  • DJI pocket 3 firmware May 2024 | FPV lock mode?
DJI has a new firmware update Ver 01.04.08.02
What the !! is the difference between fpv mode and the new fpv locked mode?
Heres what i think it is after speaking to DJI.
Let me know in the comments if Im off base here
so we can all figure this one out!
    Cheers Bill
After playing a little more the only difference I can really see is the following:
In FPV mode as you move around. The camera head can quite easily be tilted up/down 'when twisting your wrist " which in turn can make the camera face the sky for example.
So if your filming some fast pased sport like running/football/basketball.
The camera head could miss the action
In FPV lock mode it always "rests" the camera at 90° to LCD screen. So if just moving side to side ( following a skatboarder for example ) it tries to keep the camera from pointing up if your facing forward...( it only faces up/down if you intentionally tilt the handle up/down.)
    if that makes sense! LOL
And as usual the info from DJI is just vague

You say that it's different, but if you move it around a little bit, you still have to double tap and recenter

I feel that the camera swings smaller and returns to center faster.

To me, it sounds like this would benefit if you're recording yourself and you look at the screen.
I guess you can use that as a point of reference of where the camera will be looking at if you're also doing a lot of movement?
However, I can't really think of a scenario where a lot of movement of the camera is involved but you'd also want to look at the screen and not at whatever the movement is... A little odd

When I put my dji pocket 2 on charge the green light is on blinking and it won't power on😢

when charging the green light blinks. But you should be able to press the side button and it should power on. Let it charge for a few hours. If not your battery may be diying. or not able to charge. You would have to contact DJI tech support
You can do a free live chat with them

after connecting to dji mimo, I can no longer order the photo or video function from the camera. A lock appears on the screen in a border. How can I solve the problem? thx!

I'm not sure what you mean?. a Yellow box with a lock in it means you pressed the screen down long enough to lock exposure . This does not stop you from changing to any other mode like photo or video. Just tap the screen again "once" to unlock the yellow exposure box

wished they added a proper fully locked mode that completely locks the gimbal instead of whatever they were trying to do with this

@@iLiekLemonade I totall agree like the FN button on the pocket 2 which just locked everything if you held it down for 2 seconds ...

just keep the joystick pressed for a total lock

      @billbuckleytutorials  Месяц назад +1

@@RawFiVideos Yes you can. However if you have the pocket on a monopod for example trying to do a rise up / fake drone effect. You can't hold the joystick.😒

The new firmware this year includes a disaster feature. I have sent the following message to DJI:
Please DJI remove this disaster firmware from the Osmo Pocket 3. I did a firmware upgrade. And now I have the following disastrous feature on my beloved Osmo P3: "Added cancel recording function. Users can press and hold the Shutter/Record button to cancel during recording. The footage will not be stored after cancelling....A disaster feature. Last weekend I lost several important video recordings because I pressed the red record button too long. Who comes up with something like that? To me, this makes the Osmo P3 an unreliable camera (you're kind of playing roulette with your recordings). Proposal: a) remove this feature via a firmware update; b) make the feature optional c) make the "press and Hold function" only work after 4 seconds.

I agree for some reason . Things that were good on the pocket 2 were not carried over . Such as Pressing down the FN button for 2 secs on the pocket 2 "locked" all axes. This function does not exist on the pocket 3 . Once you release the joystick eveything is unlocked . I also did an online chat to support . But I'm sure it will go nowhere. We'll see :)

This is a pretty useless feature update.
It would have been much more useful if a function to pause the recording had been added.

I agree . A better function would have been to add an all lock feature ( locks ALL axes ) like the older Pocket 2 had
