YES! I suck at maintenence, spending so much time getting everything nice, then letting it all go to shit because I get lazy or overwhelmed. I'm really trying this year to maintain!!!
Yes, sometimes we think the new organization will work but I find I need some time to live it before deciding that it actually does or doesn't.
@@Lashlove16 Definitely ask his input if he's one that also likes to do stuff in the kitchen. My husband wanted the can opener in a certain drawer, just because that's where he would look for it. So, as I've changed things over the last 10 years, I've kept the can opener in that same drawer, just for him. Good luck!
Stephanie sages her house when ghosts follow her home.....I have rewatched that part several times and keep cracking up!! 🤣🤣
I always love the makeovers & so love Stephanie and Cas together they make me laugh when I need one! I am so glad to see I’m not the only one who loved that ghost comment & re-watched it just to laugh. I have sage at my house too! My best friend gave me it a few years ago, to keep away, joking with me, “ this should take care the negative karma after work” (one of my coworkers was so cranky or mean dragging all of us down at work) Miz Crabs left, so it must’ve worked.😆🤣. It’s a running joke to this day whenever someone’s evil to us, just get out the sage when you get home. BFF has given it as gifts to a bunch of our friends. It’s fun to watch them open it and look confused of what it is. Now there’s a group of us that says it works. Definitely sharing Stephanie‘s ghost, with everyone ❤

I love the question of "what do I do with the utensils I use like once a year?" I have a gravy boat that I only use for Thanksgiving, but I love using it at Thanksgiving! So I keep it up on a high shelf! ❤️ 🐝

I love that the tools stayed in the kitchen. Sometimes a weird place is the best place. (My tools are in the bedroom(no basement/no garage), because that’s where I have the most closet space.

Thank you for this video. You made me realize that, I need to decide to decluter my kitchen before I get my dream kitchen. I can always repurchase if I need the things or have room. Just like I don't buy food for the 2 fridge because at the moment I only have one. I should Not purchase stuff for my Dream kitchen that I don't have at the moment.

We have moved from a 3500 square foot home to a 1000ish square foot apartment, this video is very timely, just trying to make sense of the space and how to utilize it to the fullest. That kitchen is gorgeous!
Feel you. I did something similar last year (4 bedroom to 1 bedroom). I was going to start a resale business so it was packed and I was forced to just donate about a 20' trailer full of stuff. It was really, really hard because all I saw was dollar signs but I had to free myself from that guilt and just let it go. I just passed my first year in the 1 bedroom and I'm still getting rid of stuff. For me, I find I can do big purges when there is way too much but for the rest, I just had to move it and slowly work on it. My newest secret is buying one of those .99 bags from Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Homegoods, in a pattern that is cute but not my favorite (prevents me from wanting to keep it), and when it is full I just donate the whole thing. I've literally gotten rid of 3 bag fulls in the past 2 months. Yes, I spent $3 to make that happen but the reward definitely outweighs the expense. Because they are cute I can leave it sitting out and when I go to put something away sometimes it goes in the get rid of instead of back where it came from. It has probably helped me more than any other idea I've ever tried other than my turning hangers backward so I know what clothes I didn't wear during a season. Best of luck.
My husband is a carpenter and he always has a project happening whether it's making something for the kids or a small or big renovation around the house. It's nothing to have drop saws, drills, levels and small piles of screws, drill bits, tape measures etc all around the house. So I totally understand the drill on the kitchen counter! This is my life too!

She's not the only one! I grew up in a "corn sticky" house and have them myself, despite rarely making corn. They have survived so many declutterings and have a home in my kitchen!

My daughter is a butterfly and I am a cricket and I struggle in knowing how to help her organize her room and living space. My hope is to help her figure out how to organize for her clutterbug type before she moves out in 2 years, so she doesn't struggle like I did.
I’ve got the exact same situation. I have a tendency to try to get her to microorganise and then realize what I’m doing. It’s a struggle for me to go opposite to my organizing style. And her closet doors are always open. Does your daughter do that? She says she’ll forget about it if she doesn’t see it. She also has ADHD
@@wewemcrhyne She doesn't have any doors to her closet! So, everything is out in the open for all to see mess and all, which is why she keeps her bedroom door closed at all times. And if she can't see "it" (whatever it is) she doesn't know that it's there!

l not only couldn't fit my spices into a drawer, I couldn't fit them into three drawers. I'd love to see you do a video for people who have different needs, chefs, artists, potters, knitters, crafters, gardeners, home businesses of any kind. A small side series for people who LOVE what they do and LOVE the implements they need to do it with. Like you. If anyone could do such a series, it would be you. Definitely a cut above.
A year ago, I went through my kitchen and tossed and organized my kitchen cabinets. Now I have labeled baskets with canned goods and dog food, medications, doggie meds and such, baking stuff, and cooking stuff. I can say that It still works for me and I love it!!
Though I’m a bee... I need butterfly strategies these days with my baby. Hopefully I can implement some of these things in my tiny kitchen

I jealous of Collin's cabinet, that would be perfect for kitchen appliances you don't want out all the time. Also I did my spices like that in a drawer with a similar organizer, and I love it because its obvious where a missing spice jar goes and you can't shove anything else in there to make it accidentally into an overflowing junk drawer.
Loved the chickens and a gorgeous kitchen. One thing that bothers me in these reorganizing videos is there’s not enough room for the next gadget or big sale on chips. Would like to hear how to manage that. One in one out doesn’t always work if the thought is I’m trialing new gadget.

PS we have corn holder thingys too....and yes we use them BUT you've taught me well and we only have 4 pair, one for each kid! 🙌 and....I have to admit the chicken wrangling (that's we we call it) is a common occurrence at our home too 🤣😂🤣😂
OMG..she's totally me! Loved this and her closet makeover! We have 3 "zombie apocalypse" backpacks. I call them go bags that we can just grab and have 2 days worth of stuff..including survival straws LOL. But seriously, I need those clear bins!!

I would really like to see you work on a small house with lots of occupants and a small if not nonexistent budget. All these large nice homes are so easy to declutter and organize!
The size of the home isn't what makes a space easy or hard to declutter, it's the amount of clutter you have in your space. ;)
