The twist at the end of Split was that it was connected to Unbreakable. They never even hinted there was a connection during the marketing. The music was what gave it away. One of the best theater experiences of my life.
No, we didn't know, not until the end. Then we realise Kevin's dad was killed on the train that crashed in Unbreakable. It was great and a fantastic twist as usual. The dance Hedwig does is great. It's about a guy who's shot dead and comes back as a zombie. I think it's fantastic, the legs in the air gets me everytime 😂
@Raven_Luna_Tick I haven't seen Glass. It's obvious in Split his dad was killed on the train. Before he becomes the beast, he lays flowers on the platform.
I know he had a lot of roles but he put his whole heart into this performance, every time he changed to another personality I got goosebumps EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
It's a nice touch that when he's the kid (Hedwig) he can't push the door open in the beginning with two of the girls holding it, but easily forces it open when he's the grown man with OCD (Dennis).
Reminds me of Norman Bates knocking out sam Loomis but minutes later dressed as his mother about to stab Lila crane in the fruit cellar hes easily taken down . He's much weaker when his mother has taken over
When it came out we didn't know it was an Unbreakable sequel. We just were enamored with the brilliant acting by James McAvoy, and when watching this movie, enjoyed it genuinely until we started hearing the Unbreakable theme and thought "WAIT WHAT?" and then when Bruce Willis is actually sitting there, it was basically one of the best twists in history
McAvoy's performance in Split and Glass are so incredible, but it will for a good long while be underrated, largely in part to this simply being a Shyamalan film. This movie is favorably regarded, but even so McAvoy is on another level with this one.
It was a total secret! Though looking back at the poster, I totally should have known going in. Though when I saw it in the cinema I was the only one that audibly gasped when it name dropped Mr. Glass and showed David Dunn at that diner. I wish I could watch it again for the first time without knowing again.
I remember watching this for the first time a year or two after it came out, having no clue it was connected. I was with a group of friends and as they started talking about the guy in the wheelchair it dawned on me. The gasp I gusped even before Bruce Willis shows up had all my friends looking at me crazy. I was MIND BLOWN! Edit: Also, whenever I do something stupid when I was drunk I say to myself. "That wasn't me, that was Patricia." xDD
We watched this without ever seeing Unbreakable so the ending confused the heck out of us. When I looked it up and found out we went back to watch Unbreakable afterward lol This was my first Anya-Taylor Joy film and I love her in this. And it goes without saying James McAvoy = whole body shivers watching him in this.
When I saw this, I had never heard of Unbreakable or anything about it. I watched it over and over thinking how could not been nominated for an Oscar. This is a master class in acting! The only thing is, it just reminded me too much of Sally Field in Sybil (1976.) She was dead solid perfect in that role. No one really knew she had that kind of range. She deserved all the awards and praise she got for playing that role. I feel the same about James in this film.
I love this movie. I know there a lot of people in the community with mental health issues who did not like this film and believed it caused more damage by romanticizing trauma and mental disorders as being "more than".....but I really liked the way they wrote that & James McAvoy's performance? Standing ovation. Phenominal actor. Looking forward to seeing him in Speak No Evil. I think he'll play a great villain.
When this came out in the theater, we had no clue it was a secret sequel to Unbreakable. They didn't market it that way AT ALL. I will never forget the feeling I experienced when I heard the Unbreakable theme coming in at the end and then when Bruce Willis showed up, I almost fell out of my theater seat! The coolest reveal ever!
Was it marketed as a sequel? No. When the Unbreakable theme started playing I started freaking the hell out.... pretty sure everyone around me wondered what I was going nuts over 🤣
I remember when it was coming out and I never knew it was part of the Unbreakable universe or I would’ve watched it. I never even knew or saw it until Glass came out and I connected the dots.
As far as I remember, they never marketed it as a sequel. That was also very clever because it is not really a sequel. Of course there is a connection, but the film works on its own. Also, the time gap between the two movies is way too big.
The great thing about "Split" is that just as some viewers were ready to dismiss the film for its wild third act, the "Unbreakable" music started playing, and Bruce Willis appeared at the end, which drove the audience wild and that was the twist that it was part of the “Unbreakable” universe.
Movie recommendation: Shot Caller (2017) starring among many others Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister you know) and Jon Bernthal. Family man Nikolaj makes a mistake and winds up in California state prison, and once inside it's sink or swim. Movie opens with him being released after his time is up, and we follow his struggle as he tries to complete one last deal he can't back out of, and his time is prison and what put him there is told in flashbacks. It had me riveted like very few movies manage these days, the one that came close would be Sicario (2015). Stellar performances and an absolutely haunting score.
I popped in the movie theater. My roommates didn't know what it meant, but as soon as I heard the music, I was like, wait a minute, are you fcking doing this, and there was Bruce Willis. My roommate was like it doesn't mean anything. I was nah bro, you gotta watch unbreakable
I never watched Unbreakable as a kid but I did watch this when it came out. Didn't get why it was so dramatic til I saw it posted online about the connection. Immediately intrigued me to go watch Unbreakable and loved it. Was excited for Glass but was kinds disappointed
This movie - though I love Jame McAvoy, was written to give DID a VERY bad image. It also says things about it that arent true. It is not possible for a fronting alter to give the body temporary diabetes, for example.
Something i only just realised....he has 23 personalities - there are 23 chromosomes in a human being....the 24th personality is 'the beast' and no longer human, he is superhuman - he keeps calling him the 'evolution' of the hoard....just peaked my interest :)
Unbreakable and Split are great films. Mr. Glass, even though the acting is good, is a waste of time; it’s terrible and full of plot holes, terrible dialogue, ending, etc. Sad that the trilogy couldn't be all great films. And the film wasn't marketed as being connected to Unbreakable; no one knew; that's why it was a twist when Bruce Willis showed up at the end.
The twist at the end of Split was that it was connected to Unbreakable. They never even hinted there was a connection during the marketing. The music was what gave it away. One of the best theater experiences of my life.
They definitely did not market it as a sequel to Unbreakable. An absolute banger move!!
James MacAvoy was so brilliant in this. I felt he deserved way more recognition in the role. Anya was also captivating 😊
He should of won an Oscar for this ..
one for every personality

Oh yes! Someone mentioned the train thing to me on Patreon. Very cool how they connected the movies like that.
Bit of a dick move spoiling the reveal that happens in Glass, of Kevin's dad dying on the same train in Unbreakable.

I don't remember this being marketed as a sequel. From what I remember, everybody was shocked it was in that universe with the last scene
Patricia also gave that random tiger teeth fact.
James MacAvoy is superb.

Nope, there was no mention or reference to Unbreakable until that twist right at the end!
James McAvoy is outstanding in this movie.
peak McAvoy, peak Shyamalan, such a pleasant surprise :) when it came out nobody knew its connected :)
Betty Buckley aka Miss Collins from Carrie(1976).

I get that but he’s also supernatural. Like he ATE someone, but I understand some of the discourse
Great reaction man, loved the excitement you had throughout. :)
Thanks!

Love this Movie😍 James McAvoy is Phenomenal & this is the movie I discovered Anya Taylor-Joy...
I remember something to the effect of "from the minds that brought you Unbreakable" or something like that in the trailers.
I remember when it was coming out and I never knew it was part of the Unbreakable universe or I would’ve watched it. I never even knew or saw it until Glass came out and I connected the dots.
i ve seen this movie a long time ago and I was so mesmerized by this movie, very good

A lot of people don’t like Glass
I think it was great
The Bruce Willis cameo was completely unexpected
The audience went crazy
Waiting for Glass reaction especially since nobody really does that movie through RUclips
Same. For some reason i can't find a single reaction to "Glass".
He aperantly did, But it's copyright blocked
If you check his M Nigth Shamykan playlist it's there
@@jesusramirezromo2037 Yeah already figured out, reactions to GLASS get blocked in some countries.

Such a good movie James
Macavoy is so good in this movie 😎
This was a good watch, good video 😊
Yeah, had no idea it was connected to Unbreakable. I had pretty mixed feelings about it watching it in the theater tbh
I popped in the movie theater. My roommates didn't know what it meant, but as soon as I heard the music, I was like, wait a minute, are you fcking doing this, and there was Bruce Willis. My roommate was like it doesn't mean anything. I was nah bro, you gotta watch unbreakable
Terrific movie! As a psychology fan, it is fascinating.
Such a good movie and grear movie reaction ❤
Didn't James win a academy award for his acting in Spilt?
If you go into this film knowing it’s an Unbreakable sequel a great disservice was done to you. Same thing happened to me.
it would be nice if more movies existed connected to unbreakable, split and glass
or tv show or comics
I never watched Unbreakable as a kid but I did watch this when it came out. Didn't get why it was so dramatic til I saw it posted online about the connection.
Immediately intrigued me to go watch Unbreakable and loved it.
Was excited for Glass but was kinds disappointed
o i forgot about the girls!!!

Ya se porque no le dieron un Oscar no sabían a qué personalidad dárselo
It’s called DID now it’s not been called multiple personality disorder for years. The personalities are called alters.😊
Not market as a sequel.Once again twist from Mr.Night ..15year after 😱
Glass reacciona a esa
To answer ur question the answer is no
I actually basically hated this film as i felt it basically could give a real bad impression to people of what mental illness does
This is wen Anna Taylor Joy looked so hot ... before she stopped eating ...
oh no .. 😂
She also like barely an adult? Wasn’t she 19? People loose fat in their face sometimes and their bodies change, she’s extremely beautiful now and then
Shame Glass sucks

He was eating her VergeJJ
the unbreakable reveal was the primary twist
