Literally just finished installing this product with your vid.!
Couple pointers that were missed in your video...
* Make sure you put the screen on screen cleaning mode. I popped my funk on accident.
* for 2021 models the temp sensor is screwed on. Not clipped.
* The included hexagon screws will also work with a T-30 bit. Those screws also go in at an angle. So don't try to put them straight in. You'll have a hard time threading them.

I've heard that the new model S has a mount that was partially designed to swivel with motors! So, there's hope that future Teslas will have an automatic swiveling screen.
Here is my comment. 2022 tessie model 3. I ordered this swivel and installed it this morning. My only complaint were that the ads in your youtube were ridiculous. Following along and right at a critical point was the stupid ad popping up. The included instructions are typical in being garbage. If it was not for your video, it would have been frustrating. Your videos are excellently done and easy to follow. It was difficult getting the connector off the monitor, I could see people getting frustrated and damaging it. I would stress things like that a bit more. Well done.
I would Highly recommend youtube premium.
Tech forums is way smoother in its operation. People may not like the sleeve but who the hell looks back there anyway. Function is key to this product.

I bought a tesla model 3 2 weeks ago and have no interest in having a swivel screen, but this video was very well done. Why did I watch it? Out of curiosity. I stayed for the whole video because it was done well.
Does anyone know if they make a rotating mount that doesn't lower the screen? I'm not a fan of lowering the screen an inch and a half for swiveling.
Great video! Very detailed, and easy to follow. Well done. A 2021 Model Y has me, and although it is clearly a different vehicle in the video, the install was still almost exactly the same. The one difference I noticed was mine was a 30 Torx instead of a 25. Regardless, thanks for a superb tutorial!

Got my New Y this past Wed. Had to do this second, screen protector and Matts were first .Just Installed the kit...the real pain was getting the Thermostat under the screen and try to pull the plug, way too fragile from me to pull, so I left it and just unscrewed it from the original mount. Took about an hour, from planning and referred to this video which is great~great. Don't think I would attempt without it. Pricey hardware yes but what sold me instantly was the housing behind the screen, looks OEM for sure. Thumbs Up. Those other mounts look cheap behind the screen..
like it, however, with screen wire moving with screen, don't we risk the harness getting damaged ( sooner or later). would have been better to give an intermediate ( flexible and disposible ) connector cable.
Wow, I didn’t know that’s possible good job!. I would like to see the long term review on this. There’s an interview of Elon regarding to this - he didn’t want to make it adjustable due to reliability.
I was thinking the same thing, this looks awesome, but I thought, what about the cable being bent back and forth, how long will that last.

The guy at the Tesla dealership said this would void your warranty. Anyone know if that is true?

They can't void your warranty I don't think unless that they can prove that the item you added/modified caused the problem.

How firm is the swivel? Does have a/any locking point(s) throughout the radius of swivel? Does/can it move out of position on its own after a bumpy ride?
It's very firm.. has several locking positions and will not move not matter how crazy of a driver you are.
It didn’t appear to be firm and I didn’t see any locking points of hear any clicks but I assume the videos audio was dubbed over that and if he says it’s firm that’s more revealing than watching a video and pretending to know how much force he is using.
Well if you don’t believe me then you better try it out for yourself.

I would however recommend disconnecting the 12v supply to the car prior to doing this...

@@abccorals9418 that doesn't remove the incoming power to the screen. Chances are no harm will be done, but crazier things have happened and if you should short a wire or something you could cause some damage. It's just a good safety practice.

Do you have any tips for running some wires for an illuminated dash strip from this area down to the passenger foot well? Do I have to take the entire center console out for their to be a pathway?

Very helpful video! Has anyone figured out that extra piece of plastic that comes with some kits? It looks like a shim and has holes that line up with the mounting holes.
They started shipping this with the kit to fill in the possible gap on the top of the mount. Mine didn’t have a large noticeable gap though.
Should have been standard equipment, not the slapped-on OEM screen.

I have only one problem with the tesla. Now it is solved.
Much cleaner/OEM look compared to the alternatives on the market, and it even lowers it! It would be awesome to get the plastic covers wrapped on alcantara.🤔
Installed this in my 2020 model Y and find the door were you lay your phones hits the bottom of the mount and interfers with it opening all the way and the mount lowered the screen enough that it now that it hits my knee. Not happy with the design.

Rattles on bumps. Noisy. Don't know how to fix it.
Please make sure the mount is very secure on the bracket when tightening the screws.
Great video aid for install. My kit had a few issues Wich I was able to work out. But.
The console door under the screen CANNOT be open if you move the screen.

That’s what I have.
The title says "Screen Swivel Tilt", but the video and the link are for a product that only swivels. It doesn't tilt.
Understanding that the phone tray door opens about 3/4 of the way on older consoles, does that limited opening make it more difficult when inserting/removing larger phones (e.g. iPhone 12 Pro Max) from the wireless charging pad?
Correct it opens about 3/4 of the way… it will limit your view of the phone when it’s on the dock, but I do not have any difficulty placing or removing my phone (iPhone pro max) from the dock.

I like the swivel screen. Prob voids the warranty but it’s more usable especially with the anti glare screen protector on.
If it does void the warranty, it might be worth it on a 3 year or older car

Tesla can say whatever they want about what voids their warranties but the Supreme Court magnuson moss act is the law and that says Tesla would have to prove that the modification done caused the damage so if your screen just stops working Tesla would have to prove that the installing of it or the mount itself was directly responsible for the screen not working. Which they couldn’t unless somehow it really was the cause. They can’t just say because you changed your screen mount the screens warranty is voided.

No it does not. Anything goes wrong just change parts back to OEM
2022 model temperature control is different. I just shoved it in the hole and covered it with the plastic thing

Are Bromley and Teslamize the same company. The products look identical and the box they come in is identical as well.
Not sure… and yes I powered down the screen, however it appears it turned back on when I was just about to remove it.
Thank you for this great review and install tips! This sits ~1.5 in lower than stock. I've heard that it interferes with the phone holder door from fully opening. Can you please comment?
I’ve seen other videos on this and does interfere a bit. Opens like 3/4 of the way and then hits. This is only in 2018 to 2020 model 3s not the new 20201.

Further to my "Also avail at Tesmanian" comment ... their version 1.0 kits only include the M3 temp sensor plate ... bummer for me and my MY. If you haven't discarded your other one, I buy from you or anybody else. I'm in Canada.
Great vid thank you. But you made it look too easy just fitted mine RHD UK model 3. Would had really struggled without you r vid.
The only problem i see with this is if the screen 📺 fails and needs replacing. Tesla could refuse to fix/replace because you have tampered with the electric cables voiding the warranty.
There is no reason the screen would fail unless you drop it during installation.
After having this for awhile, how do you deal with the charger tray cover rattling against the plastic? Mine can’t fully open, it rests on the plastic from the swivel mount.
If you have some rattling, try out some felt tape.
So I just installed my swivel screen. Only thing that I don’t like is…I had to remove the storage under the screen. 😢😢

Thank you for the great video, as it was lot easier to follow your video instead of relying on the instructions provided in the box. It took me over an hour to complete the installation. Mostly because of the tight screws and trying to use the provided tools, which made it very difficult.

if your screen doesn’t turn back on you need to do a hard reset, hold the 2 scroll buttons on the steering wheel for a bout 2 mins. The screen should come on with the Tesla logo, then let go of the scroll buttons. The screen will turn off again then the logo will reappear.

If it doesn't move up and down it's kinda useless. The main reason to have a tilting screen imo is to reduce screen glare.

I like the mount that they provided, but that plastic cover looks like something I could buy from the dollar store. It looks so incredibly thin and flexible, I don’t like that aspect of it at all. If it as a sturdier plastic, you would get a much nicer looking edge against the dash.
Nicely done but honestly I don’t see the point in making my TSLA screen movable. Especially a model Y or 3 when that screen is what u heavily rely on. Now a model X maybe because it has a front screen dashboard besides the screen.

Wouldn’t void warranty unless Tesla could prove that the mount was responsible for for whatever repair you needed. Basically the screen could stop working and they would have to prove that somehow installing the mount or the mount itself caused it to stop working.. which the won’t be able to nor bother with

Fantastic install. This is the cleanest option yet. My only concern is eventually the wires in the wiring harness will shear internally from the back and forth motion. Hopefully not for many thousand cycles. If I were to get one this would be it for sure.

@@EMtesla1 temperature control is different on 2022 models. They’re bolted down to the plastic housing.
Also you need to let people know that they may need to do a hard reset on their screen to get it to boot back up. (Hold the scroll buttons down till the screen comes back up once you plug it back)

So it does interfere with the phone door fully opening (2018 Model 3). The door opens enough to be out of the way but it's clearly not fully open and will be a rattle nuisance when driving. It's not enough for me to uninstall I'll just throw some felt on the bottom of the bracket that touches the open door. But just FYI...
Correct, the door with not fully open which I do not have a problem with as I leave it open 95% of the time anyways. As far as rattling, I hear nothing when driving, maybe because I have a wrap on the lid?
Do have to shut the screen down before stripping down.
It's not required but you can certainly do it.

Installed my mount with no problem, but now when i drive i get a plastic rattle sound. Im assuming its the face plate behind the mount as it does not “fully” clip in to the dash. Any tips so i don’t go insane?
I never hear a rattle sound on mine maybe you could apply some felt tape to the clips?
