Thanks for this video, it was way more useful than the instructions that came with my mount.
Having now re-instated the original mount, I have a couple of tips for anyone in this position (which maybe needed if you have to send your car in to Tesla, my local Ranger said that although they were great they would insist on it being removed if it went into the SC for any work). I’ve put mine back as the car I’m selling the car and prefer to return it to the original condition.
Anyway just two hints:
(1) when putting the screen back into the two sockets, it’s metal onto metal and the sockets in the car are slightly flexible. I rubbed a little lubricant in all 4 pieces (I only had Lithium Grease to hand) it slipped in so much easier with than without.
(2) when refittting the two bolts that keep the screen in place, getting the bolt to home onto the thread is awkward when it’s upside down, although it’s useful to use a socket wrench to remove these bolts, when you first refit them use the screwdriver style attachment in your socket set, this will give you more force directly being the bolt. For me this was the difference between trying to get one of the bolts in for about an hour and a minute once I’d changed tools.
With the screen back on without the tilt for a few days before the car goes, I can’t tell you how much I miss it already. Can’t wait for my next Tesla which will have the built in screen tilt.

Great improvement, you should do installs for $500. Although the installation is relatively simple people definitely would pay for your skills!

Is there any way to mount this so the screen doesn’t sit lower then it did while stock? I have 2023 Y and it now sits almost 2” lower than stock…. I’m a bit disappointed

Not that I’m aware of. As for the height, I’ve gotten used to it.

The screen appears to sit lower in the car!

It does drop about an inch because of the bracket.
