    Thank you, ma'am. It's so good that I have been eating like this since childhood. My plate was already divided into these portions only. I am so thankful to my grandmother for this. She has done so much for me. My parents were not living with my grandparents because of work. But whenever I used to visit my grandparents house, she used to take me to satsang- upnishad, Srimad Bhagavad Geeta, which she used to organise for local people and our neighbours (absolutely free). I'm eternally grateful. 🙏🏾

    I felt the bloated when I take more amount of protein or pulses. Then after taking the carbs or rice I feel more relaxed

    Really amazing! This actually resembles Japanese "Ikigai" Diet where they give more emphasis to cereals/grains.

    U r my favourite,wery clear nit like other dietitians who say either hve roti or rice not both at the same time.Have water 1 hr before ur meals or eat raw salad before meals nd fruits before neals,can u clear iur doubts

    Having water b4. meal dilutes digestive juice's.
    B4 n after meals no water
    With meal u can have 100 ml water for better churning of food inside

    Thank God I'm following you on insta ,and read your books. In last week I found an ad on insta which says loose weight with food from your kitchen . I tried it and not joined their full 12week program because in first 5days boot camp I understood it is also like you mentioned in your book full protine and veggies diet . Their plate was like 50% was veggies,25% was protine and rest was for fats and carbs .

    I would like to know when does one consume fruit.... Before meals or after.
    I have before meals n then follow exactly the same pattern of the thali as shown in your talk just now.

      Fruits take lesser time for digestion. They are consumed before meals with a gap or in the morning or around 4-5 pm. But not to be eaten after sunset.

    Hi Rujuta, thanks for the wonderful information as always. But the most important question that must also be occurring to other viewers is are we getting enough protein? As a vegetarian, the dals and pulses already seem to be having lower quality protein (compared to egg and meat) that absorbs less in the body. Can you elaborate on that? I do understand that western science gives a standalone importance to protein, but since we still need to get good amount of protein, I'm a bit confused.

    Prophet Mohammed SAW says eat when you feel hungry, chew your food well, fill 1/3 of stomach with food and remaining 2/3 empty for water and air. He Himself used to eat barely and not wheat.
    In another saying He said don’t use the filtered refined grains.
    He made 30 days fasting in an year obligatory for his followers and additionally two days fasting was told optional every week.
    In the answer of question on the amount of meat to be eaten He said don’t restrain your self from eating meat more than 40 days nor make your stomach graveyard of animals.He Himself used to eat bottle guard with great interest.

    Hi Rujuta...it would be really great if you throw some light on dairy products.
    No not on how to eat and how much to eat but the hard reality behind it. Also doctors advice that after 30 years of age, one should not take dairy products.

    This is an interesting info. Didn't know this. However can you let me know if these proportions are per meal? Or could it be calculated on an overall daily basis. The reason being most times breakfast is more grain/ rice/ rava based. Do explain please

    I feel like eating sweet with every meal . I am from a brahmin family . My father , grandmother, they all ate bura with ghee or gud if there was no sweet at home . Same is with me , I crave for a sweet with every meal . Any suggestions??

    My HB is always low. When ever I take iron tabs, it ll b ok. Then again becom low. As far as food , i almost eat iron rich, every ting home made food mostly.

    Mam can you please clear one doubt, about बासी खाना।how bad it is to have the leftover rice or vegetable or anything।????? Like sometimes I wish to make food a day before for next day also, but worry if leftover food would hamper health like cause bloating n all , or is it totally okay to have leftovers??????
