- This is the second Tales game for the channel, and will be taking the place of my console game for the time being. Sadly, this isn't the special project I was working on as time constraints made that a bit more difficult than just running this.

lright time to talk about the boss fight itself. Gonna be another essay, sectioned in the phases.
That was a cool phase one, very interesting, nice to see how they not only found a way to not have it just be a 1v6 AND get the many different elemental types in there rather than just Rena's darkness. Very cool thematically to have it be like, the idea of using the Renas Alma, I like that they're not just stashing the McGuffin for later, it's getting used as the powerful artifact it is. Once it's over, we once again see the Great Spirit be "humanized" in a way. Having it run for its life to go lick wounds helps nail in the animalistic vibe, really makes you forget that you're fighting the fucking manifestation of a whole ass planet's worth of energy (plus whatever was stolen from Dahna). It's a bold choice to not only introduce the true BBEG at the end, but to then ALSO try to make it a sympathetic villain even closer to the end could backfire, but I have faith they can stick this landing.
Side note, the squad approaching the pit before Phase two was pretty sick. Actual phase two is just a normal fight that could've fought on the way there, honestly nothing looked terribly special about those bots, got mopped up fairly quickly and easily. So much so that I wonder if there's maybe a little something something extra they could've done there. Maybe I just shouldn't be counting this as a phase though, who can say. Moving on,
Phase 3, even BIGGER boy. So uh, this is looking like one of those "Final bosses that're more of a victory lap," or you're just REALLY kicking its shit in. Either way, I'm fucking HERE FOR IT! HELL YEAH WE GOT THE CUSTOM TEAM ATTACK QUOTES TOO! I'm loving this so god damn much. I will say, that middle piece kinda had a bit too much HP for it to be a climatic battle finisher, which makes me think you were in actual danger, but still, mother fucker was like nothing, you had it covered. Sheer number of healing items alone kinda trivializes the fight to a degree where it MIGHT AS WELL be scripted you know? Let it be a victory lap, let the cool team attacks happen within like, 30-45 seconds of each other, and that's a number I think you could've hit if that middle piece had like 10% less hp. It's really not that big of a deal, doesn't RUIN the fight or ending by any means, just pointing out a protentional path.
Oh, we go into REAL FINAL BATTLE MODE BABYYYYY! KICK THAT EDGY BITCH BACK INTO HOT TOPIC! OH LET'S FUCKING GO! This is a cool fucking fight. They got the back and forth banter, they got the SCHMOOZES on each other and then we got into PHASE TWO OF THIS BITCH and we see my fucking FAVORITE shit that some games will do. The TEMPORARY FINAL BATTLE POWER BOOOOOOOOST! LET'S FUCKING GO ALPHEN! GO MY BOY! MY SOVEREIGN! SHOW HIM THE POWER OF TALK NO JUTSU HELL YEAH! THE TRUE VICTORY LAP BEGINS! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Let's fucking go it's actually gonna be talk no jutsu! I also can't believe all of that fucking lore came into play bro that's so COOL! HELL YEAH! My fucking god WHAT an ending cutscene, that was cinematically BEAUTIFUL, holy shit I could talk on that for like 5 minutes, maybe! And the fucking flawless lead into the credits with that music still playing, oh my god bro, WHAT a game, holy shit bro. Yaaaaaaaaaaay. A happy ending earned. Forged through power and tempered with wisdom, they have cut forth a bright future. Well done.
Ah, it's truly the time then? Let's fucking go. Party's gone such a long way, hell yeah homie. OH AND THEY GIVE YOU THE OFFICAL POINT OF NO RETURN PROMPT! This is truly peak, as the kids say.
I was gonna say some mean shit like, "You know this kinda thing is a lot scarier when it never really has a physical form, cuz anything is gonna be underwhelming compared to imagination/being an unknowable THING," but then the cutscene kept happening and it's like, well shit dude. Right, this ain't just some cosmic force of generic evil, it's just another creature that wants to fucking live. It looks and behaves a little animalistic cuz that's just kind how it fucking IS bro and that's pretty damn cool! Honestly an amazing way to handle something like this, I'm about it.
Also I love the obligatory, "Everyone in party is saying their piece to the big bad now," lines. Shionne's was my favorite, rare for her to overtake Kisara in my cool factor opinions, but hey she fucking earned it. That was raw. Get its ass homie!
