- This video is about taming an untamed angry adult male cockatiel. His name is mike, i bought it as a pair for another cockatiel but unfortunately she died. so mike was feeling lonely and i started giving him company. I became his companion. To make him feel happy i started playing music but he was refusing to come closer to my hand. So I did a lot of hard work and research. shared you some of the tips and tricks to earn your birds trust from my hard work and research. Its a long process but still i am working on it.
I never clipped the wings of mike because clipping his wings may either fasten up the process or even make the process worser. Moreover I dont like to clip a Birds wings which is the main identity of the bird...Clipping a wing of bird may even lead the bird to depression and kill it..
Hope you enjoyed the video

Hey bro i bought A new cokatail and im beginner when i grab my cokatail he bite me what can i do now??? Give me some tips for tame him
Hi I am new to your videos I have a male cocktail I bought him 7 months ago
He is a friendly and a playful cocktail, he come near me whenever I go near the cage and he talks with me ( he don't even care will I talk to him or not lol 😂 ) but the only thing is he is afraid of my hands and he doesn't eat vegetables at all ( ANY TIPS TO MAKE HIM EAT VEGGIES? )
I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S A PROBLEM OR NOT BUT WHY HIS FEATHERS ARE GETTING BROWN?????
@@salikshaikh1584 don’t grab your cockatiel it’s actually really frightening for your bird so you really shouldn’t do that because obviously he would bite you because he’s scared! He’s scared of your hand and he’s wild so please just be patient before you grab him; cockatiels especially don’t like to be grabbed so just don’t grab him YET.
@@salikshaikh1584 Please don't grab him, just give him space and contact me on insta for further info
You increased my hope and confidence so much with a cockatiel that I have fostered after it was found and never claimed. It is very scared, but has slowly allowed me to put my hand in the cage without totally panicking. I'm going to use the next steps with feeding and the stick to hopefully get him/her to trust be a bit more. Thanks so much!
OMG I can't this video is amazing and worked for me... 2 days back I got one wild cockatiel he wasn't taking food and whenever I go close to cage he used to panic but today with this method he took food from my hand
That is really great, hope it helped you
Nicely done, EAR! It s so satisfying to watch your videos. Loved the way you dealt with Mike. Looking forward to see Mike on more videos :-)

His training methods worked to my bird. So, I could tame my Cockatiel successfully & now it flies to me 🤗. Thank u !!
Was your cockatiel an adult already?
@@PentButler nope, it's 7-8 week old at that time. Do u have an adult one ?

Yea fr
Mine is elderly and was neglected by their previous owner. They cleaned cage and fed it but i think he bit them once so they never messed with him again and confined him to a small cage.. i allow my free fly time in our room and have gotten him to the point that he takes snacks from my hand after he sees me take a ' bite's first.. he has landed on my foot and my bfs head, but is still so scared of hands. I'm hoping to change that because i can tell he wants to be petted so badly some times, but he's so skiddish lol. He's only bitten us once, so we are cautious and use gloves occasionally when he's having a temper tantrum, but every now and then when he does try to bite us, he does a warning bite very gently lol. Thank you for the video. I will try doing this every day when I get home from work. I try to spend as much with him as i can, i really want to gain his trust
I can see so much of love from this message that you show your bird..I am really happy that your bird is lucky to have you.

Thank you for your help... I will put what you have taught on this tape to the test. Yesterday I was given two wild male cockatiels who were raised in an outdoor cage in Tokyo, Japan. They are now inside in a warm large cage. Already they are responding to a peaceful more quiet atmosphere, but I didn't know what to do next. They are full of fright so this will be a great challenge. But with your advice, I have hope. :) Again, arigato!
On day one my cocktail came out of it's cage and now it is day 8 he now sits on my hand ...no need of this trick because my cocktail I different 😎
This actually helped me understand more on how to train my cockatiel. Some of it i ve been doing somehow but still i got long ways to go. My cockatiel isnt hand raised so its a bit difficult that introducing ur hand part in the cage is very usefull

Very good video. Thank You. The Best one I’ve seen so far 😊 It takes time & patience & now my rescue bird trusts me. (She also doesn’t have her wings clipped) doing this technique everyday my bird will eat millet from my hand, just waiting for my perch/stick I ordered to introduce. My bird was also very scared. Since this is my first time training and having a tiel, I didn't expect the training to be speedy + the birb is wild. It bit the edge of my finger and drew blood. I'm from the Philippines👋.

I have a 4 year old adult cockatiel it's been some years since we bought him but he is still scared and when I put my hand inside the cage he runs away also I have 2 cockatiels but I only want to train 1 should I separate them?
separating them may either worsen the process of training or speeden it up...varies..
I got a cockatiel and it tries to attack me all the time. If I put my hand just near the cage he tries to attack it, if I try to give him millet by just sticking it through the bars, he attacks the millet and tries to attack me. What do I do?
Hii...Give cockatiel some personal space, upto 3 to 5 days and let it get used to the new environment.....then start training until then dont distrurb it
took me 2months to get my 6month old cockatiel to stand up patience is key and providing the bird with toys and good environment that's safe
Thats a great news before 2022
What´s Mikes favorite snack? is it corn? Our cockatiel likes spray millet, he loves it in his seed mix as well. He doesn´t like anything else. How do we find a treat, that is not part of his diet?
Love this nice training
Thanks man , I'll start doing this , mine doesn't bite its just afraid I hope he understands that I won't do anything to him

Very usefull
Tysm! My 6 months old loves pellets, hates millets, and is okay with seeds. Except from it’s old home, once she ate her own poop instead of food from her old home because she hates it there.
Hello, every bird has their own preference, sometimes birds eat their own poops thats not a problem.
What are those seeds? So atleast I have idea which one I can use for feeding him while training
I used roasted chana dal, but my suggestion is just try to identify your birds favourite seed, because taste varies for every bird...thank u for the visit
i finally think i can tame my birds. I have 2 male cockatiels. We bought them because the owners said one was a girl and we wanted to tame the babys but now im just gonna train them . Little tip? should i separate them?
Follow the steps in my video with lot of patience and you can tame it..Ping Me on Instagram
i usually give my tiels favorite food as his daily food, so if i wanna try hand feeding him should i remove his daily food supply?
Not like that give its fav snack only in hands
My birds daily food is a mixture so maybe the thing he likes the most and take that away for a bit and only put everything else then start this ... at least that’s what I’m going to do
I HAVE 1 cocktaile bird with 13 months old it was angry and it bite me when inserting my hand in to it can i hand tame my cocktaile
I have pair of cockatiel, both are very fear when i open the cage and start flying in cage, what should i do..
Spend a lot of time sitting outside the cage...
and make them trust you
This video is very helpful tue thing is that when i put my hand in the cage like u did my bird just starts hissing and only if im close to the bird he starts running away ik not sure how to do that so he gets use to us also ur bird looks just like ours xd
Hello! I want to know what the next step is, I reached the point where he would step on my open palm to reach his treats but if i move at all he freaks out and leaves. What should my next steps be? I want to be able to walk around with him in my house
If I try to get near my tiel with my hand she will either back away or she will hiss and lunge at my hand then back away. She's about 5 or 6 years old and I still can't tame her. It just makes me really upset. All she does is stay in her cage all day (unless I'm off work). Then she might come out but if I go near her she will either run away, fly around my screeching like a banshee or she will hiss at me.
Follow my steps patiently in order to earn it's trust and please contact me on insta for further help.
i have two cocktails and they are scared of me how do i train two cocktail
Training two is a bit difficult, but we can and it takes a lot of time, follow the same steps in my video
Hello, I have a male and female cockatiel. They follow each other around and they live in the living room that extends with height ceilings and windows. How is it possible for them to be trained with out flying away or getting spooked?
Also how do you make sure that the cockatiel doesn’t fly out?
hello, actually letting your cockatiel fly in a living room is good idea, but make sure you close all your windows and doors when they fly...you make sure you have a proper cage for the birds where they can sleep...training your cockatiel is a bit difficult like once they fly away they become easy prey..so just be careful in that aspect because they are tiny birds...take good care of them,,thank u for the visit
Dont you have a cage? My birds have a cage and we open the door every morning they fly around and in some time they go back in (they rnt trained yet) i reccomend buying a cage

Ive had my cockatiel for a couple years now and I still haven’t tamed him because Im so busy and I feel bad just watching him sit in his cage for years. Hope this will help tame him
Millet should only be used as a treat and never left in cage make sure your cockatiel gets plenty of vegetables fruit as feeding it seed all the time is not good for its diet and can cause issues
First I put my hands in the cage they were not afraid of my hand. I will feed them with the sunflower seeds the like to eat them I was so happy but I want to train them more they should sit in my hand so can I have some tricks to do
So I have a strange case, I don't know his past or anything, but he's afraid of my hands, perches, everything and I cannot desensitize him to those despite trying every method.
However I am able to hand feed him just about anything as long as I am physically holding it, it cannot rest in my palm or he will run away as if there is no food.
It's almost like he doesn't recognize that my hand is there when I'm specifically holding food, but if I put my hand (or his original perch that came with the cage when I bought him) in there without food he freaks out, do you have any advice?
Edit: He doesn't care about how close you get to him with anything that isn't your hands, it's been over a month and I've made almost no progress.
Kindly dont physically hold him in hand, catching a bird in hand will make it lose your trust, once you stop catching him it will be alright..I can further help you on INSTA if you want..Thank you for visit
@@EARTHEBIRDTRAINER I don't have Instagram, also I don't catch him or touch him ever
So now stop trying to introduce your hands to him, initially talk and spend time with your bird while he is inside cage, it may take a while for him to get adapted but be patient enough and make him get used to you.
Dude i will soon get cockatiels and i donnt quite know what to do to tame him any advice for taming WITHOUT millet or use something else instead of it
yes you can use sunflower seeds
This video works just have patience even if it takes you longer than what the video says. I had made all the “mistakes” like buying from a pet store , buying a pair (they tend to bond with each other and not you) and they were both at least 1 year old. I was already at the point that I was gonna buy a baby cockatiel and only really bond with that one but, now they get closer to eat , don’t fear or mind rubbing their heads with my hand and even pet them a little. Patience is key even if it takes you longer to get there don’t give up.
Update: One of them now sits in my hand to eat and is becoming more calm each time.
Thanks so much, for this valuable comment
