    I didn't know back when I filmed this video but I believe Dim D refers to a dimension D chorus/effects unit. not "Dimed". lol.

      Would you say the presets captured the Maxon overdrive in the presets or would you say to still plug in the Maxon pedal?
      Cheers.

    Hey man! Great to see you're posting stuff again after so long. One question I had was, did you go to college to get into your career? If so where did you attend? I'm wanting to get into professional audio engineering, as I've been a tone chaser since I heard The End of Heartache album back in the early 00's. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated! (Side note: I'm a super fanboy of Joel and Adam D. I swear I think Adam D is a reincarnation of King Midas....anything that man touches turns to gold. And Joel has to be the reincarnation of Apollo. Dude is the god of music for me haha). Cheers! Thanks for posting your material!

      Matt Wooten hi Matt, I did go to school for Audio engineering. In Canada I would recommend OIART. In USA I would recommend full sail. When you graduate keep your ego at the door and realize you ain’t shit. Work hard and keep your head down. Maybe 5 years after graduation you could be killin it, never know.

      @@snapascrew Thanks man! My guitar buddy graduates from Full Sail in a few weeks for cinematography, so I know it's legit for anything creative in the media and audio world. My concern is, would it be something I'd have to move to the campus to learn? Or is it feasible to get my degree online for it? I'm like 13 hours from Florida so that's the only issue. Also, is the job market fairly open in your field? Or is it tough to get gigs?

    • @snapascrew
      @snapascrew  4 года назад +1

      Matt Wooten you’d have to be there in person and If they say otherwise I would not opt for the online course. This is stuff that you need to be immersed into and doing on the daily. Understanding how gear works and signal flow etc. it’s an industry that can take you a week to get a gig if you know the right people or years. Your best bet (when covid is over) is to join your local iatse union and start working as a stage hand. Then work your way towards working for a local production company, then eventually you’ll be put on gigs, and eventually (hopefully) you will get on a tour. For me the timeline was: 2007-2010 volunteer at church and learn basics (during high school), then went off to college for a year to learn more. Then 2012-2013 I killed time working a random job at home cuz I wasn’t old enough to be on a cruise ship yet. Then I worked on ships from like 2014-2015. Then I made contact with a local production company and worked with them for a year, then I got my first tour in 2016 and have been on the road ever since. It’s all about education yourself in steps and sometimes it’s up to YOU to go out and figure out ways to educate yourself. If you want to walk into a production company and just start working no one is going to explain to you how shit works, you need to know it or you won’t get the gig. Maybe with a big time production house you can start at the very bottom and work your way up over time. Right now is a bad time to get into the industry because it’s changing and we don’t know where it’s going to end up.

    Do you have any tips for hitting those pitch harmonics right on my curse. Whenever I would do them they wouldn’t sustain that long. also working on down picking to play these songs. I tried to learn rose of sharyn recently and my right hand just was fatigued after 1min.

      Squeals are easiest usually on the 3rd or 5th fret. Experiment with where your thumb catches the harmonics to get different pitches. Closer to the bridge = higher pitch. Practice, practice, practice. Having tons of gain helps too.

    How you get that quality? Got everything + Scarlett 2i2 on a Mac , emg pickups, and it dosent sound like that at all

    • @snapascrew
      @snapascrew  4 года назад

      TheMightyRiffman really? That’s literally all I’m doing ... same interface as you. But I’ve got a caparison with fishman pickups. Still you should be 80% there...

    • @snapascrew
      @snapascrew  4 года назад

      TheMightyRiffman are you using the instrument level or mic level and adjusting the gain to taste? (I just go straight up instrument)

    • @ogblob1876
      @ogblob1876 4 года назад

      snapascrew inst and mic on the software? Cuz i always use it on logic pro x as a plugin!

    • @snapascrew
      @snapascrew  4 года назад

      TheMightyRiffman nah I meant on the front of the Scarlett... I use no gain on the channel and set to “instrument”. It shouldn’t really make a huge diff but I’m trying to think of anything that’s not identical.
