometimes change the part where you go in and where you park and it honestly through me off and made me fail because i was not expecting it still great video tho
Line up the first flag from the second parking line in the little window by your rear passenger side. You can point your mirrors down a little to make sure you don't cross the lines.
Either way should be fine in modern cars. Just make sure the car is completely stopped and your foot is firmly pressed on the brake pedal when shifting and removing or applying the handbrake.
Im scared because some of my sister’s friends have been telling her that in that exact mva people are racist I’m not afraid of that I’m just nervous cause I don’t them to fail my test just because of my race color or way to speak
It is difficult if you don't practice beforehand. With practice, you can get a good feel for it. You have to able to do it without moving forward when you start backing in or you will lose points and potentially fail. After passing, it could take about 45 minutes or longer depending on how busy it is to have your number called.
You can, but you will lose points. If you move forward 3 or more times (depends on the discretion of the instructor), they will stop the test and fail you.
When backing up would you pass if even if you don’t turn your head over or should I turn over before start moving then just mirrors?? Please respond I have my test this Thursday.
Hi, I have a question about bringing what you needed before the driving test starts, and it's about the driving skill book that everyone gets in the after your Knowledge test, but I kinda lose my book in my room. I heard from my sister that when she did her driving test that she didn't need it when it was her first time, but it's been a few years since she got her license. But the rules said that you have to bring the skill book to the driving test. I scheduled to do the test the following week. I'm still nervous about the driving test and worried about not finding my skill book on time, but I feel a bit more comfortable with driving, and I shouldn't be worried about the book so much.

Just passed after 3rd attempt, course is still exactly the same, just pay attention to the signs, they’ll ask you about that.
I'd like to give an update.
I went to make this tesf today in Essex and there is no more public road practice.
They do not take you to the road anymore for testing you.
Otherwise everything is the same. Thank you for this video.
Do they make u do the 3point turn
@@rashadcolyns3948 I'm sorry didn't see this before, yes they still do.

@CHSSTATIC yea that's how I passed. You take the course in the back of mva, get pass a couple stop signs and the road test takes about 5 mins. It's really easy just don't be nervous.

I passed my test today
Took my test today and my examiner failed me because I apparently did not pass by the parking spot with enough room. Meanwhile I pulled about as far away as the example here. Smh I hate when people get on a power trip. I need whatever examiner is in this video
The cones are even too small too. Did you hit any of the cones???
After i do the Knowledge Test at MVA I will be able to do in Frederick MD.The MVA Driving Test which includes the On Course road at MVA and driving on Public Roads. I'm Very Very Nervous about doing this but i think that i will be able to pass the MVA driver's Test if i do on the 1st try and then after i do end up passing the MVA Driver's Test my Dad is gonna be extremely proud of me! God Keep Me safe and i pray to god that i will pass!
Good luck!
Nice video. Technically you don't have to stop behind stop signs when there is no stop line or crosswalk but I guess you can just to be safe.
Agreed! Just wanted to be extra careful for test purposes.
It is a staggered stop. Sometimes you have to do this so you can see around signs, bushes and trees.
I take my test Tuesday, im so nervous😬 wish me luck 🤞🏽
Tamia Logan same here!
I PASSED🤪🥳

I take mine today. I’ll come back and let yall know if I pass. This help alot. I drive on my permit alot so I’m use to stopping at the white line and not behind it which is how I failed my first test. I’ll stop at the stop but when that white line is there sometimes I stop at it. But now since I know to ALWAYS stop before it i should past today. This my 2nd time.
Do you know if you’re allowed to make a right turn on red on the test?
@@PaperclipSkrunklyi did a right turn on red in frederick md mva road test, only do it if ur allowed to at an intersection (no signs that say no right on red)and when its completely safe, don’t rush ur self bc turning right on red isn’t required u can wait it out and not get faulted for it.

I'm taking my test this week and I'm super overwhelm and nervous and I was wondering were you allowed to use your back camera during your test when reversing or how did you pinpoint how to reverse cuz that's the only thing that I'm mostly nervous 😥.
Practice using only your mirrors in a parking lot. Put some boxes or objects to park in between.
Thanks A lot , passed on my first try
Had mine here yesterday and a goofy set me up did this whole thing in reverse and didn't tell me the second course is where I would be starting at after saying you give bad instructions by not telling me which course lane I should be in he responded with "Go straight " "just because everyone used the first lane doesn't mean you do" then got the manager to gaslight me trying to say I know about double yellow lines and I shouldn't cross them this could have been a serious accident with the level of miscommunication be prepared if you take this course these essex people play games so be prepared...new people up there and they'll give bad instructions and blame you later
Facts bunch of punks sometimes
I passed my test on the first try today 😁
Great job! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I passed my test today!!

Will be taking my skills test next week. Is the test still the same? No parallel parking right?
Question. I noticed at the traffic light you didn’t turn and there isn’t a “no turn on red” sign. Are we not allowed to turn even if there isn’t a sign indicating we can’t ?
I'm sure you're allowed. But for the test, it's always best to be cautious and only turn when its green or you feel safe to do so
You are allowed to turn on red after a full stop behind the line and if there is no sign prohibiting a turn on red. However, the safest bet is to wait for green on the test. You can't fail for being too safe.
at 7:08 why did u not go right on red was there a sign that said you couldnt?
better be safe than sorry
For the test, you can’t fail for being extra cautious. You could make a right after the stop, but it’s better to be safe for test purposes. Some instructors are very picky.
Are you allowed to use a back up camera during the reverse two point turn?
You can but make sure the car doesn’t have sensors (unless you can turn it off)
Hey is it possible to have changing lanes in your test?
Thanks
Yes, depending on traffic, the test instructor may ask you to switch to another lane and the switch back to your original lane. This would have happened on Eastern Blvd at 7:25. However, they didn’t ask in this video.
I passed my test today😎
Congrats on passing! Was the driving test just the closed course or did you go on the road?

Yes, that is perfectly fine.
did you line the car up to the curb things or the cones?
You try to line your rear wheels with the furthest curb down the road.
hkl100 thank you very much, do you have any visual aids? like did you turn your mirrors down?
Line up the first flag from the second parking line in the little window by your rear passenger side. You can point your mirrors down a little to make sure you don't cross the lines.
Do you know if when we start do we move the handbrake first or the gear in drive or parking first????
Either way should be fine in modern cars. Just make sure the car is completely stopped and your foot is firmly pressed on the brake pedal when shifting and removing or applying the handbrake.
When would you say is the best time to take the test?
Anytime is fine. Just make sure you have enough rest if it's in the morning.
@@heckhuon thank you

There are no posted speed limits on those roads, so it would be safe to stay under 15 mph.
Was it hard to do the reverse parking also how long did it take till you left Mva after passing
It is difficult if you don't practice beforehand. With practice, you can get a good feel for it. You have to able to do it without moving forward when you start backing in or you will lose points and potentially fail. After passing, it could take about 45 minutes or longer depending on how busy it is to have your number called.
hkl100 so can’t move forward at all when backing in even if you may hit a cone?
You can, but you will lose points. If you move forward 3 or more times (depends on the discretion of the instructor), they will stop the test and fail you.
When backing up would you pass if even if you don’t turn your head over or should I turn over before start moving then just mirrors??
Please respond I have my test this Thursday.
You should always be turning your head and checking mirrors. You could lose points if you don’t.
I wish there was a video for Annapolis. I will be taking the MVA provision test there and I am super nervous.
How did it go?
pretty cure Forever pretty well. I did not do the street test because of the pandemic.
You can pick up another book at any MVA or print out the log sheets and signature page here: mva.maryland.gov/Documents/RD-006.pdf
