  • The nikon z6iii looks pretty sick. I have a z6ii and a zf. Not hating on it all, but I'm gonna pass on the z6iii.

    Bro making the bold choice of sticking with an 8 month old camera, what a spartan existence 😂

      Given the comments, it's a much bolder choice than I thought.

      @@BaileyDocumentary indeed. I’m just messing around. The rate of camera releases is wild now. I got a D700 in 2019 and just a month ago upgraded to a D850. I’m eyeballing a Z6iii some time around 2031.

    I bough a Zf the week before the Z6III came out. I felt it was the perfect companion to my Z8 and Z9. Great walk around camera, take pics of the kiddo and family. In your case, however, I think selling your Z6II and Z5 and picking up the Z6III makes perfect sense.

      Not a bad idea to be honest. I probably would consider doing that but picking up a used z8 rather than a z6iii. Way more camera than I need, but it would feel like a more meaningful upgrade to me.

      As I say that, I remember that z6iii has the flip screen which I like. I might actually consider that idea 💡

    If you have neither, want a true hybrid camera, the Z6 III is a clear winner. If you are primarily stills, Zf or Z6 II is good although I'd go Zf as it has 10-bit video vs 8-bit on Z6 II

    • @BaileyDocumentary
      @BaileyDocumentary  20 дней назад

      Yeah I generally agree with that. If I lost everything and had to buy again, I would likely jump into a z6iii for uncropped 4k60 and ergonomics. But it would be a marginally better camera for me and would still be tempted to save $500 going zf.

      @@BaileyDocumentary - I was shocked to see the Z6 III’s 4K/120 isn’t bad either. I expected the ugly blurry look like the 4K/60 on the Z6 II, but surprising the 120p is quite good on Z6 III. Who knows Nikon may update the Zf to give it 4K/60. It’s got the Expeed7 so it should handle it

    Do you carry a camera in your everyday life situation, what setup then or just your phone? They say mirrorless and DSLR shoot like computer and retro style camera is more fun, is this true with Zf? How about Hasselblads X2D, just a more refined mirrorless experience and might not be as fun? Does Zf pair with 28-400mm f4-8 will still be fun and manageable to carry and use in everyday situation?
    Hey Bailey, my name is Johnny and I'm a freelance logo designer, currently I'm looking for more works, do you love to have a logo for your channel's branding to have a memorable graphic based monogram logo to help your audience recognise and follow your channel easier? Thanks for comment! I personally love the experience shooting newer mirrorless cameras. My first "nice" camera was a canon film slr and I do think it's fun to shoot in that way too. For me, the modern auto focus alone makes portrait photography so much more fun because I can focus way more on composition now.

    And the autofocus?

    • @BaileyDocumentary
      @BaileyDocumentary  3 дня назад

      From what I've seen, there's not a big difference in AF from ZF to Z6iii. I'm so happy with the Zf autofocus, it doesn't matter to me either way. From z6ii to Z6iii is a different story.

    The Z6III is a far better camera than the Z5, Z6, Z6II and Zf no mater how you try to rationalize it. Yes, it is 25% more price at launch, but it is far more than 25% more camera. That doesn't work for you? You don't need all those improved and/or added features? That's fine. You know you, and you don't have to buy it. But then near the end of the video you say "follow in my footsteps and skip on this one." I don't get it. Are you thinking you are a super experienced and well travelled photographer/videographer and you have advice to give on what other should do? That's a whole lot of hubris, my friend, when it is obvious you are a novice whose journey has barely just begun. Here is some free advice: Make this channel about your journey to learn photography/videography and share that experience. Last thing we need is another camera gear shill.

      It's because he already had the Zf, didn't think the Z6 III was coming soon so it may be a buyers remorse thing?

    • @BaileyDocumentary
      @BaileyDocumentary  20 дней назад +1

      @ipgauto I wouldn't say I have buyers remorse, but I'd be lying if i said I am not a little tempted by a z6iii. But I really do not need the extra specs so I'm good for now. Uncropped 4k60 would be a nice-to-have.

      @@BaileyDocumentary - Either one, you’ll be happy. The IQ out of the Zf is stellar with higher dynamic range throughout the ISO range than the Z6 III, although it’s slight, due to the partially-stacked sensor. And when it comes to video, the Zf is more than capable with its very nice 10-bit video. I had the Zf for a bit, aside from the grip, no complaints for me. Enjoy it

    The z6iii is a much better camera than the zf

    • @BaileyDocumentary
      @BaileyDocumentary  23 дня назад +2

      It either is or isn't depending on your needs. It's also 25% more money.

    • @Yupthereitism

      @@BaileyDocumentary it’s better for all needs. The zf is only better in the looks department. The z6iii is superior technology

    • @BaileyDocumentary
      @BaileyDocumentary  23 дня назад +2

      And to be clear I really like the z6iii - looks great. But not better for all needs. More expensive and less compact are two downsides some folks might care about.

    • @Yupthereitism
      @Yupthereitism 23 дня назад +4

      @@BaileyDocumentary you’re reaching man, the size isn’t much different and the cost isn’t either. The zf is a novelty camera for hobbyists while the z6iii is for people who work. There no doubt that the z6iii is a much better camera with superior technology inside.

    • @BaileyDocumentary
      @BaileyDocumentary  23 дня назад +1

      I think you're splitting hairs and coming across really elitist in the process. It's more money for more specs that not everyone needs.

    Think most Z8 owners probably should have gone with Z9,
    Z8 is just Z9 with all of the extras made optional,
    so now instead of one Z9 body
    we have one Z8 body and a big pile of optional and fragile dongles
    --that introduces quite a bit of points of failure, points of complication--imho.
    A baby Z8 like a Z6iii would be more of the same issue.
    If there are things in the Z6 iii that wasn't in the Z9 then wait for the Z9 ii.
    When it comes to these price range of photography tools my personal take is
    they are at the price range where they probably ought to print money [for our business] or
    for some dentist who has everything and wants a high-tech reliable japanese Leica like a Z6 iii.
    If it isn't printing money for us in some photo studio then..
    why not just settle for one-inch sensor in some flagship phone?
    Stupid bright rectangle would at least always be on us, we won't miss a photo opportunity..
    That seems to be how I look at things in 2024.
    When we see how many features in a Z9 or Z8 or Z6iii
    seems to be selling to wildlife photographers
    it makes me worry. Wildlife photographers need all of the most extreme tech but
    is what they are doing...actually art? I really wonder.
    I mean yes it's very impressive that the master printer has quarter of a million dollar ink-jet printers and
    the lab's wall is painted just a certain color of grey and
    there's that $500 colorimeter and
    we are using exotic supertelephotos from CaNikony
    and there's this end-less memory buffer omgosh
    ..but..
    at the end of the day
    --what did we do? Aside from put on some camo and pointed a doohickey at a animal
    --that's art???
    It seems like the least artsy of imaging arts but I guess it certainly is the most technical of "arts".
    The people doing real art?
    They are still limping along with the Nikon D40 that bought from the thrift store.
    Daido Moriyama, one of the most celebrated street photographer--never once bought a camera
    --much prefer to steal (rescue??) dust-covered cameras that his friends don't even use.
    So.. as a device that just helps us screen-shot this or that so we remember better
    --a phone is fine
    --it doesn't even have to be a one-inch sensor main rear camera
    --any phone will do.
    And as a device to aid you in creating art? Mebbe USD$2495.95 at B&H for a Z6 iii is $2495.95 too much.
    Just don't get caught up in this gear lust and listen to your inner youthful artist. Alright?
    As for myself, I am still limping along with a D800E, and
    I might stick with it considerably more
    --I see myself waiting for a Z9 ii--that is--if lil dinky toy-making phone-makers like Samsung and Apple hasn't gobbled up the snobbish and clueless Nikon by that time.
    If I wanna travel light and not stress over regional flight baggage restrictions
    --I'll bring a phone
    --I don't have to bring a flagship full frame DSLR/MILC everywhere I go--I just don't.
    my current kit is old sh*t too:
    ..35art, 40art, 50g, 58g, 60g, 85g, 24-70ed, 70-200vrii, 200ed, tce 1,4x ii and that's just the heavy-as-fk japan grounded glass..
    --as a fellow failed minimalist you can probably guess that it's obligatory that I also have a whole room full of other doohickeys and photo-related garbage
    --but predominately: I just end up taking snaps with the phone--a smelly moldy iPhone 12 Pro that I can't even be bothered to upgrade.
    So, I guess my long winded point is: mebbe use our money for experiences and learning--avoid spending it on plastic-covered-electronics-that's-pre-determined-to-be-landfill-fodder-before-even one-stroke-of-its-design-is-on-Auto-CAD..

      I refuse to believe that this moronic drivel was written by an actual living human. You do realise that people choose the Z8 because it's a mini Z9 and that it's almost 5 grand cheaper then the Z9 and has all the features of the Z9 apart from it's body right?
