Best how to on this I’ve seen yet. Good job. There’s such a lack of content on how to do this properly. Good job!
Great video. The best I have found in RUclips for making fun proxies and art projects. Thank you!!!
Awesome video! Thinking about dipping my toe into the custom card pond!
I’ve been waiting for someone to upload this for so long , thanks!!!
Thank you! And thanks for sharing your svg file!
Thank you! It's really useful.
This is awesome!
Hey there!! Just had a question- the holographic cold laminate film looks good on the card but it costs a lot. Do you have any idea what I can use to replace the sheet that would also be affective? Thank you.
Great video - lessons learned 😎
you are awesome man! thank you for the video! liked and subbed!
wow! this is very easy and cool! i am planing on making a whole ton of these for e and my freinds! keep up the good work!
very nice effect
Awesome content. Great video and was very helpful. Wish you could do a tutorial for Photoshop and how to do the templates. 🙂🙂
Hi Ken,
Great video! I am hoping you can answer a question for me.
I recently attempted this but the holo sticker paper ended up washing out the blacks of the card. In addition, the holo looks very obviously like a sticker on top of a card.
I am wondering if you think I just purchased poor quality holo paper or if this is simply how the cards will look?
Hi ken that would be my question to me and to others if they could help me with what kind of good quality corner cutter you could recommend? (I'm looking for something similar to Kadomaru Pro) Or would I still have a question if, for example, at a thickness of 80 millimeters, would it be appropriate? (album and slevee)
Ty, i will show this to my kids
That’s bad ass, thanks for sharing!
Hello, could you tell me which laminate pattern you used for the front of the card? there are several options on amazon
I say , this is very cool !
I'm wondering how I can add some cool reflections on the cards?
Hi! Thx for the video! Which paper thickness do you use? The end result seems very thick after applying the holo, while the after print looks way softer! Would love to get your input! Thx again
They looks great!!!, the only issue is that the sticker transparent paper will get yellowish over the years, don't know if there is any solution to this or depends on the brand.
Dope video!
Do you know how to add texture to the cards? I am looking to make some custom cards with the look of a real card.
Hi! Thank you for this video. I'm making my son a birthday trading card, but when I print the image it's printing off a little smaller than what I sized it at. Do you know how to fix this? I also noticed when cutting with anything regardless of what it is, the photo paper cuts where the color comes off and shows the white..how do I fix this
Quick question if it's possible lol
How can I apply the sizes of the cards I need them to be on the template?
Thank you for the video! The link for the svg template is not working. Do you have an updated link 😀
I'm trying to figure out how thin these would be because I see people getting credit card stickers of these and I want to make one for myself but i'm not sure if this is how they're doing it or if this method makes them too thick and makes the credit card unusable so i need to find a different method.
bro thanks!!! now I can win random battles lol!
Hi there, I had a few questions. I am making some collectable cards for my students to be awarded when they achieve something awesome in class. 1. Do laminating sheets exist with Holo effects that you can slide a piece of paper into and feed through a laminator? 2. I saw some card sleeves that are holographic themselves and you can slide cards into. Do you think they would be effective? Thanks and awesome work 😃
I am not aware of any holo lamaintor sheets. Only cold laminates like shown in this video. Card sleeves with the holo effect, could work but it’s not directly on the card. I think the method I use now in the video is the simplest.
@@KenVersus Thanks for the reply and all the info. I can't wait to get started making these. I'm sure the kids will love them.
@@jamesc8968 man I fucking wish I was form your class that sounds fun😂
@@jamesc8968 lmao I wish my teacher was like u my teacher literally gives grade 9 kids dumbass stickers for a reward lol
I wish I was in your class cause I’m a good student :(
i need help with the inkscape step. i can't figure out how to get the template right.
Awesome tutorial!! I may start trying this out for my custom baseball cards. Do you know if using a sharpie for autographs on cards that have this on them would still work?
the holo sheets I got are porous so sharpie should work on them.
Hi, I really liked your video! I do have one question though, do you have any ideas on how to add a texture to the cards that full arts have? I'm not looking for a specific pattern but just the general grainy look and feel that full arts have. Please let me know if you have any ideas.
it's a process called embossing. you could probably attempt the process on a cricut machine if you have access to one.
i would think if you had a thick piece of paper like card stock, you could use a block of bumpy metal or something and push it onto the paper hard enough to leave a mark
Hey bro is it photo paper (one side matt finish but the other side which contains same Pokemon logo what about it is it printed in back of the matt glossy paper?)
Thank you for the tutorial! I was wondering where you got the image for the card back from. If you could share the link that would be awesome!

@@KenVersus thanks a lot!
Hi just found this video and its very helpful thanks a lot! One question is there a way on the templates you provide to make the alignment of the cuts to be more centered?I noticed when I tried cutting them out using a paper cutter and using the guidelines to cut as uniformly as possible that the back of the cards varied in centering still some were more skewed to the left, right, top and bottom more. Im kind of ocd about stuff lol
It’s really hard to get the backs to light up with the fronts. I have yet to find a solution to that. What I usually do is stick it to a real energy card so I don’t have this issue.
Can you make a video adding texture to pokemon cards. I'm setting up a store for custom cards bit I want to have cards that have texture. Could you please help?
May I ask where u get the rookie card case?
Whats the GSM of the paper you print on?? Does it feel like the cards?
Hey! What does the shining stickers called and what website can I buy them on? Pls tell me
Any tips for generating the style of art? Did you make the art yourself or use a photo generator of some sort? Looking to make a gift!
What paper is most like Pokémon cards?
Hey ken can you add a link to the corner cutter and cutting machine that you use please?
What would you use to stick the fronts to a energy card? Glue?
Maybe glue stick or spray adhesive
Does the card feel like regular paper or does it feel a bit like a legit card
I wish you'd walk us through Inkscape. I can't get the automatic alignments like you had. I have to manually adjust the cards in a pixel-perfect way, it's exhausting.
this was a great video but I have a few questions
1: how did you set up the layout on the program for print?
2: how did you get it to print out the front and back on one papr
3: what dimensions did you use for the layout to align the cards and the cards itself (i guess this would on question 1)
4: how do i put your custom template in incsape? the files i downloaded are html files
Si quieres también que el te las vaya hacer faltó decir
Hey I have a question I tried to make it but sadly it didn’t work and she said she won’t do it but does it work with normal paper and we don’t have that type of printer
What is the gsm of your printing glossy paper
the letters on my pokemon card comes out a little blurry. not as sharp as yours. do you know how i can fix it ?
This is great. Thank you. Just curious, how easy is it to peel the sticker off?
Impossible
When I click print it only shows your background not my cards. any idea why?
Perdón, pero no soy capaz de abrir el archivo que dejaste en la descripción. ¿ es por alguna razón? Muchas gracias de antemano
Sorry follow up question. Have you found any holographic paper you could print directly on to?
They do exist, but I find the toner or ink doesn’t stick to it well.
Is there an advantage to printing 8 cards per page instead of 9? Do card backs line up better that way?
Some printers can’t print 9 because it was pad the print area and cuts off.
How do I download your template?
Hi, anybody know if its good if i put holographic sticker and then laminate it? Will it damage the holographic sticker?
How print both side in one paper ? I can not . Front and back not match
Can you make a similar video for yugioh cards
I opened your template and replaced your cards with mine. However they dont print... ONLY the black squares in your template. Is there a setting you might have left on when uploading your template that prevents me from printing the cards?. Nice work btw!
That’s strange, I don’t there is anything that world prevent that. I use the same template.
Do the cards feel flimsy like a normal piece of paper or do they feel like the normal cards?
They will feel flimsy. They’re good for displaying.
So what about a hp printer?
how can i do without laminate
Can anyone link a template for this in procreate? Thanks in advance

Cool! I use poke pics and print my own cards based on animals I just use the real animal images they turn out a little big but it’s ok to me
Edit I don’t make the back tho
Can you make me a few of these?
how to make whith peper
Where did you buy holographic sheets
Amazon. Links in description of the video
IS the paper the same weight as the original pokemon card?if you want to be as close as its weight and rigidity, what type of paper would you suggest?
ok so i actually researched this and you need paper between 340and 342g/m² (glossy ofc) to match the weight of an actual card. Since this exact weight is not available you have to choose between 300g/m² and 400g/m², i recommend using 400g/m² so your card doesn't feel like some cheap fake kick-off. But this is ofcourse your choice: lighter and cheaper paper or heavier but better and more expensive paper. Goodluck with your project!
@@Fevdv thank you bro
Hey Ken I have a question what app do you recommend using to adjust the dimensions of the card before printing
I adjust it in Inkscape. If you want a separate app try irfanview or Gimp
Hi Ken, high fan here. Im having some problems to create my own cards, there is any place like discord where i can ask you some things? And thanks for sharing your method!!!!❤
I don’t use discord, but I can try to answer your questions in the comment section of this video.
@@KenVersus how many quality must have each card in px to looks perfect? And how many quality must have the final document aswell?
@@Cnnblt I think for a good quality print, you want images around 750x1050 pixels. The cards you find on pkmncards.com are roughly that size. You don't want lower res than that or it could look blocky. Some of the cards I created with PokeArt (iOS app) are 5MP (1890x2640). The higher the better. When printing with the Inkscape template, I print at 600dpi.
@@KenVersus Hello! I was just looking through comments to find a answer to a question I have, but this seems on the same topic of my question so I'll ask it here. How you print the pages? Did u export the project and go through extra steps or did u directly print it off inkscape? I have been trying to print on inkscape for a while, but I'm scared to mess something up like if the papers won't be double sided, be double sided with the same image on both sides, won't print in color, etc. If you print on inkscape, if its not too much of a hassle, I would like to know most of the important settings you had to change for it.
I print directly from Inkscape. make sure you set the scale at 100% so it prints the full size. My printer doesn’t do double sided either. I just flip it over. But trial and error to figure out orientation of the paper since each printer is different.
Is that really a laser printer? Because the image looks way too good on video. Usually laser printers print images in a lesser quality & DPI than an inkjet, even if the laser uses glossy paper.
Yup. It’s a brother mfc-9130 laser. Inkjet is still better though if you look really close up b
Template?
Do not use Deskjet printers for this type of printing. They are outrageously bad and the quality is almost always terrible in comparison to laser jet printers.
Do you mean laser printers or do you specifically mean LaserJet brand printers?
Umm inkjet photo printers have better quality than laserjet printers
can i pay you to do this for me?
Everybody gangsta till homie pulls up with post Malone v
