Camp Chef Woodwind Pellet Feeder Problem

The Camp Chef Woodwind pellet smoker does not feed pellets evenly. This can cause older pellets to sit at the bottom of the hopper unless they are manually pushed through.

I leave pellets in my hopper year round and I live in the PNW and never had moisture issues with pellets.

Remove that dumb grate on top and stir the pellets every once in a while. It’s known good practice. I took the grate off my Traeger for that reason and my Pitts and Spitts doesn’t have one.

All 4 pellet grills I’ve used I t he last few years feed unevenly. They put those grates there probably for liability so that some moron doesn’t get their finger chopped off by the auger.
