    Other Die cutting platforms recommend laying the die at an angle to the bed/roller, so that there are no cuts parallel to the roller and the forces are more consistent across the cutting operation.

    TIP for adding bleed to pre-designed cards: mirror it! Mirror the card in every direction. Many editors, such as photoshop or gimp (a free version of PS) can even let you 'tile' an image in a mirror, basically sending bleed out in every direction. Super useful and quick.

I will buy one as soon as it's available! edit: I can confirm running laminate twice is key. fiskars paper trimmer. It's like the the old guillotine trimmers but you slide a mini blade instead. It is perfectly fine for things like straight cuts for deck boxes and if you're sleeving the cards but it's hard to get cards that match up as clean as die cut.

And did the tweaks to further improve the mechanics, what would your advice as best practise. Does it for example help help to use royalty free art to lighten up your play cards when pitching your game to produces. What is your take on this?? Cheers and all the best, jeroen

    • @RachelBruner
      @RachelBruner  Год назад

      Thanks, Jeroen! I think having royalty free art can help attract playtesters when posting your prototype online. Getting feedback from others is definitely important for improving a game's design. As for pitching it to publishers, I'm not sure if it's as important. I haven't done much of that myself. Boardgamegeek.com has some fun little contests which is a great place to share your game to get more eyes and feedback on it.

      @RachelBruner  4 года назад

      Thanks! I'm definitely getting a one arm workout. LOL The metal die has edges in the shape of a card (with rounded corners). There are four of those in a row on the die. You place that on the printed page that has four images of cards. Run the die and plates (plastic sheets that go on and under the die) through the machine to create a lot of pressure, which pushes the die into the paper, effectively cutting out the cards.
