Hey Green Beauty. An issue that hair bloggers don't clarify is if using a DIY water and oil hair spritz is really effective because according to science, water and oil don't mix. Can we also get information on how to emulsify a DIY water and oil hair spritz.

Very educational.....I think ( just my personal opinion ) that greenhouse effect does not work well for me...it seems my scalp gets irritated with all of that moisture overload & then I reach a setback ,& have to start all over again. My issues seem to be with my scalp, not hair. The more I learn how to keep my scalp healthy & clean, the better results I see with my hair. I've been using the onion juice for over a year now with great results, my HUGE bald spot is filling in really nicely & thickening. I dont know what the miraculous onion provides to my scalp, but let me tell you, my scalp LOVES, LOVES, LOVES IT !!! My coworkers are even noticing a difference. Yes, it stinks like HELL !!! Another thing my hair is responding well to is the apple cider vinegar spritzing. Thank you so much Green Beauty !!! Xoxo

The Greenhouse Method works for me, but then again, I’m in Arizona so the moisture is needed. My hair is BONE dry by the end of the day, so I’m not worried about mildew or over-conditioning. I cut my hair to shoulder length almost a year ago and it’s arm-pit length already, soon to be back at mid-back. The cut was because I’m from Michigan and didn’t know this water in Arizona is horrible and we had to get a house water system...this water JACKED my hair up! Lol
I wash once a week, African Thread my hair in a single “braid” down the back and spritz with lavender and rosemary water every night then I put on my doorag so my waves pop all week, I slap my plastic cap on then a satin scarf.

I don't comment often but i have been going through thinks with my natural hair.
I have been natural for about 2 years few mouths. I am anaemic (iron defeceicy) and i have watched your video on it.
My hair breaks (like crazy). I just completed my wash day and i truly felt like i have lost half of my hair and i am truly sad (i know it just hair ) but i have spend so much time , trying to make my hair health. From using deep conditioners, treatment masks protein treatment (tried the rice and tea treatment) and i have spent so much money on products.
Keep in mind all my relaxed hair is gone since i big chopped not transitioned. I don't use flat irons ( never used them) i only blow dry
Occasionally (last time i blow dried
Was 3 months ago. I keep hair in protective styles and my hair still breaks (from the roots, i think).
At the moment i feel fed up.
I wanted to try to do my l.o.c method in the shower ( while it was still wet) but i don't want to take any chances.
I am fed up at the moment. I am thinking about chopping all my hair this week and go back to wigs.
    I am just over this.
I only have a problem with breakage but my hair is feels great.
So, if you have any tips let me know.

Hiya, I felt complied to reply, I hope you don't mind. Ive never written anything as long as this on yt before. It sounds to me that you are doing alot of good things to your hair and embracing your natural hair, so I just wanted to say that and we'll done. It is a life long journey, definitely full of trial and errors. So good on you and keep it up. I really hope you see the results your after.
All I can say is it takes time. I used to relax my hair alot back in the day and apply heat daily. I was taking iron deficient tablets for a while too, all of this played havoc with my hair. Any medication does. But for a time I did try an organic supplement pill which helped boost my immune system and that helped the condition of my hair.
I'm in my 40's now, been natural for over 10 years. I have fine, low porosity hair, (I didn't know about all this stuff until a year or so ago) 😁i'm still trying to figure out stuff about my hair. There's so much info out there! I am learning alot through YT, especially Green Beauty and Nappyfu. I try not to stress about it tho. I know my hair and am trying my best. Im working full time with 2 young, lively boys. I can get abit lazy!
When I can afford it, i mostly use decent products, like Kinky curly knot today, which is amazing, and I would definitely recommend it, after a long time of using Cantu stuff which is average and affordable, but my hair got bored. So maybe vary your products and if budget allows go for the healthier choices. But you don't need to...I do find the better quality stuff lasts longer. Imo..
My hair loves the loc/lco method, in the shower. "As I Am" products worked for me, And I recently tried some DIY protein treatments, like using gelatine and ACV. If your hair feels good, that's a great sign, maybe try it. I did notice a reduction in breakage when I used acv. The heat and warmth from the shower allows the products to go on niceIy, I'm sure it would be ok for you. I sometimes 🤗 prepoo with coconut or olive oil, a good ole' gentle scalp and hair massage is good practice. I always finger detangle after shampoo, once the conditioner is in, (you know when it's time to get the denman brush out! But for me this causes more frizz) I do deep condition but not religiously. And I've also tried a rice water treatment after initially being abit scared. Nothing bad happened so I might try it again. To see if it's something my hair likes/needs.
I definitely think diet, health and stress play a big part in the health of my hair, and I am sure you know this, so stay positive and don't over do it with the products and treatments at any given time, or too close together. Space them out. I'm trying to drink more water, I live in the UK, the water is abit harsh (even with a filter) but spring is here and the sun always helps my hair grow and i eat better, which has got to be good. Its also nicer to air dry hair when it's warmer. I've stopped eating meat too, just fish. My hair grows, just slowly, it always has, so Im just wanting to maintain the length and keep it healthy, or I'll be doing another big chop. Which I seem to do every couple of years. But then it grows back, healthier. So that's all good.
I don't go to the hairdresser much, i tend to trim the dead ends myself, but when I need to, I'll go to a hairdressers for some TLC. "to have healthy hair, you gots to do healthy things, consistently" like the beautiful Nappyfu says. Check her out on yt. Her and Green Beauty are my favourite RUclipsrs".
Sorry, Ive rambled on, Good luck on your journey. Im sure you'll get the good results you want soon. We all have good and bad hair days. I slick mine back with loads of gel when it's not acting right. Lol. Take care.

    • @Sucre014

@High Definition, your experience is the same as mine. I am iron deficient - maybe the supplements I take are messing with my hair because, I use good natural products, do all the good stuff and yet, my hair breaks/sheds a lot!!! It is heartbreaking because I know I'm not doing anything wrong, yet it feels like I'm not doing anything right either!
Don't give up though, I pray to learn more about what my hair likes, even though I've been natural for more than 4 years 😔

Nice content, 'Free Food' for thought. I am hoping you will do a video on helpful Food for Hair Health, what does work, what doesn't, and when. I know there's more than just ACV, Onion, and Coconut Oil. Wondering about Eggs, Honey, Mayo, and other Oils easy to come by, as we don't all have access to Olaplex and a trust fund for products. I am believing that Creator has already made everything we need to thrive and be our best.
I've found for instance that Papaya and Raw Honey make the best healing moisturizing mask for my skin and Corn Meal is gentle and great to add to any cleanser to exfoliate everywhere for my skin tone.

Since food is in most everyone's kitchens you can experiment to your heart's content. You don't have to wait on someone else to do it for you. I use oats on my skin and hair. It's great for sensitive and irritable skin. There's the banana hair mask which can sometimes be tricky to get right. Mango works just as well as banana and there's avocado. Honey, fenugreek and olive oil make a nice mix too. GreenBeauty's videos are always educational and enjoyable.

I appreciate your tips. Not waiting for someone else, I experiment as well, but don't know the science behind. I am open to learn.

Which is why I no longer deep condition overnight. My hair didn't act right afterwards.

So is low porosity a good thing? like better than having high? like should I strive for the low-po?

    • @marymikel9193
      @marymikel9193 5 лет назад +1

Becky Mashaido I'd say if you know how to treat your high or low porosity hair then neither is better than the other. One hardly accepts anything the other lets it go easily. Total opposites But both can keep hold of something if known how. It may require different efforts and opposite efforts.
