I have done the same flight myself and there is no way one can describe the emotions and beauty of this scenery. It simply must be lived. Flying low, from morning to evening seeing the light change the colours, and with no clouds is simply unique. Micke your 6h flight must have been among the best of your numerous crossing!
Those were some crazy amazing pictures you got there from greenland :D And it was really interesting to see how fatigue began creeping up on you.. Can't imagine doing a 6hr flight alone
Hi Micke, what a beautiful video; thank you for sharing this with us! I have got into the habit of programming the AP before the departure. That allows me to check whether the routing is entered correctly and compare it with the clearance. Finally, I have to activate the AFCS when up in the air without tipping a further button. For landing, I fly and train a landing decision point concept with the 62. Until LDP I fly with flaps T/O and 110 KIAS, then the decision to land is made and after that flaps LDG with Vtgt. That gives me the advantage of excess power for a GA in a OEI situation with a much better climb rate. My experience is 1 kt over Vref results in 20 ft/min climb rate. With the 62 with 110 KIAS, then 400 Ft/min plus over Vy climb rate until the Vy is pitched. Take care of you my friend and always happy landings!
mega cool pictures from above - if the time and situation allows it - more of them are welcome. You make me wanderlust - and that's good - thank you for that!
I really love all your videos man. Such a good display of love for aviation, the DA62 and piloting. Will you do a video explaining how you plan flights and set autopilot specifically in the diamon?
Great job, keep it up! I'm an ATPL student and I can't wait to complete all the theory exams and then start the IFR training and finally take the twin-engine rating with this fantastic aircraft!
Amazing, really enjoy your videos and this one is special from the photos, love how you highlight your learning opportunities and even some of your mistakes in your videos! love the scenery in this video

Cool video & congrats! Off topic but; how does the DA62 maintain cabin pressure when you have those small windows you can open next to you, at the front?
What was your air speed at 55% power? I know people have backed down to less power on this plane for longer runs, but that would have made your flight a wonderful 7-8 hours I would guess.
Just catching up on your vids. Just did my longest flight couple weeks ago 5.8 hours. Scenery was not as nice and the airplane not as sweet as that one. My bladder had molded to the seat by the time we landed, hard getting out.
It's a very long flight. I remember when I did 6.5hrs in the DA40 to Spain due winds and its a mammoth duration. I bet you needed a wee after that one.
@@MickeLang 6.5 hours flight time at 50-60% then 70% due to 60KT headwinds for the majority of the flight. Below was CBs so had to stay high and it was the TDI with extra range tanks ;)
@Micke Lang Yes, I was very close to diverting into PPG or MPL. But I worked out the last 20 of the 6hrs 20 was descent into Girona. Never again, though, my limit will be 5hrs 30 planned. Divert if it's above that. Luckily it was VMC.
Hi Micke! Could you tell the full procedure of how you organize refueling? Do you need to call or write an email in advance? Do you pay on the spot or are you billed later? Do you simply ask for refueling upon arrival? Thanks!
Interesting, I don't recall seeing the computer screen refresh in prior vids... beautiful flight, great fuel conservation. I hope the stewardess (sexist just to be funny) served nice meals on this long flight...

I think you're interpreting the wind not correctly on the GRAMET. The headwind you are talking about is actually a tailwind! The tip of the wind arrow shows to the right and the tail (feathers) is on the left, so the wind is coming from left, i.e. it's a tailwind.. but never mind, nice videos!
No I’m not, you have to take a look on the magenta arrow which shows the track (north west) and the wind arrow then comes almost from the front, it’s a headwind.
The correct theory is: in a headwind you fly high speed to be exposed the shortest possible time, in a tailwind you fly slow to be exposed to the tailwind the longest possible time!
The Da62 owners forum is full of complaints and disappointments. The shortage of spare parts and after-sales service seems to have almost become a standard package.
GREAT! Thank you so much. Linguistic and logical detail: When you arrive in a foreign country, you cannot wish yourself or fellow travelers a "welcome to Greenland" or whatever. Local people can do that, but not those who arrive. Linguistic nonsense that one often hears in cabin crew announcements by flight attendants or pilots who have rather little linguistic sensibility. Gilt auch im Deutschen: In Grönland anzukommen und sich und andere willkommen zu heissen, ist bestenfalls ungeschickt, schlimmstenfalls grob unhöflich.
