That little bit of stick is a good thing in a brand new auto. They use a very specific coating to allow for even and repeatable wear. This is why I like to wait to oil these styles of knives to allow them to properly break in which helps with lifespan of all operating parts as well as blade play. Some knives certainly take longer than others for proper break in but once properly broken in you can greatly increase life span with some nano or similar style oil as well as dialing in your pivot screw for even better, solid blade locking to eliminate blade play.

I have a ProTech that had the same blade movement that you experienced when you first opened the knife. Mine was due to oil on the blade notch that the button lock seats into. Once I eliminated the oil there was no more movement and the lock seated all the way.

Somehow I haven't owned a hogue . They have been killing it.
I normally wouldn't have bought a Hogue, but they have all been absolutely superb. I have the Deka in carbon fiber with a tritium insert & the Rsk-1 & I just got the same in an Auto. Zero regrets & Imo, they do a better job than Benchmade.

I been eyeing Knife Works’ Doug Ritter selection for sometime thinking “Great Knife for a great cause I need to save me pennies and get one someday!” and this just adds to the options. Normally this is where I say “thanks for sharing”however your just had to show the K320 and it’s 4 position pocket clip and put that back on the radar…Thank, thanks a lot …can I borrow a few buck so I can get both?

I think when the button breaks in it will be fine. The button looks coated where it locks up with the blade.

The button grinding starts going away pretty quickly after a few weeks of deploying 10 or 15 times a day.. i have zero issues.😢

Not a huge auto guy, and still really need to get a regular Ritter hogue.
Yeah those regular ritters are definitely in short supply as far as I can see with the exception of the minis....
They seem to only produce them a few at a time and not often. I must have signed up for notification because I was able to pick up a full size a few months back. They went quick. The non auto Magnacut was also available shortly after I bought mine but I’m holding out on the Magnacut version hoping someday they’ll run it harder. The Magnacut version didn’t last long either.
