Anyways, been to the DYE station on the icecap on many occations, first time as kid when still in operation, and last time was back in 2014. Was so lucky to get invited on a training flight with a ski eqquiped C130. There have been plans to somehow renovate the station into a hostel, but i dont know it has been cancelled or put on hold.
Just watching your approach into RWY 27. I was once on the ridge on a very windy day (cruise ship couldn't enter the fjord) and saw an Air Greenland Dash-7 land on the same runway and turn straight in to the apron. That was a real STOL landing Excellent flight and video by the way.

Great trip and video. I admit to looking on the DAI site for ferry pilot jobs 😂. Loved the low flying over the ice, on approach! Had a laugh at the GoPro end bit. I'm constantly forgetting to turn them on and off.

Foreflight’s icing forecast in their briefing is indeed way too pessimistic at all times. I use the Gramet forecast of Autorouter for icing info and I add my own conservatism to it. That’s also what I did when I crossed Greenland forth and back last summer

Since I´ve watched almost every ferry flight of yours (the very first one was you with Martin in the series "Crossing the Pond"), I´m corious to know all the paper work you and Diamond A. have to fulfill to acomplish the flights. In this video, you gave me (us) a glimpse before landing in Canada, but it would be interesting to know the requierements from diferent countrys such as the ferry to middle east and to Africa. IDK the rest of your viewers, but I´ll be glad and gratefull if you take the time to explain in detail this items. As always, cheers from NE Patagonia, Argentina.
I find the same thing Micke… ForeFlight clouds and icing is not good at all and GRAMET is very good. Do you have anything else that you use to back up or challenge GRAMET?
Nice video Micke. The approach over the glacier was awesome. I was thinking it is safer to settle in Greenland then Elon's idea to settle on Mars.😊 BTW have you met Hayley Herberg? she ferries DA aircraft from Canada to the U.S ? Seems like a very accomplished young pilot and I must say she is very pretty too. Safe Travels.

I agree, both Foreflight and RocketRoute usually overrate icing conditions. I also prefer Autorouter, which seems to be most accurate.
I’d say it’s better to play it safe and overestimate ice than to underestimate it!!

Brutal terrain. Garmin's synthetic vision could be better. It's not that telling of the brutality outside.
I’m 28 and afraid of flying but want to become a pilot. Does this make sense ? Should you only become a pilot if you’re not afraid of flying ?
