I just want to say that I appreciate all the graphics and diagrams. Everything looks so professional and high scale. It reminds me of visiting the doctors office or being in a biology class! Amazing job!
Before i watch this vid i just want to say that i love and respect all the work that you're doing. You've taught me so much! Back to the vid now❤
Thank you so much.
When you hit the like button before the video starts because you already know you about to get some serious knowledge✊🏾
#thanks #hereforit
lol thank you
I love how you r promoting these RUclips channels. Your video is so informative.
Shrinkage is healthy hair. I love my natural hair. Wish l had less shedding though.
My main concern is tangle and knots.
You can get rid of excessive shedding with using rice water (so I've heard) or ayurvedic herbs that specially target that problem.
Shedding can be linked to iron deficiency, excessive stress or other health issues. Best to check with a doctor to be on the safe side.
Deborah Bonner try a tea rinse
I have been doing rice water for 6 days now and the amount of hair in my Denmon brush has decreased 90% no bs!
It eliminates tangles and knots too
I have 80 to 85 percent shrinkage, it’s no joke.
Ty GH I have 90% lol
Same here Hun. 😊 80% shrinkage when left to dry on its own.
Ty GH I wouldn’t be surprised if my shrinkage was 100%😂
Why doesn’t anyone talk about texture when it comes to the feel (how heavy the hair strand is) and look (how naturally shiny it is) such as coarse, wiry, silky, cottony. You can have the same curl pattern as someone but have a different texture. 4a with silky texture and a 4a with cottony texture will look and act differently. I have HIGH density 3c hair but my hair is silky in texture so it looks & behaves differently than high density 3c with a wiry texture. Some naturals say they have multiple textures throughout their heads. Never see anyone talk about this.
YESSSSSSS I WAS JUS DEBATING WITH SB IN A COMMENT SECTION ABOUT DIS RIGHT HEREEEEE, im so happy im not the only one dat thinks like this bc i feel like its important because for the longest i thought i could make my hair silky n make my curls naturally clump like the typical 2a-3a hair. i was using soooo many products n then i jus come to realize that my hair texture jus isnt like that. i wish it was sooo bad cuz i jus wish i could get shine n definition w/o haveing to do a 2 hr "wash n go"🤣 ppl with silky hair also seem to get less single strand knots and their hair is easier to detangle bc when they hair jus so soft n silky so the brush slips through they hair bc its so silky yk? i also realized that they curls naturally clump n they hair soaks up product really nice so its real easy to detangle n glide through so their hair is easily managed
same ....that is what i am looking for ....mine is 3c tooo but its not similar to all 3c out there .....I hope some one will talk about that
Check out Latoya Ebony's video 'The real reason you can't find your hair type' or 'The difference between 4b and 4c hair'. She talks about hair texture in terms of look and feel. Wiry, cottony, silky, and so on. She tests her own hair in the video.
This channel is the #BEST hair health education that I have EVER seen. You are obviously well educated. Kudos to you young lady!
I hope that soooooooo many young teenage girls will find/stumble across you on YT. Seriously, you have the most informative, interesting and useful that I have ever come across. AND I have done A lot of research but am learning a lot just going thru your videos. Thanks again for this true WEALTH of knowledge❤
I love these educational series on the science of natural hair. I feel like there is just so much to learn and discover about hair.
I wish someone would put you on their team and make hair products based off the diverse hair types lol it could all be simpler than spending money on trial and error
I’m low porosity with s and o curls and 50% shrinkage!!!
You are beautiful 😍
I tried your real protein treatment. I immediately noticed my hair felt thicker upon applying it. I enjoyed it. I’m going to use that as my protein for now. Thanks!
Shout out to all of us that like the video before watching! LOL...I already know she's gonna give me relevant, important, useful info. I'm so looking forward to the Braid Regimen videooooooooooo!
I love your videos. They are so informative. You can really tell you've done your own research because you're not just saying what most other natural hair RUclipsrs are repeating.
Your channel is literally a blessing, I wish more RUclipsrs referred to your channel more!
Aaaas always, thanks for posting, see you in the next videooooooo... Much love😘😘😘
LOVE your channel sis.! Thank you for your knowledge 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾👑😘
Love the break down, can’t wait for the next video on density!
Lecture over! Enjoyed every bit of it. I love how you are teaching and lecturing us on something as intricate and every inch a part of our identity as our hair. I absolutely love it. God bless you real good.
I absolutely love you, GreenBeauty and what you stand for. I love your videos so much and how they're not only educational, but also very embracing of African/Black's hair. You're such an inspiration as you are a Queen!
Thank you so much. I always learn a lot from watching your videos! Keep it up🙌🏽🙌🏽
"Frizz" as I know it, pertains to strands of hair separating or raising from each lock, or group of curls, resulting in puffiness around the remaining hair. Sort of like when you brush against knitted mohair. Shrinkage on the other hand, is when the curls draw up closer together, much in the way that a Slinky toy does.
Thank you so much for the information. Eagerly awaiting the next video about density.
This series has been really informative so far. I'm trying to figure out my personal hair texture bc I feel that after several henna treatments I may have changed my hair texture in that way. This is helping me understand how my hair works and how to care for it. Thanks for all that u do 💞👍🏾
You Really do your research before releasing your videos and it definitely reflects in the content! Looking forward to the rest of the series! Much love from the cold, cold WNY! Wish I were in Hawaii right now girl! Love your channel!😘⛄
As always, very informative, thanks
Very helpful video! Thanks for sharing.
Love your videos! Always so informative!! Would you be able to make a video about locs on tighter natural hair?
I want to thank you for the information you provide!
My hair hasn't been this healthy since my childhood.
I have been natural since 2011 and suffered many setbacks but since finding your channel my hair is retaining length, thick and beautiful!
Thank you
Peace with continual blessings
to you
You are the best, GB!
Very informative and knowledgeable I enjoy all of your videos.
I appreciate you so much, please keep the content coming👍👍...
Aprendo muito com os teus videos...much love from Angola😘
Our hair is so beautiful OMG I love my hair and you are the best ❤️
I Love youuuuu I have learned so much and I literally started watching you today…. You just gained a newsubscriber
🙌🏾🙌🏿🙌🏽 Great Content👌🏾
Thanks for this informative video.
this is great info as usual!
This is good thank you for researching and sharing. Now I understand my tight shrinkage.
I hit the like button before I start watching because I just love your channel!!!!!!
I ❤️ your videos. I wished I would have found you sooner. Your content is very informative. I did not realize that I was detangling my hair too often, everyday. Now I understand why my hair wasn’t growing. My hair is 75% shrinkage. I am a new fan. 💕
Yours is THE most informative and well-researched channel on YT for naturalistas! Thank you for another great video!
Thank You :-)
That last section made me emotional. Ugh. 😫❤️
Once again, ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. You give so much detail,I love it. I've followed your advice for the time I was a loose natural(4C type). Now that I'm almost 1 year locked(I have sisterlocs now); your advice still applies.
Right I'm semi freeform loc'd yes her info is helpful to all naturals
Thank you so much for the education. Thank you
who else cant wait for the next video !!!!
Yay! I was waiting for this!
As usual, I am in awe of your knowledge and detail! I will now not-so-patiently await your next video. I have a lot of questions about density.
ME TOO!!!!!
Cannot WAIT for the hair density video 💪🏾
I watched the last 3 min of video again. It made me really think. You must know that you’re changing thought processes and actions with you videos. Please continue to make sure you’re putting out truth. I’m also doing my own research. I about to make some changes with regards to FULLY embracing my natural hair. I think I can do it now. Overall thank you for everything.
From a 25 plus years cosmetologist who worked for a black hair products manufacturer thanks so much for all your education
I never got the notification 😣. I get hurt when i miss ur vidoes. Thanks for the work you are doing and the way you talk.
Had to check again to make sure I was still subscribed
Thanks so much 🌼🌼
Would love to see an update to your haircare regimen. I love the natural component to the products on your video. What mixtures/products do you use to clarify?
Hi do you have a video about keeping your hair in a protective style for 1 month like 'cornrow', if not can you please make one, I want to know the pros and cons of it please😊
Omg I’ve been waiting all my life for this! 😍
#DopeDigest
I'd say I'm at about 50% shrinkage. Great content, as always.
Well done.
Yay!!!
Thank you!!!
Thank u so much!
Welcome back😃
Great Breakdown. I am definitely an O with tight coils. 75% shrinkage. Thank you for confirming that detangling once a week is okay. I felt doing it more often was harmful and there are way less strands to clean up now. 😂
Would you please do a video of hair steaming vs hair dyer for a treatment?
I always heard that shrinkage means your hair was healthy so because my hair barely shrinks i thought it wasn't healthy but now i know i just have a looser texture! this is very informative thank you!
Just discovered your channel and love the wonderful information you are presenting, One question though, My hair is short, grey, less dense and very much like cotton texture. Since you are suggesting once a week manipulation, what suggestions do you have for regular daily styling?
Loving this series. So you're not using a comb or brush any more. I hope you will discuss this un an upcoming video!
I am actually chuckling because there are 15 people that refuse to be educated about the keratin on their head. Sad. Thank you so much as always. Continue to edify and prosper.
Another fantastic informative video. Luv this channel
Will you do a video on keratin smoothing treatments on African American hair?
My shrinkage is so disrespectful but I’m okay with it. I only do my hair once every 2 weeks...wearing twists most of the time. Can’t wait for the density video.
I was taught the texture of a persons hair was defined by the diameter of the hair strand coarse medium or fine .... and it can be curly or straight ... learn something new everyday👍
Mine is a mixture of ‘S’, ‘U’, ‘N’ and tight spirals. Its fantastic to detangle under water as knots don’t exist in water. Its also fine and dries quickly. We’re not friends and I have no idea how to wear it!
Shrinkage is a blessing? 🙌🙌🙌😍 well my coils are about 80% tight when left to dry without stretching 😃
I was wondering if you could do the science behind fruits and natural hair, I always wondered if the molecules weren't to big to penetrate the hair shaft but a lot of diy deep conditioners have like avocado or banana in their recipes
Is there a way I can contact you personally? I'm having issues with my low porosity hair and I feel like you are the only RUclipsr who may be able to help. I've reached out to others but their advice didn't help.
I wish you'd do a video on how to take care of twa's
I have a very tight O pattern hair with 90% shrinkage. Like a slinky, it goes flat against my head when wet. So regardless of its length, it always looks like a short afro. I find it grows and flourishes when I do wash-and-gos and just let it shrink up and just focus on moisturizing it daily.
l described my curls as wavy, you do, as loose curls: Is there a difference? Thank u.
The nostraightened side of the illustrative cartoon reminds me of my "detangled" hair texture (4:52).
My shrinkage doesn't bother me. My concern is tangles and knots. If I did not detangle my hair a couple of times a week, my hair naturally dreads (or permeantly knots). Which would be fine if I was choosing to wear it that way.
I have not used heat on my hair since I big chopped in 2014. I airdry and am only willing to use heat with a plastic cap and head dryer for occossional deep conditioning. No hand held dryers, flat irons, curling irons, etc....
Great video, I think I have 50-60% shrinkage.
I have a type 2 texture, and I wash once a week, and detangle once a week. I used to detangle daily and wash 2/3 times a week. My hair health has improved lots by doing it weekly. It's been my routine for over a decade now. I love it!
Marleen G. At least you’re still cleaning your hair.
@@a.b.2405, true. Once a week is perfect. It gets a tad oily on Friday, but a nice bun and I can hold on until Sunday wash day. I have the day dedicated to my hair care and it's such a nice feeling to be able to "pamper" your hair.
Interesting, I thought density/thickness came from the numbers of hair per square inch on your scalp and that’s what you’re born with, how do you change or increase that?
I honestly don’t understand how to simply finger detangle. My strands stick and clump together. When I use my fingers, that clump just passes between my fingers and I end up missing it completely. A comb is the only thing that will alert me that those clumps are there and help me to break it apart. The clumps form from shed hair wrapping itself around a group of curls.
Does calcium bentonite clay relax the hair similar to a baking soda relaxer?
Are you able to do skin science
Hi does henna really loosen your curl pattern?
hello she software or application you use for your videos please ?
GreenBeauty
We have the same s and o pattern and texture
Hey Twin
Hey GreenBeauty,I love your work. I was wondering if you ever thought of doing videos for skincare to educate people on the subject as well? I would trust your content if you ever thought of starting skincare videos because you do your homework and always come with great contents. Thank you
😍😍😍
There are some really great skincare people already on here like Dr. Dray, Elle Leary Artisty, Gothamista, Liah Yoo and Beck Wynta.
@@kiandrapinkstonfelix oww thank you,I didn't know. I'll check that out.
i think i have like 45% shrinkage, but it may be more because my hair was not freshly washed and has product in it when i tested. I also seem to have predominantly S pattern and the very occasional loose O like once or twice per strand
@GreenBeauty Could you do a video about using hair foods, or “grease”? I know plenty of people say they shouldn’t be used because of the petrolatum, but before knew sciences and information came out about natural hair, that’s what was used: grease and water. Let people of old tell it, using grease on their hair really worked for hair growth. What do you think?
I am o pattern but I do not see much information on this curl pattern! Would love some help, please.
what does it mean if one hair strand has two textures
I need help with my hair is tight curls or at least it was and low porosity hair all of my curls have dried out and my hair is breaking and weak, and limp and sticking up in the air, crunchy I need help with my hair I've been two salons but no one can help me fix my hair and I tried put moisture back into it but it's not helping it's also drying my hair out even worse can you please message me back. I'll give you more info also I have soft hair...
I have about 70% shrinkage and it’s NO FUN....that’s why I either have it tension blow-dried or in a crochet to make my life easier.
It’s time to take my hair down from my crochet and I am excited about having my hair again. The power of a good haircut/trim also makes difference in just the ease of styling and holding the shape of those twists and creating the style you want.
@1:18 That’s that Magical hair🪄 😍
Can this be tested on twa hair
