This Album is Way past my original Iron Maiden days of early to mid 80s... But This Album BEYOND Hit The Stratosphere for me... I was SO ECSTATIC... This song is all over the place but in ALL THE RIGHT PLACES... THIS and WILD WIND Are my Favorite on the Album. And the COVER.... JUST TOP....
The song's about bankers scamming people. It's plain for all to see and understand. The line "banker's face with just a letter out of place" (a pun on the word "wanker") leaves no room for doubt.
Bruce wrote this song in reference to the banks, and all of the corruption that led to the Great Recession. People were using their homes like ATM machines.....paper money. Loans that were ultimately doomed. El Dorado Gold.
Lol, not that it matters much in Metal, but "El Dorado" is Iron Maiden's only Grammy Award Winning Song..............., Also 3 Different Guitar Solos by 3 Very Different Guitar Players...., The Live Version of This Song From "En Vivo" is a freaking Grenade !!!!

This album was such an underrated gem to me. It gets a lot of flack from some fans, but I think it’s better than both A Matter Of Life And Death and Book Of Souls. On this album, Iron Maiden actually took some chances and shook things up (and why shouldn’t they; they certainly have deserved it…)

Lol I’m pretty sure we landed on the moon back and 1969. I’m only a 99.999% sure myself but if we didn’t I’m sure the Soviet union would’ve Claimed that we didn’t. The money was spent going to the note was insane. The difficulty of doing it still remains even with our better newer technology, but the amount of resources we put into it but part of the Cold War. There is people that believe the Earth is still life it’s never been flat and I don’t understand how someone could think that. Play to Poles in the ground about a mile away from each other and measure the shadow of the Sun at the same time they did this back in the 1800s probably before that but there is a spear. It is not flat.lol I never got into rap very much, but I know there is a lot of very good storytellers. I never got into country music very much, but there is also storytellers. You don’t always want a story to be told with Music but it is awesome if you get Melody, Story telling And energy from a song instead of energy drink that’s why I love Iron Maiden And bands like them. Sorry, I may have had too many monster energy drinks trying to get used to graveyard shift 12 hours a night, but still having a hard time sleeping during the day.
