I found a cockatiel alone at a normal pet store when I was younger. She was fully grown, they didn’t know her age. She flew out of the cage right to me, and she’s been my little girl since. Patience and persistence. It's difficult to tame two birds at the same time, but not impossible. Try to focus on one at a time, once one of them is comfortable with you, the other will see that you're not dangerous. Try to offer a spray of millet, hold it in the corner of the cage twice a day for 5 minutes. It might take a while, but it's always possible

Hes never had a bath before (he never had the choice to as the owner used like a water bottle for his water.) so first i tried to mist him with a spray bottle, but he doesnt seem to like it. Ive given him a choice of bathing himself as he has a bowl of water in his cage i always put in fresh everyday. i just got my baby tiel , he’s 5 mos old. he’s so scared he barely ate drank any water or slept the first day. day 2 he started playing with his toys and I seen he broke one toy and was chewing through it, i calmly took it out from his beak and hand fed him :( i was so shocked but happy that he’s finally eating. I definitely took the toy down so he won’t choke. but day 3 he won’t come out his cage still. it’s okay i’m letting him get familiar ( i leave his cage door wide open so he knows it’s safe to come out). for some reason he panics or has anxiety attacks and starts looking for someone, perhaps another bird? it scares me because he runs all around the cage falling and screaming.. i don’t know what triggers him. he’s also blind out one eye he was born like that🙁 i think maybe that has something to do with it… any tips or advice ?
My cockatiels are there with me for a week , how to make them get out of the cage and be comfortable , i once brought my female cockatiel out of the cage but she was scared and kept sitting at one place eventually I had to put her back myself.
Any tips. I have a cockatiel my boy Zazu I adopted him over a year ago. He’s a rescue but is still fearful of me. I’m thinking he may never fully trust me. I’m okay if he doesn’t but I still wanna try everything that I can. He’s still scared of my hands. Won’t do step up inside the cage and I gotta try many times when he’s out of the cage. He does play a lot, get a really good diet, and has a large flight cage. I’ve noticed he’s just not very tame. Which worries me because when he does freak out he’s flew into the wall twice luckily he didn’t get hurt. He’s a sweet boy and sings. But soon as I get to close to the cage he’s on alert crest up wings close to sides and watches me like a hawk. And when he is out of the cage he sleeps in his corner, plays on the floor, or is on top of his cage singing.

Imma say how i tamed my cocktail”lemon” first thing i do is i DONT cut her wings instead i tape the first three feathers after that i trap him/her in a corner then i gently pick her/him up and put her/him down i also pet her the younger the birb the less bites you get after 30minutes at least she will allow me to pick her up by putting my finger on her belly and then she grabs me the more time you spend with your cocktail the more it will like you so yea that how i tamed lil lemon;D

You will never regret getting a hand tamed one
I absolutely adore my baby!
Initially I didnt want one, since I had a couple as a child and they were very aggressive. Hand taming makes a HUGE difference.
My little girl prefers hands and shoulders over anywhere else and demands attention and scritches all the time
So cute
My budgie was so easy to tame and now i have a cockatiel that doesn’t even let me pet her
Same lol she runs away from me 😭 she must smell my desperation 😤
I have the opposite issue. My cockatiel LOVES me & my budgie is SCARED of me, even when I go over to his cage & talk softly to him, he tries to hide. T_T It's hard cleaning my budgie's cage as he gets sooo scared. T_T My cockatiel only gets mad when I clean him out, if he's sitting in his one dish & I try to move him. Silly bird! XD
i just got my baby tiel , he’s 5 mos old. he’s so scared he barely ate drank any water or slept the first day. day 2 he started playing with his toys and I seen he broke one toy and was chewing through it, i calmly took it out from his beak and hand fed him :( i was so shocked but happy that he’s finally eating.
Wait so your alen xp how many channels do you have?
Hi
I have a wild male cockatiel and a female hand tamed one.
We are trying our best to tame the wild one but he is absolutely terrified of hands.
Its been months without success. He does however eat from hands but wont let us touch him.
What shall we do? We tried teaching him step up without success.

Just got my male Cockatiel on President’s day. He is 6 months old. He was handfed but then put in a cage so I now have to work with him. I noticed that he is becoming very cage aggressive. I can’t even get near the cage without him trying to bite me. How do I stop this?
I wanna see my birb fly free! So I'm hoping i can train it. I don't have a bird yet but I'm hoping to learn more
Imma say how i tamed my cocktail”lemon” first thing i do is i DONT cut her wings instead i tape the first three feathers after that i trap him/her in a corner then i gently pick her/him up and put her/him down i also pet her the younger the birb the less bites you get after 30minutes at least she will allow me to pick her up by putting my finger on her belly and then she grabs me the more time you spend with your cocktail the more it will like you so yea that how i tamed lil lemon;D
hi man, I have 3 tamed cockatiels. Unfortunately my dog tried to chase them as a puppy and so they didn't come out of the cage very often, how can I convince them to trust me again?
I have a cockatiel how do I train them not to bite or squawk?

She was attacked by a small jellous little parakeet in one big cake with our other birds. she looks very much mangled, and she sorta trusts me, but i dont know if our poor little now
