I hate that it sits lower but I agree that the trade off is worth it. I didn't realize it tilted up all the way when I first got it so I was really disappointed. But being able to tilt it up slightly makes all the difference
@@Nick2JZ For me, yes I tried, and it did NOT work. Nope. When the mount flips upside down, the middle of the bracket (where his fingers was pointing at 03:15) would hit against the white (or wood) panel in the back of it, and this prevents the bracket from being fully seated. So, when the bracket is not completely seated, the 2 screws on both sides can't go in. I tried. Yes, the screen will be lowered by about 1.5 inches. What you can do is to tilt up. That'll help.
Finally a video where you couldn't fit the back plate. I spent hours on this. It fits when the bracket is NOT in but as soon as it is, it wont clip in at the top. So not sure whether that's a Tesla issue or the bracket issue....
I had the exact same problem with the bracket trim piece bulging on the left side. Mine was so bad that I had to bore out the screw holes with a drill so that I could actually push the swivel bracket down farther into the Tesla receivers. I also filed down part of the receiver so that the bracket trim would sit more flush with the dash trim. What should have been a half hour install turned into a 3+ hour ordeal. It is 100% a Tesla build quality issue.
Pretty useful mod. Only thing I think that could improve it would be having the swivel have notches so you can try and set it in a certain position? Good guide though Brandon
I realize im not handy enough for this 😂 I could seriously eff up the car if i try anything, but thanks for this step by step tutorial. Man i would love this very much
Is there any way to mount this so the screen doesn’t sit lower then it did while stock? I have 2023 Y and it now sits almost 2” lower than stock…. I’m a bit disappointed
I will ask my Hansshow rep if there is any plans to make a swivel screen that’s the same height because I’m sure it’s possible. If one comes out I’ll be sure to update everyone!
I recently discovered a touch screen like the model X and S bug for the model 3 and Y and it's for the back seats passagers and I was wondering if you would install it one day ?
This style of video reminds me of the videos I made as a kid. I like that little Mount. I think the only reason it swivels isn’t a convenience, it’s so they don’t have to make separate models for RHD and LHD😂 and you forgot the steering wheel table link. Relatable
I just realised after installing the swivel that ii cant have the double shelf above and below the screen that connects magnetically. It was quite useful but amywaysm one or the other
Hello, great video. I am thinking about getting one. Since you made this video a year ago, has your thoughts changed about this screen mount? Has it ever come loose, etc?
What would happen if I live with a real Jack Massey Welsh and you want his screen rotation? What do you like the swivel stand or you’ve got for your screen Tesla flex?
Tesla doesn't like it and here in Austria they don't care as long as you don't have any problems with the display. Modifying the car yourself would effectively void the warranty. My recommendation: Do it only when you are out of warranty.
No thank you for this accessory. I am not fiddling around with my display and f*ck something up. I prefer landscape viewing mode anyway. I have better needed accessories to buy than this thing.
@@my_RS4if you modify your car warranty is void read your warranty. Don't be those guys who get mad something goes wrong and then when you bring it in to get it fixed it gets denied.
This shoud be standard for tesla
Yeah
Agree

Install the bracket upside down that makes screen higher 😊

Thanks for this tutorial. this has got to be one of the very best accessories that you can do to this car as far as the operator is concerned.

Once it’s in position it will not move by itself

is the temperature sensor for interior or exterior?
I installed this today and I am starting to get inaccurate temperature information 😢
Love all the extra info you provided. Thanks.
That looks so nice
Do you know if there is any mount they keep the screen higher than the stock one?

It’s really really nice but messing up a sensor or ripping a cord . I rather just the keep the thing with its original installation.

The horizontal single screen layout is what helps to make it convenient for LHD and RHD.

Will this work for the new model 3 refresh?
I didnt buy this exact kit, but no it doesn't fit

Your like the chrisfix of teslas!! Great job! I like the swivel.
@4:48, something Tesla would say. Quality control is lacking in Teslas. With all panel gaps
i just installed it, there's a small fix for the buldge in the kit

This certainly seems like a quick way to void your warranty for just about any function controlled via the touchscreen.

Stop stupid accessories on your Teslas. If you don't like the car as it is then buy another car.
