Mike, thanks for a great review and pointing out the flaws in this. This is one of those items that I am looking at getting and this review helped as it wasn't all just about the hype around it!
@@MikeBSalazar I think I will still pick one up as it'll help my work flow and be easier to carry than an actual gimbal. It is ideal for more of what I do. Thanks!
I agree with Adam, Another great review like always. Although it is so tempting to get this version, I think I'm going to skip this one and wait for the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 because of those flaws.. 🙂
The OP3 records 10-bit video, which gives you plenty of latitude to grade your footage. You don't need a raw codec. That would be an unnecessary expense to add to the device.
Great review! Just got mine last week. I like it a lot but it would be really great to have those zoom buttons that you suggested, or maybe an optical zoom lens. One of my main incentives to get this camera was that it is affordable and an awesome camera to have going into the summer, but I feel like the wide angles kind of limit how cinematic the shots can be... Do you know of any ways to get tighter shots be keep the quality?
I think for what it is and what it does, the OP3 is nearly perfect. The problem when you start adding features onto an already feature rich device, you start increasing the price. At that point, you risk affecting the sales of something like the OP3. If they could add aperture control without increasing the price too much, I would like to see that. Other than that, I think people just need to take the time to work for the shots they want. Too many creators want their gear to hold their hands like their toddlers. If I want to create good content, I know I have to work for it.
If I want to take it out in the wild and record myself while doing outdoor activitates and vlogging about it, maybe record myself (not in a selfie mode but let it record me) would it be a good fit or should I go with an action cam? What do you think?
What are you thoughts on the Osmo Pocket 3?
It sucks that you have to use a smartphone to activate it (while letting the chinese communist party spy on your personal data)...
Hey Mike, great video. Think I’ll take the chance on the pocket 3. BTW…who is your editor? I need a decent one.
Purchased the Creator Kits little while back, taking it on a trip to Colombia in a week. I love the form factor!
Oh it’ll be great for your trip!

I appreciate the feedback Adam, thank you! In the end, still no perfect camera 😆

I’m new in videography and the DJI pocket 3 is my first camera 📸
So far, I love it ❤, soon I will get the face filter .
Face filter?
@@MikeBSalazar meant ND filter 😂
Haters gonna say your zoom button is fake 😎 . I enjoyed your video 💯👌🏽
😂 thank you haha
Wait, did you mention your wife and your long distance girlfriend?
Hey, its the 21st century, we are not allowed to judge!
😂😂 my long distance girlfriend is now my wife. So i guess now she’s my ex-long distance girlfriend
Mind your business 😂

If DJI really adds those suggestions and more, it’ll probably be like $1000 😆
I feel like they could fix the focus breathing with a firmware update. Might crop a little, but it would be worth it.
I want to see the RAW video that's captured by DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and the after results, adding the color graded.

Agreed.
Thanks for the video. What would you recommend as a compact still camera to use along side the Pocket?
I’m using the Fujifilm XE4. But any APS-C or point and shoot would be great

Unfortunately digital zoom is the only way.

Agreed and well said. They could definitely add features but it would end up like the original osmo and cost more 😆
The Pocket 3 has a Product Showcase option if you need to focus on products.
It's the focusing up close and far away that isn't so smooth for me, but other than that, yes, there is this feature.
What brand of sd card did u use for pocket 3 pls
I used Lexar
32 Bit float without the Receiver?i thought IT would Just be Bluetooth Connection?
It is bluetooth connection. But the 32 bit float is captured on the mic itself and not the Pocket 3.
Brooo! We need a Osmo Pocket 3 vs Sony fx30 😅
hahah those are so far apart haha but who knows.. maybe
Loved it!
Thanks Francois!
Nice and informative video , just got it! Making videos 😀
You’ll have fun with it!
Thanks bro 🙌
Thanks for watching!
@@MikeBSalazar Would you ever talk about microphones?
@@Jon.Eleyet I am not an audiophile but the audio has been good enough for me. I do mess with the EQ a bit when I clip it to my shirt.

Oh this is much better for that than an action camera unless you really think you'll beat up this camera.
You got a wife AND long distance girlfriend? 🤔
Lit 🔥 lol
😂 theyre the same person hahahaha
