Naomi Williams her content is what people with kinky hair need and it’s crucial for the natural hair community because she brings real facts and science on the table. Some RUclipsrs have a million followers and bring false narratives and confusion. And are not knowledgeable. So since most people committed to natural hair contents want to have healthy and long hair or just healthy hair it is important a majority of girls/women with that type of hair follow her so they don’t revert back to the creamy crack. And at the moment a lot of them follow the “wrong “ people who give out wrong information and/or are just here for paid partnerships with click bait titles!🙄
I'm a Cancer Survivor! I love your advice on Hair Care! I mainly use scoop and spread method with minimal products at all. Just additional natural oils. My hair has flourished! I keep it mainly loose and tucked away. Its past my Bra strap in a short amount of time. Thanks!!!
Yess. I swear anytime a 4c girl posts a video or pic with their hair properly moisturized people swear they’re lying about their texture because they can actually see a curl
@@kaylynboyd2035 but some people's hair have no coils whatsoever even wet so what hair type is that? If you subscribe to the 4abc chart then it says 4c has very tiny coils with out much clumping. Clumping is 4a. According to it 4c certainly has no 'curl'
Jessica Ike common sense tells you it’s not clear cut and it’s impossible for every person with the same hair type to have the same exact curl pattern. If you subscribe to the chart you also have to take into account density and porosity for why two people with the same pattern can have different looking hair.
This might be the most informative and useful natural hair channel I've watched in a long time. Thank you for bringing the education to the natural hair discussion!
Your hair typing system is one I cite regularly. This is what we should be championing. It’s going to be our new standard. Thank you so much for all the work you do on this channel!
I love your hair typing system and content because I feel like it’s more thorough, definitive, and accurate resources for haircare. Each time I watch a video, I learn worlds of information.
I've been natural for 7 years. Yesterday I stumbled across your channel. I've learned so much about my hair in the last 24 hours than I have in 7 years. Thank you for being detailed in your videos. Thank you for educating me.
I believe you can still retain length with fully shrunken hair. I've been doing it. And I'm type 4. I have all 4 of the curl patterns shown in this video.
Now this video is genius, revolutionary, and debunks the most popular hair typing system. This makes so much sense about kinky curls. Thank you for sharing this golden information. I love to learn and this made my day☺
That's the only hair typing system that makes sense! It's impossible to build an effective regimen by focusing only on the 3c to 4c system and/or porosity. The other characteristics are very important! My hair is mostly o, my mother mostly i.
This video made me fall in love with my hair again because i was soooooo over it and ready for a relaxer but now that I'm taking the time to understand it fully, i have a new found interest and love for it. Thanks Green Beauty 💓
Ah! So happy to have stumbled upon your channel. As a women who was growing up in a time, the late 80s-early 2000s when natural hair was not as widely celebrated as it is now, I have seen and am now living with the consequences of that mindset and lack of knowledge. Now as a women with CCCA (scarring alopecia) It breaks my heart to think about where my hair could be today if only my mom and those around her would have known but I am a believer that God doesn’t make mistakes! As a mom of a baby girl now I am on a mission to educate myself in hair care as I go about caring for the beautiful crown God has blessed her with. Thank you for this video. New subbie, keep them coming!! Gorgeous hair too!!!
Great video as always. I think Kara Bustamente here on YT is another example of an 'I' curl pattern. If I remember correctly, she mentioned cutting her hair a lot early in her hair journey because she thought she had heat damage.
It all makes sense now! I have "I" curls on the very front looking very straight I always thought it was damage. The other parts are "S " and "L". The I part is always very dry and coarse not as flexible as the other parts of my hair.
This is by far the most informative video about hair typing I have ever seen on RUclips. Please keep bringing the interesting and socially conscious information.
I guess we may all have a mixture of curl patterns on our head then. I now understand why my hair looks fuller when stretched in wet sets, twists or blown outs to dry than just leaving it to shrink when wet. Thx.
This is the best calmest way to say Throw the Andre system away. And explain everything from a reality based process. Your animations make sense and are well executed. You are soothing instructor ...sent to my sister that has questions about 4c hair. Stay blessed with the good tresses
Thank you! I HATE the popular hair typing system because not only it has racist undertones but also it doesn't tell you how to care for your hair! You are a godsent!
Oh I am eternally grateful for this PARTICULAR video, you know how I struggled with the hair typing system I was using. But now that you are explaining yours , at the end of all the videos in this series, I will definitely come back and tell you about my hair in detailed using your system I couldn't contribute an answer to the video you did asking about what our hair type was, but now I will be able to. And this will be the ONLY system I will be using as of now. Thanks again.
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and natural hair practices with us! This year I’m ready to retain more length and grow healthier natural hair! 💙🙌🏾
Yess!!! I love this because although most of us watching this probably have afro textured hair no two heads look or respond the same.. I've never seen two wash n gos that look the same out of all the videos I've watched, people I've seen in person, or pictures I've seen afro textured hair seems to be the one that's most diverse and unique like our fingerprints no two people have the same fingerprints or DNA excluding twins in that observation so thats why its hard to mimic someone else's regimine because the two heads aren't going to respond the exact same way so the trick is to customize a regimine for your specific strands thanks Green Beauty for these scientifically explained hair videos we need more of these videos instead of videos on ( Natural Hair Rules) we should follow because not everything works for everybody. ✊🏽✊🏽
When I was little my hair was a 1c-2a ish, after puberty (within 5 years) my hair changed to 2b-2c. I sometimes find 1c and even 3a. Having high porosity doesn’t help either. Although I don’t have 4 pattern it’s still interesting to watch the video.
I love the videos you make! You always answer the “why” and “how” of natural hair and I absolutely adore the scientific approach. Thanks for doing what you do!
I'm predominantly s and o, but I definitely have a couple of random i's. It used to freak me out because it acted and looked like heat damage, but I don't use heat or even really wear braids or high tension styles.
I used to wonder why the bottom back of my head had really defined curls while the rest of my hair was more of an s shape. I thought there was heat damage at the back of my head so I kept cutting it and it would grow back the same😭 Now I know why thank you!😌
Apart from the great info, I love that you showcase other natural youtubers and put their names where possible! I often leave with one or two new ladies to follow!
