One thing I wonder is wouldn't a sheeting finish be more optimal as far as preventing water spots and self drying even if they are slower? I consistently have this idea that may be water beads aren't optimal but as far as I know it's the best that we have

@@jinxtacy You're not wrong sir! It's a battle that randomly comes and goes in the detailing community. "Why" people like beading has been beaten to death. I'm personally in the camp that thinks beading is simply a badge of honor. When you walk through a parking lot in a rain storm, you can quickly tell who takes care of their car and who doesn't. And then AFTER that rainstorm, you can quickly see who takes care of their car by looking at all the water spots everywhere lol

I’m a big fan, Sandro. Thanks for another great video.
I’m also a big fan of TW Graphene Flex. It’s only about $25 here in USA, so much more reasonable. I followed directions on the bottle, and applied 2 coats 24 hrs apart after compounding and polishing. My 2007 Ford looks amazing. The real advantage of the Flex is the “flexible” ways to maintain it. After washing, spray it on and rinse, or spray it on and dry with a towel. Because it is so easy to maintain, the protection last forever. I do this every few maintenance washes, and it’s still going strong.

Thank you for the great review. In my experience with turtle wax I haven’t had any issue applying or leveling the TW following the instructions on the bottle. In fact it has been the easiest product I’ve used. I think you may have over applied it a bit as 2 sprays on an applicator cloth is the max amount for an entire panel. Just my 2cents, and again this was an excellent review.

Hi from Southern California. In 2021 I bought a new Kia k5 GT LINE in passion red paint. Its a beautiful red metallic and have been searching for a wax that made me say WOW. While they all looked nice....there was no WOW for me. THEN last month I tried the Turtle FLEX WAX with graphene. After each panel I was, this is really looking GOOD. After the whole car was done, and our strong Southern California sun was shining on it, I finally said WOW! This flex wax made this paint look spectacular! the metallic was sparkling, and the black paint was just glistening. A little streaky, yes, but 3 days later I washed it and dried it using a nice microfiber towel, and it looked just fantastic, and all the little streaks were completely gone..I wash my cars pretty much once a week, and now almost 3 months later its still beading very nicely. Im 64 and still always hand wax my cars. I dont mind that it takes a little more effort, ELBOW GREASE, to apply this wax, for the incredible way it makes this red paint pop. It also looks great on my grey metallic car too. Great video, informative and fun. Thank you. And the car has been just great, now after 2 years ownership, I like it very much!

Been a user of Both Flex Wax and Resist, I have to say that the application of Resist as a sealant is unmatched. Is easier to apply than some “quick detailers” and has more longevity than your average sealant. Also makes the paint look very nice.
The only downside is the price. But the ease of use is worth it in my opinion.

First of all, I would like to thank you for all the time and effort you put into theese tests and reviews. I can only imagine the time involved including testing, filming and editing.
I have tried a few different ceramic coatings as the newbie that I am. The coating I have on my car now is the Ethos Graphene Matrix coating. If I compare it to Gyeon One and CarPro UK 3.0 Id say that they all perform really good but I think Ethos is the best looking and makes some crazy things with water. But for me Uk 3.0 was the best user experience.
So I can not imagine why the dealer would not sell it to you.

Hey hi Sandro, really good video. I've had gr8 experience with the TW Graphene as well both the Seal & Shine and Hybrid Ceramic. I've settled into the same application and removal process with all three as a matter of convenience and habit which gives me equally satisfying results...
A dampened microfiber applicator [square] sprayed onto the applicator then applied in a cross hatch pattern to the paint. Then, initial wipe with a soft damp microfiber followed with a fluffy. For me this just works with no fuss with about the same application and removal effort with no streaking or high spots. I especially find using the applicator (may) take a little(?) extra effort/time than just using a towel to apply but I've found that it applies more uniformly which along with the damp towel removal illuminates any streaking AND frustration! I have not used the Graphene as a stand alone per se but as a topper to both the MAX WAX and Hybrid Ceramic with terrific gloss, slickness and shine. As for price...I believe TW has just spoiled us over the years with pricing. I find both the Graphene FLEX and MAX to go a long way and be economical despite it's up front cost. That being said, when comparing the price against other brands they are definitely in the ball park. As for your comments about its value compared to S&S well...you have a point but...I really believe that the FLEX beats it in overall appearance and tactile feel - maybe not durability🤔. All depends on what one is trying to accomplish I guess. Keep up the good work - love your vids and practical approach. From the 'States 💖🇺🇸

Totally loved this video…before you finished talking about Turtle Wax Hybrid Flux Capacitor. 😂
    -----
Non-related, but thought it was worth sharing: I applied original-formula Fusso to my car last week. I purchased it from Fusso directly- for $30 delivered!
I applied it after a full day of 3D One paint correcting. Honestly I can’t see myself leaving this product pairing for a very long time. 3D One IMO is bulletproof as a correction product, especially on soft clear. Pad-dependent, near-infinite working time, and zero dust.
Fusso is the most tenacious sealant/wax I’ve ever experienced. And that’s just the application. It flashed instantly in warm South Texas weather, regardless of my garage’s shade and cleanliness. If you have Fusso and it’s above 70*F, apply and remove right then and there. Gloves and and a respirator are an absolute must. Use the foam applicator and care for it like it’s gold. Less product is more every time. Don’t apply to any trim, but you certainly could apply to corrected wheel finishes. Lastly, whatever towels you use to remove the haze, throw them in the trash after. Trust me.
Now…the water behavior of this (post-curing) is laugh-inducing. I’ve tried quite a few products of varying technology; there’s nothing I’ve seen that does what Fusso does as a sealant. It’s just bananas. The overall shine is good, but it’s the kind that counts on your ability to cut and polish to a 95%+ level of quality. And if you can do that, then Fusso takes care of that work.
Overall what I like about both products are contradictory in nature. 3D saves so much time, grief and error on a not-as-fun phase of the project. Fusso is like an instrument that scares amateurs away but rewards the brave. It illuminates your skills or oversights. I like that, but it isn’t something I’d wanna mess with often. Then again, because it’s so durable, that’s kind of the point.
Thanks Sandro for another great video. We continue to get smarter and better because of your content.

What made me stop using Flex is that I had some problems with water spots that went away when I stopped using it. If it's durability and hydrophobicity you are after, Fusso Coat will give it to you!

    Great comparison mate!
Before my own car was coated recently I tested out the TW graphene flex wax, purely out of interest to see whether it lives up to its price tag, all the hype and because it was the first graphene spray coating I had used, and I must say that your experience with this product was fairly similar with mine, application took a while but it did perform exceptionally well, I maintained it with the same coating in a spray on, rinse off method every fortnight, and when it came time for me to remove it, I was thoroughly impressed with its chemical resistance, as I just hadn’t experienced this with most of the other sealants I had used at the time
Great work again mate keep it up 🤙

Excellent video and comparison Sandro! You nailed it right on the head with Flex Wax, good performance but user experience is lacking, I noticed heavy and stubborn streaking especially on nonmetallic reds and blacks, even with the damp wipedown. Resist is better in terms of experience, but still problematic on some of those particular paints.
Neither of those I would use as maintenance toppers for any coatings as they are too heavy for that task, Ethos Defy remains a great topper for their Ceramic and Graphene Matrix coatings for me. Shame you weren’t able to get your hands on their Graphene Matrix Pro coating, would have loved to see how it would have fared. I’ve been keeping an eye on a coworkers car that I applied two coats of Ceramic Matrix a while ago who has been maintaining it regularly with Defy and Speed Shine, and it is holding up fantastically.

Did not see the spray turtle wax here, but I did see a liquid paste I bought to try. It was about 30 dollars usd which was a tad on the pricey side for "consumer" level products... but I figured I'd give it a shot.
Edit: So I gave the paste wax a try on my driver door, fender and a portion of the hood with... much the same result as said in this video. It's not easy to level down, it smears quite a bit and it literally feels like it's resisting the cloth from moving. The resistance is so much that I worry about marring the clear. That said I found it absolutely necessary with the liquid paste to use a damp cloth as follow up, or the streaks simply would not go away.
I didn't get too far before it rained and the product didn't have time to cure. I did apply carnauba prior so I can resume later after this rain is gone. That said the hydrophobic properties I saw immediately after washing with wash/wax ceramic and meguiars gold class was not much more... it was noticeable yes, but it wasn't dramatic enough to seem worth the effort. Though again I didn't have time for it to cure. We'll see after it quits raining and I purchase some better microfibers.

Great video Sandro! I really enjoy these. 2 questions- my brother has a black car with light swirls. He won’t polish. Do you recommend I get him Ethos Graphene Resist or Turtle Wax Hybrid Black Acrylic wax? Goal is to cover some swirls and give him easy to apply good looking protection. Second, I love Lustre and use it on my car. Is it okay to use Lustre as a drying aid every other wash?
    Big thanks from San Diego!

Thanks and great to hear that.
I haven’t tried TW Black Acrylic so I really can’t compare the two, all I can say is that Ethos Resist seems to perform pretty well here and also have a nice user experience which is important for a beginner.
You can certainly use Lustre as a drying after every other wash as it’s great in that process with its fantastic lubrication, so definitely no harm there.

    • @CarCraftAutoDetailing
      @CarCraftAutoDetailing  2 года назад +1

Thanks, and in my experience it’s really a case by case situation especially when your focusing in on gloss and slickness which isn’t really the main benefit of these ceramic sealants. So some of these will be slicker and glossier and some more traditional or old school synthetic wax may be more so.

I think it’s fine to use a graphene coating. The truth is that they still seem to be SiO2 based with a little graphene in the mix, so I’d just judge it as a general coating and not worry too much about whether it’s got graphene or not - but yes I still think graphene has a long way to go and it will be interesting to see how it progresses!

I still do not understand the fascination of water beading. I live in a hard water area, water beading simply means the water stays on my car say when it's raining, then when it dries for example overnight i then get watermarks. That's why i think water that sheets rather than beads is a much better option as the water actually leaves the car. Water beads very pretty, but that's it.

HI Sandro 2 weeks ago I had my car graphene coated. I had to let it cure for over a week. First wash was just with pressure washer then foam with Bowdens Own SNOW JOB then rinse again with pressure washer then dry with Meguire's supreme shine drying towel. Two days later it had it's first wash with the two bucket system and Bowden's Own Nanolicious Wash firstly again washing car down completely with pressure washer. Then to finish the job I applied Bowden's Own After Glow using a damp microfibre cloth wiping dry with the Bowden's own Drop bear microfibre cloth. It looks great Is there anything else you suggest for me to use now to maintain it and what I should do. I did get some tips from the guy who did my car but I'd like to hear some from you if that's ok mate. Thank you Jeremy Downunder

I think being that every coating is a little different and I don’t have prior personal experience with your coating, I would tend to look to the advise you got from the detailer who installed it as to how best main it. In my experience most graphene coatings and sealants currently on the market are still heavily Si02 or silica based with a very small graphene percentage so I would look more towards just using a good top sealant that’s going to complement your coating rather than whether is does or doesn’t have a graphene content 🙂
