Oh, it seems like you had just a snippet of a song for Storm! The animation is great, however i cannot recommend you enough to listen to the full song in your free time, it's really great! So for "Keep Your Friends Close" Aeolus is more warning Odysseus and also showing that some men don't believe in him anymore.
In "Ruthlessness" it was showing how Poseidon is one of the most prideful, merciless and feared gods of the Greek pantheon. In his first few lines he was referencing that Ithaca is a port city so they should be worshipping him, however they worship Athena more, in some versions of The Odyssey, which Epic is based off of, Poseidon gave the idea of the horse and either Odysseus takes credit of it or just not say anything. It was a tradition to pray to Poseidon before traveling across the sea, they didn't do it when leaving Troy so blinding Polyphemus instead of killing him was like the last straw for him because he wouldn't have known nor care if Odysseus had killed him or just not say anything but giving his name allowed the Cyclops to pray to Poseidon for revenge. I have also seen people say that if he gave a proper apology everything would be fine and that couldn't be farther from the truth. Poseidon was never going to let them live because then he would be a hypocrite.

@@JoeySings Most welcome, Greek mythology and stuff like that interest me so much I went looking into them in my spare time.
Even in the versions where Poseidon doesn't give them the idea for it he's responsible for it working.
A Trojan priest sees through the ruse and is trying to warn people, so Poseidon sends two serpents to kill him.
Some accounts even have the priest be one of his priests who is also his grandchild.
He really has been extremely gracious for a god and for him in particular.

if i had a nickel for every time a musical reaction youtuber called Odysseus stupid for immediately agreeing with Aeolus, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

probably the "do not just say yes to bargains you don't know the consequences of" from fae tales. of course, this is greek mythology so the god might be so offended you didn't trust/worship them enough to immediately accept their bargain that they would just kill you, so....
In this saga we got a massive storm, Odysseus's luck running out, a femboy wind god, and Poseidon's ruthlessness. This is my favorite saga of epic so far.
Aeolus (I have no idea how you spell that, sorry) is not a femboy. In this musical she is genderswapped. Usually shown as a man, here as a woman

In another comment I saw you say you can’t please everybody when it comes to what animatics you put in your videos. I think that’s true but what matters in the end getting to listen to these amazing songs and understanding the epic story. Regardless, my personal recommendations for the Circe Saga are Gigi for Puppeteer, Ximena Natzel for Wouldn’t You Like, Anniflamma for Done For, and Anniflamma again for There Are Other Ways. Whichever ones you pick I hope you end up checking out others in your free time since there are so many talented artists out there! Love your reactions and great video!!

I only said that because so many people are saying “I watched the wrong video” in a community full of talented creators there should never be a wrong video. I appreciate you for actually recommending videos and not just doing what the others are doing and telling me I watched the wrong video without a suggestion. So thank you so much for this.
@@JoeySings The only way what you watch could be "wrong" is in the sense of getting just a snippet or the unfinished version of the song. Even that isn't really wrong, just a case where you probably want to check out the full version like you did with Storm.
The animatics are all great and I hope you keep getting to enjoy them.
@@feistsorcerer2251 Well, you could also be wrong if you do the 3d stage animatics like a bard vtuber did. Even the plain lyric videos can be correct but those 3d models are just awful 😂😂

Great reactions as always. Sorry you're getting so much criticism. I would definitely recommend checking out the finished audio for luck runs out just so you can hear it, but there's nothing wrong with the animatic you picked. That one and lampyrcys are both great, and each have pros and cons.
The storm short is also good, but I am glad you've gotten to check out the full version now.
In general if a song is shorter than 2 minutes or sounds unpolished it's probably an animatic made with the pre release versions of the song. So far I think all the rest of the songs it's easy to find full animatics with the finalized song though.
The animatics of any length are always worth checking out though. Every creator is unbelievably talented and I never get tired of looking at them.

You've got 2 sagas left, and then you're stuck waiting with everyone. A new one gets released every 2 months or so, so we hopefully won't have to wait long.
The only thing with Lampyrcys is that it makes this moment seem like something it's not, that's the only complaint I have with theirs
@@carlycchapman I can definitely think of a few other cons that basically aren't an issue once you're familiar with the song and intention behind it.
It misses showing the rest of the crew being there, and can be a little misleading for some people as far as Odysseus' emotions. I've seen several reactors confused about why he's so happy and upbeat after the losses, and some of the people I've shown it to have wondered if they had supernatural abilities that they hadn't noticed yet.
Since it's more anime stylized, the expressions tend to be a bit more exaggerated, which makes for a great watch when you know what's going on but in my experience can confuse some viewers.
The one he reacted to by TJ Make is pretty in line with what was available at the time but does also miss the context of the full song, and doesn't really show a change of scene when in mentions them talking in private.
As for pros, they both are very expressive, and I love the designs in Lampyrcy's. The effects and visual metaphors used are very creative and I personally don't mind someone having a shippy take on stuff. It's always fun to see how people are interpreting things.
It's why I'll always recommend people watch that one, but don't recommend they watch it for their first exposure to the song.
For the one by TJ makes I really enjoy the expressions and the back and forth given. I like the little bit of comedy you get with the crew trying to pretend they aren't listening in. I feel like it's a pretty direct adaptation of what was available at the time, since the backing vocals hadn't been added yet.
Like I said before I think they're both great, and both have pros and cons.
I'm glad that it seems like those other things aren't a con for you though. It means you can enjoy it even more.
I agree with Odysseus in Luck Runs Out. Not entirely, just that his brother should have pulled him aside to express concerns, and not openly question Odysseus (who is the King) directly after they lost men for the first time in this trip. It’s important to keep morale up.
I suggest checking out AnniFlamma's animatic for Ruthlessness, it's just as good as Gigi's.
Also, it looked like you noticed Posiedon throwing Odysseus' "I am your darkest moment" back at him, but not the fact that it calls back to the "when does a ripple become a tidal wave" from Monster. Talk about foreshadowing from the second song of the whole musical.
I remember when I first watched ruthlessness and my heart went heavy while watching it, over the course of the musical so far, I had goosebumps and chills

Poseidon singing about how ruthlessness is also mercy can be interpreted as a call back to when odysseus revealed his name to the cyclops as a perceived act of mercy. Yes it was in a way mercy to the cyclops, but it wasn't mercy to himself. If he had just been ruthless and left that cyclops to think his name was just "Nobody", even if the cyclops told poseidon about it he wouldn't have pinned it on odysseus and would've thought it was literally just nobody who hurt his son

What makes it worse they were so close to the shore of their home but the crew got too impatient and they were sent miles away from home because they didn’t listen to Odysseus

For the the Storm it should have been Ximena’s version since it the only full one. And Luck Runs Out, it should have been Lampyrcy’s version, other than that it’s good. Ruthlessness is my favorite!

I’m not trying to criticize or anything. I’m just saying that you would had so much more context, especially with the storm because it was not short but more of part of the song only. But you did your best so I’m glad that you’re enjoying this. Just keep this in mind. If this song is less than at least two minutes then it’s not a full one. Most of the songs are three, two and a half minutes or even four minutes so that just heads up
Lampyrcy is the only one with the finished audio but had the drawback that a lot of people I've seen react to it end up confused about the tone of the song and don't realize it's being sung in front of the crew because of the style of visuals. Every animatic has trade offs with other ones, and sometimes having the visuals closer to what's intended by the song can be better for a first watch.
Nobody is going to be 100% happy with all the video choices because we all have our own favorite picks, but he's doing great as is.
I have some unsolicited advice you're free to ignore. I know you're not intending to criticize since you've said you weren't, but saying "It should have been x" does convey disappointment or criticism to most people.
If you don't want it to be taken that way you could try just offering a suggestion for ones for him to check out in addition to what he's seen, and mention why you think they're good. Doing that ends up sharing what you love with other people without implying you know better or that they did something wrong.
I used to communicate the way you did here and it would end up upsetting or hurting people, so I've learned to communicate the other way the hard way.

You said something about a Percy Jackson movie when watching Ruthlessness. Fair warning the Percy Jackson Fandom are ruthless when someone mentions the movies since they were so terrible compared to the original books. You're reactions are fun to watch, but you seem a bit shaken with the songs I suggest just to take a day or 2 break since the sadness only increase from here however you are past the most gruesome song.

@@JoeySings I know you didn't I just wanted to inform you that the movie bothers many in that Fandom including me do to it change the books plot and have many inaccurates about the books and the mythology that inspired it, but I doubt anyone would be mean about it since you didn't do anything wrong.

As a creator who supports EVERYONE there isn’t a wrong a video. When I asked for suggestion you could’ve told me which videos you’d recommend but you didn’t. So to comment this isn’t helpful and rude to the creators who made the animatics I did watch.
