@@laytonjr6601 and funnily enough, in some ancient greek text, because of superstition about using the name of the god of the underworld, they did literally would call Hades the Zeus of the Underworld or the Zeus of the dead because they kinda used Zeus as a stand in for "head god of..." in some instances.
As an addict of Epic: The Musical, I love reaction content. I get to revisit all the music I love and see how others interpret the songs and how they vibe with the things I liked myself and whatnot. Truly this is one of my favorite reactions I've seen. It's something about the pure enjoyment and intensity in which you connect to the characters that make it so this ride will probably DESTROY YOU... In a fantastic way. I really hope to see more. I know it's more long form and whatnot but doing them via saga isn't a bad way to listen either. It's like getting the whole chapter of the book done at once, rather than a couple of pages each time. Either way, Loved this reaction and love the vibes y'all have sooo... Can't wait to see you guys in the next one.
You are both so delightfully awkward, (I mean that in the nicest way possible) and I'm super excited to see your reactions to the entire story. That last Saga... Just can't be beat by any piece of modern art. Please keep them coming!!!
She's so coy and measured trying to guide and provide context. I would've not been as composed. I would've been word vomiting and being a bit much with the lore and extra facts. 😂😂😂
20 songs in and traumas already. 😅 Just add Alex’s therapy bill to the rest of ours. 😝 In explanation of the guitars (if someone hasn’t beat me to it already), an acoustic guitar has a hollow body and relies on the body to amplify the sound that comes from the reverberating strings. An electric guitar has electric pickup and the body is usually a thin solid body, though that doesn’t really matter as it’s the electric points that picks up the sound, and it doesn’t rely on the body shape. You can still hear the strings on an electric without an amo, but it’s very quiet. An acoustic electric has both. So it has the hollow body, but also has the electric pickup that can be played through an amplifier. Hope that helps. 😊
Great reaction! Hopefully the next vid doesnt have as many bugs Cant wait to see his reaction to the rest especially if he is already attached! Cant wait for him to meet polites
I believe some of these animatics had CC on and other cases no CC so it's best to try and check which ones beforehand so he can read the lyrics. Like when you asked him to listen closely to what Zeus says, I'm not sure if that very video had pre-made CC and not Auto but I do remember that it should be there.
Spoiler for our guy, so I hope he won't read it hahahaha, but I just realized something (again) this may probably have been pointed out by some reactors or commenters already....but I now only realized that at 13:37, they have the same tone from "suffering" where the siren was answering Ody the way to evade Poseidon- "He will chase you high and low..." which to me it implies that no matter what "better" choices Ody thinks of to avoid the worst possible outcome, he's got no escape either way (i.e. sacrifice 6 men or all of them will die; kill the infant or the downfall of his kingdom/family once that child has grown and become vengeant)
It's just the beginning of the video yet and I already want to say something: if Alex doesn't know the name of the main character, don't tell him! (Sadly this means no merscy animatic for the Troy saga, unless you cut the part I'm thinking about)
Welcome to Epic: The Musical. Get ready for many twists & turns throughout it. This is the start of the Troy saga, and each saga has its own official concept album. If you need a playlist or two to help you out then here you go: Playlist of fanmade animatics for the songs: ruclips.net/p/PLxaQhCe0jHN7xFJxvNlCW7HtQyxnPxAbr Playlist of just the songs: ruclips.net/p/PLbqsLXjyXw3iDPFOcGU13VL0E7lEtlup7 The watch party video of the entire musical featuring the cast of Epic: ruclips.net/video/hjotpDjR5YM/видео.html Note about animatics: Most ones done for the first two sagas (Troy and Cyclops) use the old versions of songs (i.e. the versions released before Jorge Rivera-Herrans (maker of Epic and voice of Odysseus & Polyphemus) had to remake them in order to actually make money from them), so if you notice any song quality differences between the animatics & the album versions that's why.
I would say that "terrible person in the future" is... a complex question. That is to say, calling the Greeks the good guys here wouldn't really be accurate. The had a war because a kings wife eloped, and... sure, that's a big insult and all. But you don't get to call yourself the good guys when you unmake an entire people over it. I would kind of say that Odysseus was the bad guy here - the one to bring down a city that was just defending itself over a technical point of honor. The baby has greater justification for vengeance than the Greeks did, to whatever extent you think vengeance can be justified.
I both love and hate that animatic for Just A Man. It's so well done but I HATE that it reveals his decision. Jorge intentionally left it vague until Monster for the dramatic effect of that song.
okay but Jorge ALSO literally wrote in the canon live stream visuals that Odysseus lets the infant go so I wouldn't really say he left it "intentionally vague". It's just something that has to be shown through visuals because it would have been very difficult to show it musically. Yes sure, it could have been lyrically mentioned in following songs, but that would not have made sense in context of what the following songs are about. Adding to this, with Ody singing "Forgive me" in Just a Man it doesn't really leave much room for interpretation. There is not really a lot that could have been referring to other than killing the infant in context.
There were a few technical difficulties with recording (it's a miracle we got this video together), so apologies for some weirdness with audio! We will try to get it fixed asap! Hope you enjoy! ❤❤
