So are they saying that if we damage it ourselves during install it's not covered, but if it breaks on its own unrelated to our install they will fix it under warranty?
The one on my video is the only one I have. The code is probably a one time use… if you have another amazon account the code will probably work on that.
Understanding that the phone tray door opens about 3/4 of the way on older consoles, does that limited opening make it more difficult when inserting/removing larger phones (e.g. iPhone 12 Pro Max) from the wireless charging pad?
Correct it opens about 3/4 of the way… it will limit your view of the phone when it’s on the dock, but I do not have any difficulty placing or removing my phone (iPhone pro max) from the dock.
I noticed bracket was rotated effortlessly to install one of the mounting screws. I bought a bracket kit but I have a big problem so I have not attempted to install it. Much cleaner/OEM look compared to the alternatives on the market, and it even lowers it! It would be awesome to get the plastic covers wrapped on alcantara.🤔
if your screen doesn’t turn back on you need to do a hard reset, hold the 2 scroll buttons on the steering wheel for a bout 2 mins. The screen should come on with the Tesla logo, then let go of the scroll buttons. The screen will turn off again then the logo will reappear.

Evan, I am really impressed! What a great looking kit and you don't have to buy it from the guy that I have a problem with! I was surprised that they didn't have you power off the screen first. I watched Hanshow's installation video and the man used pliers on the edges of his bolts, even though he had the proper socket wrenches with him. Thank you so much for being the first Tesla channel to bring this awesome product to the market!
Does the phone charger door still fully open and clear the screen? (Only a potential issue prior to the 2021 center console refresh...but that's what I've got and I'm curious)
So it does interfere with the phone door fully opening (2018 Model 3). The door opens enough to be out of the way but it's clearly not fully open and will be a rattle nuisance when driving. It's not enough for me to uninstall I'll just throw some felt on the bottom of the bracket that touches the open door. But just FYI...
Correct, the door with not fully open which I do not have a problem with as I leave it open 95% of the time anyways. As far as rattling, I hear nothing when driving, maybe because I have a wrap on the lid?
When sitting directly behind the steering wheel, with the screen swivelled all the way towards the driver, does the steering wheel block any of the left side of the screen, from the driver's point of view. In the video, we only see the screen from the centre of the car. Thanks.
The screen will turn all the way to dash board to accommodate all drivers depending how tall they are. The screen can be set to various angels without it falling out of place while driving, there for not being behind the wheel. Hope this helps !
Ok. So its all fitted, a few snags. 1 it came with all tools included 👍🏻but instead of a 10mm torque bit they give you a spanner 🔧 which is of no use as it is to tight to get to the bolts/screws. 2 The plastic lever is very cheaply made and bends when inserted to remove the very first panel. 3. After installation it all looks good but when screen is tilted all the way to driver it hits the back cover and pulls the cover up slightly. 4. The stage where you remove the temp sensor, on the 2022 model you don’t need to remove the sensor but undo the two screws which is a lot easier and then screw onto the new temp cover. Im happy with the look and will see how i get on with the new position of the screen. The good thing is if you are not happy you can easily put the original back in place. Great video i would not have attempted this without your clear step by step instructions. 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi! Great video, thanks for sharing! Is there a specific way you had to hold the monitor while pushing it back in or anything? Mine is super wobbly vertically, I've tried taking it out and redoing it and it just seems like the bolts are grabbing the bracket to hold it in place, but aren't grabbing anything above that and therefore aren't anchored vertically. The screen wobbles about 20 degrees up and down and is super loose. It's pretty tight horizontally. Thanks!
Installed my mount with no problem, but now when i drive i get a plastic rattle sound. Im assuming its the face plate behind the mount as it does not “fully” clip in to the dash. Any tips so i don’t go insane?
Well... I just finished installing mine. Slightly different since it's a 2021 Model 3. I ended up with an extra piece. Long and couldn't figure out where it goes. It's not very comfortable to do for sure. But I like it, and my neck and back love it as well. Next design (improvement) has to keep it as high or higher than the existing one. That will make ir mor economic. TESLA should design and build it like that. Thank you for your explanation. Very clear.
Thank you for this great review and install tips! This sits ~1.5 in lower than stock. I've heard that it interferes with the phone holder door from fully opening. Can you please comment?
I’ve seen other videos on this and does interfere a bit. Opens like 3/4 of the way and then hits. This is only in 2018 to 2020 model 3s not the new 20201.
@@abccorals9418 that doesn't remove the incoming power to the screen. Chances are no harm will be done, but crazier things have happened and if you should short a wire or something you could cause some damage. It's just a good safety practice.
I like the mount that they provided, but that plastic cover looks like something I could buy from the dollar store. It looks so incredibly thin and flexible, I don’t like that aspect of it at all. If it as a sturdier plastic, you would get a much nicer looking edge against the dash.
Installed this in my 2020 model Y and find the door were you lay your phones hits the bottom of the mount and interfers with it opening all the way and the mount lowered the screen enough that it now that it hits my knee. Not happy with the design.
Also you need to let people know that they may need to do a hard reset on their screen to get it to boot back up. (Hold the scroll buttons down till the screen comes back up once you plug it back)

I watched Hanshow's installation video and the man used pliers on the edges of his bolts, even though he had the proper socket wrenches with him. Thank you so much for being the first Tesla channel to bring this awesome product to the market!
That's a good question do you have to power off the car or The screen? Im planning on installing it tomorrow
What is the brand of the swivel mount and how much!
its right here amzn.to/3iegDac
Great video, does this installation invalidate the warranty in anyway?
Does the phone charger door still fully open and clear the screen? (Only a potential issue prior to the 2021 center console refresh...but that's what I've got and I'm curious)
I have an update video on this under my channel if you can check it out quick. Thanks!
Does the left side of the screen get obscured by the steering wheel?
No sir! Nor does get near my leg when driving.
@@EMtesla1 OK, thanks Evan.
The best guide I've seen. I own an elantra though.
Ive now got the problem that something move on my screen as if there was a loose connection
Does this bracket tilt up and down as well ??
on the second version yes...
@@EMtesla1 excellent i have just bought one, it came today so it should be the second version. Just about to fit it !! Wish me luck 🍀
Great tutorial , thankyou
Cool video 😜
Could you advise where we can buy and how much is one set ?
Thanks 🙏
The links are in the description to purchase this. Thank you
Thanks!
Did you put in the 2 screws below the screen after you attach it to the mount? Also use a wrench that you can really tork down on.
I have only one problem with the tesla. Now it is solved.
Installed my mount with no problem, but now when i drive i get a plastic rattle sound. Im assuming its the face plate behind the mount as it does not “fully” clip in to the dash. Any tips so i don’t go insane?
I never hear a rattle sound on mine maybe you could apply some felt tape to the clips?
Very clear.
Does this void warranty
Thank you for this great review and install tips! This sits ~1.5 in lower than stock. I've heard that it interferes with the phone holder door from fully opening. Can you please comment?
I’ve seen other videos on this and does interfere a bit. Opens like 3/4 of the way and then hits. This is only in 2018 to 2020 model 3s not the new 20201.
I would however recommend disconnecting the 12v supply to the car prior to doing this...
No need just put screen into cleaning mode
@@abccorals9418 that doesn't remove the incoming power to the screen. Chances are no harm will be done, but crazier things have happened and if you should short a wire or something you could cause some damage. It's just a good safety practice.
Looking for the Model Y sensor plate that you will not require if you install on a Model 3.
Great video and great channel!
Is this the same as @techforum invented a couple of years ago?
This design is much better, in my opinion. It’s the same idea, but a much different execution.
Stolen IP.
very useful video!!
So I just installed my swivel screen. Only thing that I don’t like is…I had to remove the storage under the screen. 😢😢
what storage did you have?
Same install on 22?
sorry if answered... does it fit model 3 2021? thanks
Yes it does
I like the mount that they provided, but that plastic cover looks like something I could buy from the dollar store.
I would instantly buy this if I had a Tesla
Super awesome im buying one
Do have to shut the screen down before stripping down.
It's not required but you can certainly do it.
Can not You change angle vertically?
No just horizontally … turn left and right
Thx! This would have been so much harder to do without your video.
Thank you!
2022 model temperature control is different. I just shoved it in the hole and covered it with the plastic thing
Hey Evan, thanks for the video. Does this work on 2021
Model 3’s? I Get mine in a couple weeks!
Yes sir, it does.
Does it affect your tesla warranty if you make mods like this?
Yes it does
No
Does this work for the model 3 2022??
Yes, thank you
@@EMtesla1 temperature control is different on 2022 models. They’re bolted down to the plastic housing.
Also you need to let people know that they may need to do a hard reset on their screen to get it to boot back up. (Hold the scroll buttons down till the screen comes back up once you plug it back)
