      Budget is a set amount of money you put aside for what you are buying. Someone can have a budget of 800 for a pc while someone else might have a budget of 2000 for their pc. Budget does not and never has meant “cheap”

    They separate the releases because Amd marketing department will never miss the opportunity to fail, if they released all together it would be 1 fail however separating like this they can get 2 fails within two months.

    • @oswaldjh

      Yup, every marketing team within AMD wants their own failure.
      It's almost like they compete for how much they can cost the company.

    While it's nice to see 5Gb Ethernet, I feel like some of these boards are going to cost enough that they should be coming with 10Gb.

    • @marioStortuga
      @marioStortuga 6 дней назад +1

      While I agree 5gb is a good middle ground.

    • @GearSeekers
      @GearSeekers  6 дней назад +5

      It's about PCIe lanes and thermal management more than anything. 10GbE controllers get HOT!

    • @TheGameBench
      @TheGameBench День назад

      @@GearSeekers Sure, but with the elimination of the 5Gb port I don't see a lane issue here. The MSi carbon is chock full of USB 10Gb USB ports, two 40 Gb ports, a 2.5Gb Ethernet as well as a 5Gb Ethernet. It just don't see this being a lane issue. As for heat, no reason they couldn't engineer the VRM heatsink to deal with it. The Asus ProArt X870E has 10Gb Ethernet and a ton of connectivity still and no special additional cooling.
      Nah... this is all about them spending too much on power delivery for a CPU that can't really utilize in. These boards could run Threadripper... it's absurd.

    This was the board I was wanting to hear about the most. Was planning on doing a full system build whenever the new X3D arrived, but originally that was supposed to be January, but it might be the end of next month now. Performance wise, the Lite doesn't perform any less than the higher end Taichi, it just has less "bling".
    edit: Sucks that it doesn't have the quick release for the GPU, and with how tight everything is surrounding the PCI-e GPU slot, it will be even more of a nightmare to remove a large GPU than it is on older boards that are not so crammed. Not really worth the additional $250 or whatever the normal Taichi will be though just for that.

  • @drewnewby

    I really appreciate the inclusion of those temperature sensor headers (especially because there are 3 of them). Until now, the only boards that I could find that came with them were Gigabyte and Asus, so it will be nice to have another option. I know you can get the Aquacomputer quadro or octo for temperature sensor headers for watercooling, but I've never been a huge fan of extra software and prefer to run my fan/pump profiles from the bios.

    • @Cairam0101
      @Cairam0101 6 дней назад

      @@philrdaly But with OCTO you can also configure and then forget about the software, even if you format the computer the information remains inside it.

    • @philrdaly
      @philrdaly 6 дней назад +1

      @Cairam0101 Yea, I know that, and it's nice to have that as a backup option in case the motherboard I want doesn't come with temp sensor headers. I just like seeing it included so I don't incur the extra cost of acquiring a quadro/Octo. The only two things I don't like about bios level fan/pump control are having to go to the bios to change the profile (which I rarely ever do) and if I update the bios, I'll have to input the profiles again. In that regard, the quadro/Octo definitely have that beat for sure. I know the aquasuite software is far more comprehensive, I just don't need the features

I have the X670E, I just hope Azrock isn't over charging for the new cycle, mobos should be $300 tops, it seems like every manufacturer charges an arm & leg when a .79 cent post code reader is implemented.

    Can you please share the dimensions of this board? I'm interested in finding out if I can fit it in the NZXT Flow 5. ATX is fully supported by this case, but EATX is only up to certain board dimensions. Thanks for a great review!
    Edit: I have found my answer, as ASRock has released their board details. This can fit in the new NZXT Flow 5 (2024), since it's 26.7mm in length. (Case supports up to 27.7mm EATX boards). I am not sure whether it can fit in Flow 5 released in 2022 and 2023. I'll do some measuring before I place my order when the boards are released.

    the USB4 takes Gen5x4 slot from the CPU directly but controlled with asmedia 4242
    this is the difference between x670e - x870e
    x670e with 16+8 gen5 to the motherboard
    x870e 16+8 gen5 and x4 of them are reserved for USB4 so technically it is 16+4 gen5 lanes for the rest of the motherboard

      Im in the same boat fam. Although I'm planning on getting the Be Quiet! Lightbase 600 now instead of the Antec Performance P1.
      My advice is do what I am currently doing, which is buy the parts individually over time whenever you can afford it(unless you can save a significant amount buying a bundle deal).
      Its less burdening on your financial situation and you can buy parts whenever they're on sale. Possibly save money that way in the long run.
      Currently i cant decide between staying on AM4 and upgrading my 5700x to a 5700x3d/5800x3d, moving up to AM5.. OR moving back to Intel and getting a 12700k/13600k (mainly because they are easier and more fun to overclock than AMD cpu's) 🤷
