Such an underrated metal album. This is the album that, IMO, put these guys in the elite class of metalcore. The riffs/solos, breakdowns, cleans, and sheer brutality of the screams are out of this world. When this album was released, Tim solidified himself as the best screamer in metal in my opinion.
He's all over the scene, he's the one who fine tuned Parkway Drive's sound and produced their album Killing With A Smile and Horizons. Adam is an animal musician.
Adam D is a Producer.. there's a difference between a label and a Producer/engineer. He records other bands that aren't signed to Metal Blade as well. One of the best for sure.
since i always re-watching this vids, so i tell myself that 1:17 this drum part is from Anodyne Sea breakdown, is also similar with Greater Foundation Intro
@IMakeMetal The masking tape is used to prevent the wobblyness of the strings, of course since the 6th string is the most with lag. Mostly used in recording, because when you do the instrumental part, that tape is either to prevent the strings shakes, or if you're focusing on a certain sting you would put tape over the ones you don't want to get in the way. Thats how the guitars sounds clean on recorded versions.
I ever get big enough to choose my producer, I'm definitely choosing Mike D. without question, not just for his skill and talent, but simply it just looks like so much fun to work with him.
@whitemetal1000 that knocking sound is called click tracks or metronome. it helps them stay in tempo while recording. i'm guessing those tapes on their strings prevents the other strings ring out so it could sound cleanly
Why am i not at all suprised to see Adam D in this studio... love how he kicked our own Parkway Drive in to gear on their first two albums .. 🤘Australia
@deebald that's all against unwanted string noise, works really well, if you ever record guitar parts do that and you'l be having less unwanted sounds(but it facks up your strings )
Nick Hipa has used a Grey burst Washburn that looks a lot like a Dean Cadi. I cannot find info on what model it is. Does anyone know anything about it?
@whitemetal1000 that beat its the tempo so they wont get lost, and the blue tape its when they are doing a riff that doesnt use the strings they hold them so the riff will be clean, its gotta be album perfect.
@whitemetal1000 i think that is supposed to mute the other strings if they are recording a certain part like the solo, so they dont want the lower strings to hum and squeal with that high of distortion and gain on. your guna want the solo to be as clean as possible for the outcome of the song. hoped this helps :)
hey guys, i think that solo at 1:35 might have been in a song that they might have thought was too out there, like the only constant is change and condemned. they were afraid to release those songs. but after those songs became a lot more successful than they expected, they might be more prone to releasing more 'out there' stuff...which hopefully includes that song
@Silverexx i know im really looking forward to listening to the song at the beginning when are they gonne release some of this on their myspace or purevolume or something.
@appleipodtouch2g No he doesn't. Sound engineers are either freelance or part of the studio they want to record in. Adam does sound for a lot of other bands... Unearth, Parkway Drive, just to name 2.
Adam is such a good producer/engineer I would love to pick his brain about this stuff.. when ever I see him I just ask him how the tours going and stupid kse stuff...
@Fabio81109 Nope. It was supposed to be Condemned, but Nick didn't like the last note. It "sounded too happy." So we now have the current solo with that epic trem at the end.
It is possible for the solo at 1:38 to be part of their Unreleased bonus song "Paralyzed". Just a maybe idk if they are gonna release that track anyway.
Whats that got to do with what i was saying?, I love the art work for this cover. Killing with a smile being my favorite album, deep blue being my favorite album cover.
@Maccelinho sadly this solo and or song did not make it to the album :( i searched for it like crazy then read it :(:(:( its a fkn sick solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theyre one of the best legends and pioneer of metalcore im just sad that they dont have enough attention than kse
@@ihatedrugs2246 They pretty close to KSE in the early days until Tim went to jail, that’s when it honestly went downhill lmao
Adam d produced it.
Lmao. No dude
"Why would anyone need a mirror in the studio" ... "That was a great lookin' riff" haha
Poppa Punker, to observe how they look and improve stage image.
Poppa Punker it is actually a very good practice method, it helps you to correct your articulation and see if you're actually playing properly
Adam D. is my personal favorite producer. The man knows what he's doing.
P he didn't produce the band
He really did his thing
True, but everything he does kinda sounds the same…
and he gets stroned
I thought I recognized Adam! He's the lead guitarist for KSE!
bkriegel95 ooooh hell yeah!
bkriegel95 yup, that's him
He's all over the scene, he's the one who fine tuned Parkway Drive's sound and produced their album Killing With A Smile and Horizons. Adam is an animal musician.
Ben Smith he was also a contestant on the Price Is Right.
Where the fuck have you been????
Nick Hipa is freaking boss
ADAM D, the best musican I`ve ever met,....
i love watching how bands work in the studio
Agreed. Also, hi 11 years later!
Agreed. Also, hi 12 years later!
Agreed. Aslo, hi 13 years later!
This guys deserve more attention! A lot potencial and power !
cant believe Adam.....ADAM D produced this band
you cant?
If this was a TV show, I would be watching it all the time.
Adam D is a Producer.. there's a difference between a label and a Producer/engineer. He records other bands that aren't signed to Metal Blade as well. One of the best for sure.
oh my god, how much fun must be to record with Adam!
that mario thing was awesome!
@cobhc1001
He did.
It's the solo in the single from the upcoming album "Decas".
The song is called "Paralyzed".
I could watch 1:22-1:26 all day.
Garrick Hoff gif this please
since i always re-watching this vids, so i tell myself that 1:17 this drum part is from Anodyne Sea breakdown, is also similar with Greater Foundation Intro
you guys rock.
Dude Jordan's a BEAST on drums :)
Yep. You kinda HAVE to be a beast to be the drummer for a band of this caliber.
Just look at Lars....
These guys are awesome
Of course 🤘
@IMakeMetal The masking tape is used to prevent the wobblyness of the strings, of course since the 6th string is the most with lag. Adam D helped As I Lay Dying produce most of there albums.
Adam D works at metalblade?! That's bad ass! As I lay dieing should feel honored to work with him
Adam working with these guys... wow amazing !!
Jordan Mancino is such a sick drummer!!
This was epic
I ever get big enough to choose my producer, I'm definitely choosing Mike D. without question, not just for his skill and talent, but simply it just looks like so much fun to work with him.
Can't wait for this album!
@whitemetal1000 that knocking sound is called click tracks or metronome. it helps them stay in tempo while recording. i'm guessing those tapes on their strings prevents the other strings ring out so it could sound cleanly
Phil Is frickin hillarious!! him and Adam D. is like the funniest mix :)
I loved Phil's evil look XD and Adam's mario imitation :D
Wow! I didn't know that Adam Dutkewich was a sound engineer of AILD
the guitar work sounds awesome! cant wait! :D
can't wait
Why am i not at all suprised to see Adam D in this studio... love how he kicked our own Parkway Drive in to gear on their first two albums .. 🤘Australia

Rofl I can't stop laughing at 0.09 When Adam D start laughing! xD
This album is so good
1:37 Paralyzed
I was thinking how is this here? hahah!
@deebald that's all against unwanted string noise, works really well, if you ever record guitar parts do that and you'l be having less unwanted sounds(but it facks up your strings )
I am definitely covering there single, when they release it.
Nick Hipa has used a Grey burst Washburn that looks a lot like a Dean Cadi. I cannot find info on what model it is. Does anyone know anything about it?
This is by far the best album they recorded
Awakened is really on par with it. Something about the loud and crystal clear Drop D riffs just gets me.
CAN'T WAIT TIL MAY 11th
@Commonsence345 yes, thats Adam D. he is a music producer
YEAH THAT SOLO AT 1:35 IS FINALLY OUT ON A SONG CALLED 'PARALYZED' ! WOOOOOW !
@whitemetal1000 that beat its the tempo so they wont get lost, and the blue tape its when they are doing a riff that doesnt use the strings they hold them so the riff will be clean, its gotta be album perfect.
2:12 "Oooh nice" :D
ITS MY BOY ADAM D!!! ITS THE DDDDDDDD
@whitemetal1000 I believe the knocking sound is a tremolo. It's used to measure beats per second in music.
@whitemetal1000 i think that is supposed to mute the other strings if they are recording a certain part like the solo, so they dont want the lower strings to hum and squeal with that high of distortion and gain on. your guna want the solo to be as clean as possible for the outcome of the song. hoped this helps :)

Adam D 😄✌
@Calibur43 It all sounds soooo good
1:35 is Paralyzed!!! hahaha, these guys are great...
man their solos are epic :D
@Maccelinho Itunes put a song with AILD which is called Paralyzed but it is a future release song so I think it is going to be in that.
AILD’s best albums are with Adam producing it!
I just now am realizing what Phil meant by “why would someone need a mirror in the studio?” 😂😂
Very good album!!
its sounding awesome, cant fuckin wait for the album.
@Hollesse01 they are basicly sub woofers for your base drum
Jordan, with the most heavy metal handle bar mustache ever
anybody know what's up with the blue tape on the guitar..? just wondering. sounds SO freaking awesome. i'm lovin it already.
1:40 sounds like the part near the solo on the new song paralyzed?
@soulsinger90876 it's called "Without Conclusion", 3rd track of this epic album.
Adam D. is the man...
Jordan is a beast drummer!
1:03 - so that's how Phil pronounces his last name.
I never knew
2:06 sounds absolutely epic
I thought I recognised Paralysed here. Makes sense that it was written here seeing as Decas came out a year later
@Calibur43 I hope it get released as a bonus track if it is, like on a limited edition version. If so I will buy it!
@MasterSergeF18 Not quite, it's called a metronome.
1:36 From "Paralyzed" :D
Adam is such a good producer/engineer I would love to pick his brain about this stuff.. when ever I see him I just ask him how the tours going and stupid kse stuff...
@HAiplaybass they taped the string so they reduce the noise
1:05 done! there ya go! i gave you enough! i gave u more than enough! hahaha
I'd give anything to work with Adam on a record, that dude knows his fucking shit
HAHAHA "Oh Nice" (2:14) I love it hahah
@Fabio81109 Nope. It was supposed to be Condemned, but Nick didn't like the last note. It "sounded too happy." So we now have the current solo with that epic trem at the end.
I can't fucking wait saludos Quito Ecuador
It is possible for the solo at 1:38 to be part of their Unreleased bonus song "Paralyzed". Just a maybe idk if they are gonna release that track anyway.
How did Adam ever work with that tiny Monitor? Not only is it about 15 inches, it's also square!!!!
@supertwister95 Im pretty sure he tapes over the strings so when he records he doesnt hit the other strings.
Whats that got to do with what i was saying?, I love the art work for this cover. Killing with a smile being my favorite album, deep blue being my favorite album cover.
adam is in this one too. he was in the studio recording vid of unearth. lol i want to help record my band album... but we don't have enough money HAHA
@dirtbikeflipper its within conclusion. pretty awesome song. well, the whole albums great

@cobhc1001 he did. it's on their new song paralyzed.
@Taclite YEAH! thats what it is...thanks for the correction.
Laying down the hot licks. A mirror in the studio? Long nights?
2:11 make my day
@ciloxix Im pretty sure its a Soldano Slo 100
