Honestly, imagine they fixed these neighbourhoods up, like cleaned up the housing, fixed the streets, neatened up the green spaces and cleaned out all the filth - so much beauty beneath the rubble.
I remember when the entire neighborhood would be out washing the marble steps. Still love Baltimore will never leave. But I blame the government for allowing the vacant homes to sit there for years and nothing is done about it. You can see homes that are welll taken care of next to them. Its sad.
What has been allowed to happen to these neighborhoods is a crime and a shame. 😭 If this were DC, New York City or Boston these areas would have been kept up or renovated and gentrified!
There's no need for a place to look like this. Especially when you have a bunch of grown men just standing around all day everyday contributing nothing constructive to the community. The place is going to look even worse in 10, 20 years if the people don't start giving a shit and make some positive changes.

Then there are areas like this... which I would never go through, even in a tank. BTW, standing in the street obstructing traffic is a way of showing "it's all about me, MFer".
At least some of them are probably drug dealers and others just like to hang out with their buddies drinking, talking and doing whatever. Kinda sad that all of them are not doing much when if they all spent even a few hours cleaning up their neighborhood of all that trash it would look so much better.

I went to DC in 1997 and it was rough as hell outside of the tourist areas...not this bad... but the worst I've even seen in person.
