I just received the rotating screen mount kit and installed it today. Just want to let people know that the video is a bit dated. I have a 2023 Model Y and it was build in November 2023. There are a couple of screws that are not used in Model Y anymore, instead they are nuts. The tools that come with the kit are very difficult to use. Luckily, I had my own tools. Also, the instructions are “generally” accurate. I had to go back and forth between the video and the instruction sheet (that came with the kit), to figure out the install. Btw, this is a big one that was overlooked in the video and the instruction sheet, once you re-plug the screen, the screen will be black (as if it’s not powering on). You’ll need to do a hard reset to get the screen to turn back on. Push in the left and right scroll wheels at the same time on the steering wheel. Push them in for 10 seconds, you’ll see the Tesla logo appear, then release the scrolls wheels. I had a panic attack when the screen didn’t power back on. OMG! It was scary. Tesbro should update their video. I feel like this is a major point to let people know.
This was very useful thank you. The instructions that came with my kit were not as clear as this. I had a nasty moment when I thought the touch not on the screen was broken but a restart of the car cleared that’s up.
The silver plastic piece that goes behind the screen is hard to push in. I got the bottom in but the top portion those 3 tabs will not go in. I have Model 3 v1.0
Great vid. I look at my phone a lot in my 2022 model Y. If the screen gets lower, it seems like it will take that feature away. Is that right? Has anyone with a 2022 model Y tried it and still felt they could use and see their phone while charging ?
From my experience, it covers it up a little bit, but not all the way. Reach out to support@tesbros.com and we can send you photos and make sure it's what you're looking for!
Yes! You can select the option to pick up in store at checkout. If for some reason you don't see that option, send us an email at support@tesbros.com and we can make that happen. If you want it installed for you instead, I would skip the process of buying online and just request the service through the wrap shop here - wrapstudio.tesbros.com/#services
Question for you I’ve had it mounted for about nine months now and I find that it is swiveling a little looser than it used to be when it was brand new. Do you know how I can tighten it up so that the swivel doesn’t move from the center position to the driver position just as I’m driving. Do I have to take the whole thing apart again to tighten up a bolt or is there another method that’s easier without having to take the screen off again
Hi Bob, you don't have to remove everything but you should be able to adjust by tightening the center hex screw. You need to remove the trim pieces and access it and tighten that. Let me know if you have any more question!
This is very tricky, My screen did not come back and the warranty did not cover it and cost me 2000 dollars. don't play with these things unless getting a professional person to get the job done.
I tried this and broke my screen. Car still works fine. The swivel is great. But the screen doesn’t come on. Guessing I damaged the cable when unplugging it 😔
Turns out the model 3 has a ‘solid state fuse’. After about and hour it will reset if it was tripped. Sure enough, I just went and checked it and it’s working fine. So if this happens to anyone else, don’t panic, hopefully yours will be fine just like mine was.
Hey I could use some help I just installed this watching your video and when I plugged it back in the screen stayed blank. Note I was charging the car while doing this. took the charger out got in the car, screen came back on. everything works visually but the touch screen nothing works upon touching. Any suggestions? It's as if the screen is still locked while on.

Thank you so much. I too had a panic attack when the screen did not come on. All good now. Thanks

Glad this helped, James!

Should we be completely turning the car off first? Tesla Norwich showed me how to power down the car by disconnecting under the bonnet......
I also want to buy this product, but after assembling, the monitor goes down too much.

Thanks you make it look like it's really going to be easy to do? How long will it take? Henry
Yeah, it's not too bad! I'd set aside about an hour so you don't rush through it.
thank you

Nice video! Can this be purchased and picked up from your store? Do you all install? I’m in Chatt. also.
Thanks!!!

Is it worth it? Is warranty gets void? Thank you
It shouldn't void the warranty. Just have to be comfortable taking apart your screen.

@@tesbros thanks. I am glad to hear that. I will give it a try. Glad I don’t have to unplug monitor to get to it

Is there a screen mod out there that doesn’t lower the screen? Hell, I’d like to see it higher than standard if anything.
we'll look into that!
Nice upgrade!!
Does this in anyway invalidate the warranty on the screen?

Glad to hear yours wasn't broken! Great advice for future installers.

Id do a hard reset and may reset the touchscreen after. Hold down the two buttons to reset it.
@@tesbros yup. Tried that and all good again! Thanks!!!
Looks like it’s lower than 1”-more like 2”.
