David shultz ended up hitting a reporter on the back of his head on a tv show in 1983 on pro wresting from orders from mcmanhon and got sued and fired!!
They need to start broadcasting this show in syndication. I'd watch it over and over. Can you imagine this being shown in a " sports bar" nowadays? Lol
Schultz started laughing when Wilson said he “went to Australia and the promoter wanted to sleep with him (Wilson).” The promoter in Australia was Jim Barnett, an infamously homosexual promoter. I think it was then Schultz realized this guy actually WAS in the business.
I met David Shultz once. Told him he's a hero. Any man who saves children who have fallen in the hands of abusers deserves my respect. He's awesome, inside and outside wrestling.
He also deserves to be recognized as a great wrestler if it weren't for Vince McMahon and his fuckery over the years. thank goodness the Canadian Hall of Fame recognized them
I saw this show when it originally aired !! It was a very spirited conversation to say the least !! Shultz and albano were so worked up!! He just chose the wrong time and place to divulge the secret workings of the industry !!

If AEW or WWE put out a program that let the wrestlers say whatever they wanted like this show, they'd have a license to print money. Bring in old guests, let them holler, let them say whatever they want. But most of all, let them be REAL without a script. Instant gold.
Patterson displayed one of the more unique promo voices in the business, speaking in a low, smooth and rhythmic cadence that mirrored that of Black actors during the blaxploitation era of cinema. His catchphrases included “Can ya dig,” “Let me tell ya somethin,” and “We gonna get funky.” His style was imitated by white wrestlers such as Dusty Rhodes and Brian “Road Dogg” James.
The show wouldn't make it on the air. In all fairness, this show wasn't on the air that long. Mort wasn't saying anything, he was just yelling. That sort of thing is dobe by "The View" these days.

This is a great interview. Beneath the kayfabe is some very real sentiment. R.I.P to Thunderbolt Patterson and Jim Wilson. They tried to make working conditions better for all wrestlers and for doing so they were slandered, attacked, and blacklisted.
This is better then most wrestling programs now a days. This when wrestling was good when the wrestlers speak like they believe the bullshit damn I miss it
We so need Dr. D to be a debate moderator. “That’s your damn time up buddy and if you don’t like it we’ve got a bus outside that’ll take you right back home to San Francisco!”
Paul Heyman calling in to bash the guy on stage and discredit his experiences to protect kayfabe is hilarious. Dr. D, legendary racist, arguing with the Black dude and saying there was no discrimination in the business is comedy gold. Obviously we all now know that wrestling is fake, that there was rampant uninvited homosexual encounters by the promoters, that there was blading and racism...but the boys working so hard to protect the business was honorable, while at the same time tragic for the men who got raped, jobbed out for not playing politics, discriminated against, etc. Love how Captain Lou dodges the "real or fake" question by saying he doesn't know what other promoters do, but in his experience bookers always put guys who would win versus lesser guys to manipulate the outcomes. He sold that lie so well, even Mort bought it and didn't press the issue. Racism and man-rape aside, the world was such a better place when we believed wrestling was real. Schultz started laughing when Wilson said he “went to Australia and the promoter wanted to sleep with him (Wilson).” The promoter in Australia was Jim Barnett, an infamously homosexual promoter. I think it was then Schultz realized this guy actually WAS in the business.
Could you elaborate more I noticed Shultz going more laudable toward him than actual anger
I met David Shultz once. Told him he's a hero. Any man who saves children who have fallen in the hands of abusers deserves my respect. He's awesome, inside and outside wrestling.
