I absolutely love my A7iv. I shoot always in manual mode, I'm understanding of the exposure triangle and how to edit photos..One thing I've never tried is video, I have literally zero experience in this area and just don't know where to start. Your channel is awesome, liked and subscribed

Nice video man. I live in Bali and the temperature here is really warm around 28-33c. Should i get an a7iv? I'm afraid it will overheat easily here.
Or shud i get something like FX30 that has fan in it? But man, am gonna miss the 33mp and better low light.
I honestly couldn't tell you because I live in Canada and it's cold here haha... I was just on a trip to Spain where the weather was 25-30 degrees every day and I was using the Sony A7IV every single day shooting both photo and video. Never had any issues with it but I'm not sure could be different there. You might be better off getting something with active cooling like the FX30!
What is the burst rate for stills at uncompressed RAW?

Hi Stefano thx for the video. Question is the low light capabilities effected by the 1.5 crop in 4k 60. and how does it then compare to the fx30 in 4k 60 as then sensor that's used are the same size if I understand it correctly. ps still a beginner looking at my first mirrorless camera with video priority and its currently between the a7 iv and fx30 for me but I'm waiting to see what the fx10 will offer as it might become a option paired with a lens with image stabilisation. any help will be appreciated oh and in Norway there's only a $300 difference in price.
Hi to answer your question about low light performance. The 1.5x crop in 4k60 will not affect the cameras low light capabilities. Full frame cameras have better low light performance than APS-C because the sensor has bigger photosites. The photosites on APS-C sensors are much smaller. Therefore, imagine APS-C mode or the 1.5x crop when shooting in 4k60 like zooming in with a zoom lens. You still have a full frame sensor and it will still act like one, whether you zoom in, shoot in APS-C mode or in 4k60. It will not affect it's low light performance.
I do want to get an FX30 as a second camera but I couldn't tell you the difference between the two because I don't have the FX30. However my friend @KofiYeboah has made videos on both cameras comparing the two so I'd definitely check those out!

@Stefano Lombardo Hi I bought a used a7 iv for 2100 with the 24-70 kit lense? I have enough money to squeeze out one more lense, to replace the kit. I want something for hybrid travel work . What do you suggest?
It all depends on what you’re going to be shooting? Videos? Photos? Portraits? People? Landscapes? I’d be happy to suggest a lens:)

One detail that wasn't mentioned with a lot of Sony cameras is the self sensor cleaning function. I've actually used it before and it works pretty well and save you the stress and hassle of trying to clean the sensor yourself.
Yes! I know a there's other cameras that have that feature that's why I didn't mention it but yes it's a great feature!

Most cameras have this feature but it does not work removing sensor spots that inevitably show up with interchangeable lens cameras.
What you say about Canon starting at 4:50 is the sole reason I am abandoning Canon and switching to Sony, and why I am watching this video - to learn about the different Sony cameras to figure out which one is right for me. I’ve heard of so many die hard Canon users abandon the system after the RF mount was released. This was also the main reason why I switched to Sony last year. I can actually buy new Sigma lenses and use them on the Sony! Thank you for the support!
This is the best Sony camera you could buy for photo primarily and video secondary. It is the definitive choice as a B-cam to A7S3 owners. 33MP is twice the amount of pixels for professional photography today. If you still need more, get the R5 or get Topaz Gigapixel AI. Lastly, you get gyroscopic stabilization. This is huge for the newer Sony cameras. It is much better than you think. He further to mention this.
I am looking to buy something that does video well and can shoot photos of action. Possibly sports content. I was considering the a9ii as well but it seems the a9ii doesn't do video as well while the a7iv doesn't do photos as well as the a9ii. Since I'm trying to do the best for the price range of these, which would you say is the more complete option, knowing that either will be some sort of a sacrifice in part. Thanks for the info and advice.
From my experience, the A7iv is no good for action. I shoot stills of runners coming towards the camera with the 70 200 GM2. In the sunlight about 60 % of the shots are fully focused, 90% acceptable. When light conditions are not as good, as in winter, it's a challenge to get 70% acceptable with 10% fully focused. Google my name and Ekiden Strasbourg to see examples, no more than 10 % were fully focused on that day.
Also consider that the A7iv is only 8 FPS. If you use 10 FPS, the EVF shows pictures already captured, so you lose the subject. 8 FPS is not much for sports, for running, you end up missing the nice parts of the movement. For sports, I think 20 FPS is the right thing.
I’m in love with the a7iv, I use it as a pro. Photographer for client work such as weddings and couples shootings. It’s an amazing tool and i’m super happy with it

@@DrSwapnilSagarJain-NIRAMAY never had overheating issue, even when filming a wedding in 4k@60fps for over 2 hours.
@@Kevin.Wandertales today I tested my a7iv on 3 settings
At First I setup it on standard auto off mode with 4k 60fps 4:2:2 10bit and it worked for 20 minutes only
After that I put it on 1080 p with auto off on high after that it worked for more than 1 hour 15 minutes and it was still working and battery was 40% but I shut it off
After that again I tested it on 4k 50fps 4.2.0 10 bit on auto off at high it get warmed but it worked for more than 1 hour 5 minutes battery reduced from 98 to 52 percent and after that I shut it off with no issues.

For Real Estate photography and videography Should i buy the A7IV or wait for the A7V? Or maybe buy another camera that is better?
All cameras are good nowadays! It's not like back then when we had all this amazing tech coming out with every single new camera. Most cameras now all have amazing autofocus and pretty much all the same features. I think the A7IV would be more than enough for what you want to do!
Everybody is talking about Sony but few people understand that the camera is not really that important. Sony has great marketing , and that's it . I started photography with A7III (a lot of people talked about it) , after 2 years moved to A7IV , used it for about 1 year and guess what ? I got so sick of using Sony that I started wondering how it's like to shoot with Canon . So I moved to Canon R6 II . Long story short : Feels amazing in hands, 4k60 no crop , better screen, better colors , better autofocus , almost better then anything compared to Sony A7IV . Used to be a "Sony-Fanboy" because of youtubers . The only PRO in A7IV with Sony GM lenses = light weight compared to Canon. So, moral of the story : Don't be fool like me and let youtubers "buy" your camera. Buy what it feels right for you. Peace out!
If you didn't take your time to research what you wanted to buy, don't blame the RUclipsr. Secondly, we are at a point that you can use whatever brand you want and still shoot great photos. There are those who go for Sony, Nikon, or Canon for different reasons. Finally, every camera brand has fan boys - including Canon. 🤷🏾♂️

You forgot to mention the fact that focus bracketing is not in the menu and after about two years there hasn't been an update for this

You import the RAW photos into Lightroom. Edit them and then export ;)

is the A7IV similar to the A7S III in low light filming conditions at iso 12,800 ?
It’s important to know that the A7IV is not video focused or photo focused instead a hybrid camera hense why it’s not a A7SIV or A7RIV. Because of this the A7IV still preforms extremely well in low light situations but it’s dual base native ISO is only 800 and 3200. Not 12,800 like the A7SIII.
Yes they are similar because the A7 iv uses 7K oversampled 4k video. Which means turning 30mp to 8mp which will greatly help noise reduction and make it sharper than the A7s iii. The ONLY Reason to get A7S iii is rolling shutter and 4k120fps. But the A7 iv instead had very good photo capabilities, better IBIS stabilization.
The IBIS performance is nothing like a gimbal. I wish it was.
Also, there’s zero point to getting CF express cards if you shoot simultaneous cards. This is a pretty important detail.
Agreed on the IBIS performance, nothing like a real gimbal. I was expecting much smoother handheld, especially considering I just upgraded from a completely unstablized setup. But I guess that's the way most cameras are, until they're rigged out.
I love my Sony a7iv! It’s my to go to for video and photo! The one thing I really hate about it is the 1.5x crop shooting in 60fps 4K 😢

Next to my A7S3 I have had the A74 for 2 days: no crop at 50 or 60 fps! Setting with XAVC S 4:2:2 10 bit. Cropping only takes place with XAVC HS! So no crop problem with 4K and 60fps (NTSC) or 50fps (PAL). Since XAVC HS has longer GOP (Group of pictures) than XAVC S, less rendering power is required for S than for HS.
I really like a7iv but I am also thinking about other cameras like the lumix s5 mark 2 , r6 mark2 , zve1,or other cameras with similar specs .
those cameras are cheaper but I like the reliability of A7IV to not bail on me with the AF and other features .
The A7IV has amazing autofocus! Like out of 100 shots I take I might have 1 or 2 that are out of focus, it’s unreal! However I did hear that Panasonic has improved the autofocus on the S5 mark 2. I don’t know though I think if you want reliability, the a7iv might be the better option of those cameras!
Adding info about AF in Lumix s5 to consider:
1080p 24/25/30fps FF (Full-Frame) use PDAF. 1080p 50/60fps FF use DFD (old contrast method). 1080p 50/60fps APS-C mode use PDAF. 1080p with any fps higher than use DFD. 4K 24/25/30fps FF use PDAF, 4K 24/25/30/50/60fps in APSC mode use PDAF. 6K 24/25/30fps use PDAF.
According to most of reviews I saw R6 mark 2 is superior to a7 iv in terms of autofocus, image stabilization and wildlife photography
The biggest downside of canon is closed system and lack of third party lenses like Sigma
@@StefanoLombardoYT My experience is very different. For moving subjects in bright sunlight 60 % fully focused, 90 % acceptable, gets down to 10 and 70% when the weather is not as nice.
The 7iii is still a great option. My iv still feels brand new to me. The new tech is going to be awesome but it's more than i need at this time.

Which Sony cameras don't have rolling shutter?
A9s and A1 stacked sensors, and A7S III (non-stacked + lots of pixels=more rolling shutter).
I'm using canon r6 from last 1 year want to switch on Sony a7iv its right decision or not
The Sony A7IV was supposed to be comparable to the R6, however I think the A7IV is a better camera. You get more megapixels, higher quality video, dual native ISO's for better lowlight performance when shooting video, unreal autofocus, better battery life, no overheating issues, and it uses Sony's E Mount system which means you have a ton of lenses from different brands to choose from. At the end of the day, I can't make a decision for you. I've made the switch from Canon and it was expensive to re-buy all of my gear, so it's totally up to you and if you think it's worth it!

Is the Sony A7iv good for Basketball photography?
The A7IV shoots at a maximum of 10 frames per second in compressed RAW and 6fps in uncompressed RAW. For me shooting portraits, this isn't too big of a deal. But for anyone capturing a lot of action like sports, where you may want to hold down the shutter button and capture bursts, it might be too slow for you and you might want to look at a camera with a stacked sensor. If you're not going to find yourself in situations where you're holding the shutter capturing more than 10 shots per second, it's would be an excellent camera!

I was curious since I just bought the Sony A7IV a few months ago. Jumped straight to the disadvantages section. None apply to be. Never use 4k60. 🤷🏻 For reference I'm a "hybrid" shooter, but I'm 90-95% photography and when using videography I stick to 1080p60. Never had any issues. IMO no one can even notice the difference between 4k and 1080p. It's almost negligible to the human eye. Why shoot in 4k and use up all that extra storage space when 1080p looks 98% as good at 1/4th the storage space?
Personally for me when watching a 1080p clip on my 4k monitor, I can easily tell the difference between that and a 4k clip. Remember 4K is 4 times the resolution of 1080p. But I agree, if you watch both clips on a 1080p monitor, you can't really tell a difference. On a 4K display details in human faces are much sharper and I just like the look of it way more. 4K is a bigger resolution, so if I'm shooting a horizontal video and later I want to use that same clip for a video on social media, I can crop it vertically and still have a way higher resolution and high quality video than if I shot it at 1080p. For many projects, clients will also have requirements and almost always those requirements are for the video to be shot in 4K. So I hope that explains it!
coming from a7iii, the build quality of a7iv feels really cheap. especially the card slot door. event the buttons feels really cheap.
Interesting I felt the complete opposite! The card slot door feels pretty solid compared to some Canon cameras!

I've never had any overheating issues with it. It gets a bit warm when shooting but so do all cameras. They're powerful machines in a little body, they're going to get a little warm. A lot of cameras have overheating issues, so bad that they shut down and have a wait time until they start up again. With the A7IV I can shoot all day with no overheating issues!

Yep, he is a tech guy and knows so much stuff. However, I'm afraid of buying the same camera as him since I'll be shooting in similar conditions. In August, the temperature can climb up to 46°C and because this is for work and I have a responsibility to the customer, I can't take any risks.
I’m surprised only a few of these reviews mention the overheating. I’ve had the Sony A74 overheat on me in the middle of an event, so embarrassing.
