    I love this guy’s videos. No extra talking, calm voice, very little background noise, no extra info. So rare to find a RUclipsr who isn’t in love with his own voice. This guy’s channel is my go-to for gardening everything!

    I just bought 4 Viola plants from Walmart and have collected at least 50 seeds so far! I only paid $3 American for them! By March I will have a ton of seeds! Harvesting my own seeds has been so much fun! 2023 was my first year gardening, so this is my first experience with Violas. This is why your video popped up in my feed. I want to learn how to grow and care for them properly. I'm happy your video popped up! I also love your voice! Subscribed :)

    Hello there so I was new to planting violas. I actually did plant them the first time. I did not know they start off green and then the flower comes out. I love lavender and I have planted that aswell. When I smell lavender it makes me relax and sleep I just love the smell of Lavender. My uncle told to research about violas on RUclips so I did.

      I have a bag of dried lavender next to my bed. It is very relaxing. Keep safe.

    I do this with their pansy cousins. However, violas I direct sow into the garden. The key is to add new seed each year as violas revert back to smaller plants with less colour variety.

      Same here, but I worry I started too late. They are taking so long to germinate. I’ll be planting my tomatoes before I know it. I might have to just buy some and wait to start the seeds for fall. I hear they don’t like summer. I live where I can overwinter them it seems.

      Hi Monirul. Pansies were derived from violas, so pansies are violas but not all violas are pansies. Keep safe.

    What’s the name of the compost you are using? I cannot find any that’s not chunky with pieces of wood.

    • @LearnHow2

      Hi Gayle. It is called Humax but since the move away from Peat based composts it is no longer available. I will have to find a new brand for this year. Keep safe.

    I really like those violas that are a very deep purple, close to black even. Does that variety have a specific name?

    • @LearnHow2
      @LearnHow2  2 года назад

      I am not sure. The seeds were in a mixed variety packet. Keep safe.

      Hello, if you are in the States there is a seed company called Select Seeds and they're on the internet. They offer the most exquisite flower seeds from the time of my grandmother...before all the hybridization ruined the fragrance. They even have a frilly carnation with a scent absolutely beautiful. I bought dark purple/black viola seeds from them.
