    Why was there a rock to kick away from propping the door open in the first place? What if there has been no crash and the shooter silently came upon the door being left open? This was a bad practice on someones part to begin with.
    I have no idea if she was the one who placed the rock there, but whoever did should be talked to at the very least.
    It is good she kicked it away but if it hadnt been there in the first place she would not have had to kick it away.

      I think it makes sense if they’re actively using the door. Effectively, there’s no difference in using a rock to holding it open with your hand.
      The fact that it didn’t lock is the problem. I think her physically trying to close the door was probably the issue - those kind of doors are usually designed to close on their own, using the force of the closing door to latch. Because she tried to override the closing mechanism, it didn’t secure properly.
      Seems like a two-door system would be better so you’re not relying on only one door to secure.

They would have done anything including dying for their kids. that nobody on this day made any good decisions was false and to be arrested. I feel bad for the grandmother of the family who was shot as well. I pray that everyone can see potential that they all felt for these kids internally. I hope Arnulfo Reyes will find peace because he, teachers, police officers individually, grandparents more than likely replay in their mind the events that lead to this young man life and we all wish ("i hope") to be a bit kinder to those with disabilities, language disabilities, handicap, mental health conditions, or challenge(s) in general. People don't understand what i say when I speak. I had and still have the same problem as this shooter with communicating.

    I feel bad for what she went through. Nobody wants to be falsely accused of anything but it makes you question the person further if there avenue is to sue!! As I said before I feel for her and knowone wants that but to have all those symptoms tells me she’s putting undue pressure on herself and that these were preexisting conditions. Again to sue…makes me questions her motives and her issues. And I sure as soon as her name went public (bc the cop never mentioned her when he said the door was left open….only a teacher) there were a bunch of scumbag lawyers in her ear telling her that she could get money and how these people should be held responsible. When they are out for a money grab and leans me toward she is as well.

    • @AlcideIzMine
      @AlcideIzMine Год назад +1

      You're mistaken. She did fully pull the door shut. The automatic locks were not functioning on at least 3 doors. The families just filed federal lawsuits over it. The school either disabled the locks or failed to maintain them properly.
      But the teacher had no fault. She pulled the door shut and thought the automatic lock was functioning. It wasn't.
      A classroom door's lock also failed, but a male teacher had informed the principal about that one. Hence the lawsuit. School should've checked and fixed the doors.

      @@AlcideIzMine there is alot of stuff that goes on in little town schools. Who knows. It could be one of the maintenance guys got tired of the teachers griping about being locked out so here, this is how you keep the door from having the locking device working. Here is an Allen wrench. I mean 3 doors were not locking? To me that sounds like some lacking on whomever is responsible for the doors. I can very easily see in a tiny town of Uvalde teachers propping doors open out of it being a pain in the butt to deal with and also using Allen wrenches to disable the locking devices.
      Probably alot more to this than meets the eye.
      Now, does that excuse law enforcement and their lack of action after the fox is in the henhouse? Nope. But that is a separate issue.
      Moral for the school? If taxpayers buy locking system doors dont prop doors open and dont disable locking devices if the latter is what possibly happened.

    Point is staff and maybe students knew about the rock. The lie is that they were not propping the door. I have seen this practice in hospitals and other facilities. Smokers are often the offenders. I don't believe this teacher deserves all the blame. The door was supposed to lock and it didn't.

    • @cmnr8487
      @cmnr8487 Год назад

      no the lie is that the police said she left the door propped open, she did not. She left it open because she was going right back out when she thought the shooter was actually a victim of a car crash due to a medical emergency and didn't realize what was happening. As soon as she realized, she went to shut the door properly, and she did. The lock mechanism unknown to her, did not engage properly. The cops then after pussyfooting for an hour before doing anything, tried to blame it on her.

    • @AlcideIzMine
      @AlcideIzMine Год назад +1

      She deserves no blame. She pulled the door shut and the automatic lock was not working.
      Even if she hadn't gone outside the shooter would have entered the building. The lock was not working. The door was basically unlocked. He was coming in anyways since there was no functioning lock.
      That's something the principal should have checked. Automatic locks should be checked periodically.
