While putting together a woodwind pro 36, there are some inconstencies. They provide an App to build called Bilt, which is easier to use as the resolution is much better, but the step numbers bear no resemblance to the printed manual and parts bags. Second though minor in the video, manual and app, they say 4 screws hold the hopper onto the BBQ. There are 6 holes and 6 screws supplied. Finally the prob from the hopper that is screwed to inside of BBQ actually has 2 wires that make it too thick for the hole in the cover plate (step14) increasing the risk of damaging the cable.
I got around these, but a fix to instructions would be good

Yea I emailed support about the step with 4 screws & it actually has 6 & 6 holes, I think my upp rack guides are upside down after watching BILT video, the diagram appears to be different

Just got my Woodwind Pro 36 on Monday. I've put together 2 pit bosses and 1 Zgrill. This was the smoothest build by far. All the holes lined up perfectly and all the parts were labeled and present. I did this solo in about 1hr 15 min. The hat was a nice touch.

I used the video to help with the assembly of my new Woodwind Pro 36. The video shows a completed hopper assembly which unless you follow along in the manual you would miss that like I did. You have to use the loose half pages in step 9. The numbers on the bags did not correspond to the numbers in the instructions or in the video. All the parts were there but you had to pick through them to find the right bag. Otherwise the video was very good and the assembly went smoothly. All the holes lined up nicely and I was able to do the assembly by myself. The hat was a bonus. Time to get smokin'!😃

Minor tip (aka learn from my error) I spent way too long looking for the assembly manual in Box 2, so I could match up steps with the hardware in the bags. Mine was actually in the barrel of the grill (Box 1), instead. So, check both boxes. Also, the installation instructions aren't posted on CC's website, so it would be nice if they were posted under the manuals section.

Mine didn’t even ship with the instruction manual. And the bags do not go in order. The manual I find online does not call out for bags of parts. I have bags labeled as 3,4,5,6,13,15,16,17,18,19,22,24,26_27,28. Is that all of the parts bags?

100% true. I literally told Camp chef today that FedEx is not handling the packages right.
They are replacing my entire WP36 due to damage to the grill. I asked support if they can ship freight and they couldn’t.
Also, their packaging is not very secure and the box tears apart easily. Camp Chef should try to package their product better.

Just assembled my woodwind pro 24 yesterday and boy are there inconsistencies in the book instructions vs the numbered parts bags. Mine was completely missing the hopper bolts so I had to use my side shelf bolts in place of those. Inside the hopper at the bottom there’s a screw missing where it attaches to the auger even though that’s a pre-assembled part. The legs have quite a bit of twist/tension in them so they had to be forced into alignment.
Overall it feels solid when built, just getting it there was a real pain. Instructions said 45 min but it took over double that with all the time spent searching for bolts.

Mine had a step 9.2, 9.3 and 9.4 which involves putting the hopper together before sliding it into the main chamber. For 9.3 the required screws are attached to the hopper lid and not in a bag of hardware.
It arrived damaged and they are sending a new lid, but damage was clearly not from shipping, just bad quality manufacturing.

    @andrewkowalewski7380 2 месяца назад

Please address the sticker on the burn box. The adhesive is impossible to get off, even though it says "Remove." I had to use acetone and a scrub pad. If you look at some videos about the WW Pro, others clearly give up on that sticker, and it looks terrible. Honestly, I was hoping to see you try to remove it in this video, but by the end it just disappeared. Also, mine had a bag for step 9.4, which is not in the instructions. I think I figured it out, but it was kind of a mess.

My woodwind pro 36 arrived today
Damaged in manufacturing and in fedex shipping .
Small dings and scratches and bent up corners of a few pieces.
There is a gap at top of hopper where it attaches to grill and lots of play/movement where hopper is attached.
Can’t imagine how far it will pull away from top screw mounts with 20lb of pellets in hopper.
Small screws used to fasten fire pot to inside of smoker have no stopping point and have a stripped feeling
Nice stainless steel and wood chunk smoke feature but hardware is not as robust as I would expect in this price range. I have a timberline 1300 and it is of better material and build quality in my opinion, minus the stainless steel.
    Manufacturing qc not that great.
Might have got a not so good one
    Bought from BBQ Guys
Why this didn’t ship freight like my timberline is beyond me

STOP. There is a QR code that comes with your BBQ/smoker that shows ALL the steps. This guy misses a couple key steps that require you to disassemble and start over. Step 15 he shows re-installing the heat deflector however he doesn't show securing it with 4 screws that were not included in our box of parts. He also left out Step 9.4 the Feeder Bracket that goes on the Hopper.

  • @jaredwatson8942

This is the worst grill i have ever put together and i have done plenty. This video, manual and app didnt even match on certain steps or was backward. The app says the heat deflector should be screwed down yes has no holes for it. The handle for the wood chunks is a disaster. Every time you twist it to smoke or ignite it bumps and moves the deflector. This is why i prefer offsets. Theyre all in one welded piece and not this mess.
