found this on my recommended, and feel like i oughta chime in for the Splatoon community. we were wiped out not once, but twice over by two different sources, who were both streamers. each time we replanted ourselves in a new spot, and we ended in the bottom-left corner practically next door to France, where we also risked annihilation but still stayed until the end. we also managed to get an octopus and a golden egg up near the giant lemon! we weren’t the biggest, but we fought hard. we lost a couple times, but we for sure ending with our own special place on the canvas.
The MLP fandom was basically the Poland of the whole event. Multiple times they were destroyed only to then comeback multiple times and even surviving until the end.
Fun fact from the first day: Czechs and TF2 community were right next to each other but then some fighting happened and diplomatic talk happened afterwards and then truce was made
they better bring r/place back next year and make the canvas almost thrice as big, documentation of the possible 'war' will be even more chaotic, but every second of this video had me at the edge of my seat with everything going on all over the place.
Here's the thing: There were actually 2 different french groups. The 'official' group that organized through discord and reddit, allying with Germany early on. And the streamer fans that followed that wannabe Napoleon on twitch, partly leaving the first group. Official french group was all good and organized and had nothing to do with the streamer french, that only came at the last expansion. Unfortunately, when that streamer war began, the muricans also attacked the official french flag. The german group (also organized through reddit and discord WITH german streamers that got their names on the german flags approved) had to stop what they were doing and to help save the original french flag that was bordering to us.
@@olgahein4384 actually the french streamer was present at the end of the 1st day but wasn't doing France stuff. The big flag started when all of french streamer decided to do something as a group. And since Kamet0 was already here and already known by ibai and other spanish streamer it was him that went doing negociation. Also everytime the french flag or german flag of officials sub reddit were attacked he sent some viewers at least help to put back the colors so pixel art could be rebuild quicker.

You should make a video about the more smaller "battles" and defences of r/place. A lot of the indie game communities setup an entire alliance to defend their spots.
Nope, it was actually one dumb french streamer with a Napoleon complex (that united a bunch of other french streamers and all their communities) vs. a bunch of american streamers who were already hella frustrated cause they all had to admit in front of Germany (cause the german streamers and their community were part of the official german r/place union, while the french streamers were doing their own thing and ignored the official french r/place group - who allied with Germany and Belgium and all of our allies).
