I Allied with Sweden to Save the Maryland Flag!

- Somebody's Reddit comment made me realize that I don't think I emphasized the community aspect of /r/place enough. I played but one small part in the unfolding story that was /r/place and more specifically the relationship between /r/maryland and /r/sweden. I merely acted as a catalyst for the collective efforts of many, and I want to acknowledge and thank all the Marylanders and Swedes that participated!
As a postscript, I actually found out while getting assets for this video that I may have actually forged real-life friendships between Marylanders and Swedes--there were sightings of Marylanders with the /r/place Swedish flag as a bumper sticker, and at least one Swede said they planned to visit Maryland! It's crazy how your actions can have consequences like that!
(I actually wasn't as involved with the Maryland flag after the post on /r/Sweden--I was also defending /r/mylittlepony's Rainbow Dash. But that's outside the scope of this story.)

As a side note, I think with each video I do nowadays, my editing skills are noticeably improving. And I've been productive on the video front: I've made seven videos this year so far!
My favorite is still the German and French flags intersecting at the EU

New Maryland discord leader here: Major thanks to this man's contribution 5 years ago. Not only did he save us then, but he saved us now. We have over 600 proud Marylanders in our server who got to see their flag until the end. I agree with all points made and cannot emphasize enough how important communities and alliances are. They are the lifeblood of r/place and I am so happy to have been a part of it. Big thanks to Sweden for their help and a shout out to our German friends in Augsburg.
