The picture of that band with Jimi was not The Beatles. It was The Who.

Love and Peace Festival was a music festival with a total of around 25,000 visitors that took place from September 4th to 6th, 1970 on the island of Fehmarn / Germany near the Flügge lighthouse. Jimi Hendrix had his last major open-air performance at the festival. RIP JIMI ❤🙏

He set his guitar on fire at the Monterey Pop Festival! And then destroyed it on stage 😎👵🏼💙✌🏼

Growing up in the south. It was Jimmy, Van, Allman Bros, Lynard Skynrd, Buddy Miles, Band of Gypsies, widespread panic…

Hendrix played his guitar upside down and backwards... He was left handed. He used a pick, his fingers and his tongue.

No the strings are in the same order as any guitar. There were guys who actually did play that did it that way, maybe Bo Dudly.

Voodoo Child was Jimi writing a modern blues number, along the lines of "Hoochie Coochie Man" and some other old time blues tunes. If you want to see him do it live there is a good video from Woodstock.

Bear in mind that clip was put together decades after his death. So the only thing that matters is the music. The images are totally irrelevant.
On the album this song comes from, there is an earlier longer song simply called "Voodoo Chile". So when this one came on later on the same album, the "Slight Return" was added to it. "Voodoo Chile" is a very different song. And "1983" is a trip.

So glad you're getting into Jimi Hendrix, this song is that he believes in magic and superstition, and you're going to love the guitar solo, damn talk about an acid trip, lol lol, the funniest thing about this that parents who who used to listen to this laugh about kids music today, no actually he used to light his guitar on stage on fire, damn this is awesome, again the great songs are always seems so short, I didn't know much about Jimi Hendrix back in the day this is supposed to be a very long song and I think they broke it up, my brothers used to listen to this way back in the day and LOL LOL you know why, I never understood it, because I was young I didn't get into that, now that I'm getting into Jimmy I love him, glad you did this there is more, thanks, have a song for you might like, it's called-- Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple..
