Inès de la Fressange: Onetime Face of Chanel & Karl Lagerfeld Muse - #TBT w/Tim Blanks - Style.com
Starring: Inès de La Fressange, Tim Blanks, and Karl Lagerfeld
Ines de la Fressange really had the coolest walk and such a who gives a crap attitude on the runway. She was gonna do what she felt like and it was perfect.
I think that Inès de la Fressange was so much like Chanel in that she represents the classical French woman, simplicity and elegance which only belongs to an certain elite class of women. She the icon of French fashion.
That was a cool throwback to late 80's Chanel it girl, Ines was really beautiful and classy, no wonder why Karl chose her as his muse. I want Tim to do an episode about his favourite fashion moments and his life.
LOVED her then, LOVE her now! Icon🙏
Thank you Tim, I've always admired Ines. Please make a video about the Chanel haute couture show where Linda Evangelista was the second-time bride (spring 1991). Or the fall 1990 couture show where there were 3 brides (Linda, Christy, and Claudia).
I have both of these shows but on PAL DVD
+ILIUSCOV do you sell copies? (Even through email?)
And Tim Blanks is an icon, too.
OMG, we need more ines’s on the runway..seriously!!!
My favorite!!!Innes is the best, love her book!I cant get enough of her posting videos for Roger Vivier,on youtube! So glad u profiled Innes!
I love the TBT series!! Tim please start back doing the current it girl model moments Id love to know what girls you're currently fond of.!
I don't think the Marianne debacle was about being bourgeois but more about monarchy/republic because Karl proposed Ines to walk down the catwalk in a dress covered with lily flower, the symbol of the monarchy. And anyway, the Marianne is considered more popular than bourgeois
Yeah I was going to say, Marianne is not supposed to be associated with the bourgeoisie… what an odd comment they made
No one else like Ines. Unique
Could you or have you don't a piece like this on Dalma? She was wonderful back in the day. Thanks.
I love this series !
Thank you for this 🖤🖤🖤
I just learned something new.
Thank you Tim!
focus on the infamous Perry Ellis show by the little known Marc Jacobs- the grunge collection that changed fashion forever. I was and still are grunge. I remember being so freaked out seeing and reading about it in Vogue. I think it was spring 1993 and look whats become of our little marc!
Aly Dunne deserves a piece of throw back. She is legendary.
She is my idol
Could you do a report on Rei Kawakubo, pretty please:)
A brief but oh so good report!
And in the US had a foreigner designing for an American company who ended his business and personal relationship with his muse because she proudly represented the most prestigious invitation to incarnate the national emblem, well, lets just say he would have been fired and her rehired, him, never to be heard of again
Inès est un esprit ( drôle!) et un physique ❤
What was he talking about with the "Marianne" thing?
diornotwar123 I guess he meant Marie Antoinette, the French Queen
tanmay kawadkar
Marianne and Marie Antoinette have absolutely nothing to do. Marianne is the symbol of the French Republic ( the present )while Marie Antoinette represents the French Monarchy ( the past ).
+tanmay kawadkar LMAO NO
I remember her walking and joking with Jerry Hall at Chanel. They were the counterpart Goddesses on the catwalk. I wish I could find the clip of those two while performing together on that specific occasion. There was a similar, second act with Linda & Christy - same Maison - but they were the first doing it or, better said, the first who expressed a maverick joyful friendship in that Top model's cut-throat job, meanwhile they were actually working: they looked extremely human and modern, even in all that artificial, script situation. Ines, the precarious face of the house ( indeed she was, shortly after that show, compelled to ask Yves Saint Laurent for a couple of seasons job) was exuding on stage generosity and friendship to this exotic Texan blond: that image, and the subsequences, were a life lesson for the teen me.
Ines is everything fabulous and Chanel 80s! Full stop.
@bluedasher I have both of the full shows you mentioned
Gia deserves a TBT.
DIVINA
a diva :)
Please do Karen Mulder, Tyra Banks, Janice Dickinson and Christy Blinkey!!
Do one on Ali McGraw for Chanel.
I don’t know why but she resembled with diana a lot
did she competed for the face of the 80's title in 1984 together with iman and helga melsted
Yes well the models "look" very independent and "free" but really their job is to wear what they are told and maintain the image of the brand which is just based on some concept that could change seasonally. I wouldn't really like their job I do like fashion but not having to cut and colour my hair or wear things I hate etc.
I managed a ladies boutique for years we were involved in a few fashion shows I remember the first time a model came to me I looked at her size and colouring started to pull out outfits I thought would suit her but I spoke to her as I would a customer, do you like this? etc. she just said it doesn't matter I will wear whatever you tell me to and I thought of course that's your job.
I agree with Lucas. Inès is an icon. Basta.
Je pense qu'elle etait la renaissance de Coco Chenal et a montré aux femmes que Chanel etait bien vivante.😮
So Karl overthrew her with Claudia because she had the German connection with Karl, and most uneducated people could buy the idea of her as French due to her resemblance to Brigitte Bardot?
Oh god nooo
May ines de la fressange isn't the most beautiful lady in world but until now I didn't dear to say in all women in the world I saw in my life that (this woman is more beautiful than ines de la fressange)
Sembra fatta apposta per Chanel
Damn Karl! Ignes made a decision you don't agree and you just BAN her from Chanel.
Some "muse" Ignes turned out to be for Karl. I don't think a true muse is treated like that
If a woman is a muse the man will worship her like a goddess, not throw her out the second she does something he doesn't like.
And too bizarre has invaded as well.
E' bastato cambiare stile e profumi. Mai più lo stile chanel.
Karl Lagerfeld was brilliant no doubt but he was also so full of 💩
Transgender
Yeah you look like one 😎🤣
