    _Sore!_ 🦊🤘🔥
You got it right with the title pronunciation.
Just like you fans were having so much fun with this in all concerts at the recent World Tour 2023, is a song they don't wanna left behind in any of their setlist and i love it.
When SuMetal is throwing a kick and saying _"maidens shouldn't be uderstimated",_ that refers to a japanese mob film about some boss mafia daughter before attacking someone, and if you watch the official MV, she's doing something different, this is one of the few songs we always like to recommend the official MV for first time watching, especially to avoid that intro with the breakdown spoilers.
I think you're the first one reacting to this version from PIA Arena MM 2023, you already know the background of these shows from your previous reaction.
This song came out in 2013 and you'll find not only a great MV (highly suggested) and plenty of more versions when YuiMetal was still in the group, so try it whenever you want in your own time, no need for another reaction.
They always love to show their kawaii (cute) side, especially on songs like these, but at the same time SuMetal is trying to improve when singing this song, she said she didn't mastered yet, that's why sometimes she's doing sound check with this song before live concerts during live tour, is a quintessential BM song and is always a work in progress.
Next suggestion with more of their kawaii metal side:
    - "Catch Me If You Can" with Kami Band intro live at Budokan 2014, you can find a clip safe to react at "GuilhermeCait".
Forgot to tell you, i think i saw you before, not sure if another channel on your own or with someone else, am i right?
Anyway kitsune up and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

man it seems like every song has some kind of lore to it. I love hearing that it all has more of a meaning then what is shown. SuMetal already sounds so good, I checked out the MV and she has improved so much! Im on a Podcast and will be going on some other groups Pods as well!

If I can suggest I would like to see you react to Babymetal Death, but if you do then it should be Babymetal Death Legend 1997 version not PIA, you will know why when you see it. #notacult
Other suggestions are Road of Resistance, BxMxC or Headbanger (Legend 1997 version).

Great version to react to never get tired of Megitsune, especially being at a show .
The surge from the fans literally lifts you off your feet .
I jumped as Su said, and the crowd surged forward. I was a couple inches off the floor wedged in between fans for a few moments they did jumping for me 😂 Su's voice in the intro sounds haunting as if being called to prayer they obviously enjoy performing it by their smiles during it and missed here by cameras the interaction between the 3 of them . Moa is trying to make Su laugh, but it is getting more elaborate all sorts of shnagaings going on even the band joining in much to the Amusement of fans ❤❤❤

You're in the foxhole now. There is no way back from here.
I was in the crowd at this show yelling "Sore!". Megitsune always goes off when they perform it in Japan. Babymetal shows in Japan don't allow audience members to record. They have strict rules against it and there are lots of warnings posted before the show begins, and security are watching during the performance to ensure that no-one is cheating.
This was the second song of the night. They opened with "The Legend". Over the course of the two nights, they played all the songs on the new album.
The Fox God is the god of metal who inspires Babymetal and commanded them to lead the metal resistance; Su-metal is the Champion of the Fox God. Babymetal has a whole complex ongoing narrative that runs through their albums and live performances. Each major concert they do is a new chapter in the story.
Megitsune is a girl power song that pushes back against the social expectations of women in Japanese culture. In many ways, it is the quintessential Babymetal song because it combines the cute and the metal, as well as honoring Japanese culture while simultaneously rebelling against it.

Babymetal shows are exhausting. I can tell how much you enjoyed the song by the smile on your face and yes, there is always a pit going xd. I guess your favorite will be the song you just listened to 😂
I wish the no phone rule would exist everywhere. As you said, people that are smaller or in the back have to watch the concert through someone else’s phone…not the ideal experience.
Only the big shows in Japan have those intense intros. They are usually recorded and later released on dvd and blue-ray. In their usual shows the crowd is just as hyped and doesn’t need that xd.
Next “Ijime, Dame, Zettai” live at Sonisphere 2014, please :) 🤘🔥🦊

Yeah, tell me about binge watching or listening to BABYMETAL songs, haha...
"Megitsune" is one of their most loved songs (usually tops fan favorite song polls) and it's their most played live one (334 times till date).
It was the second song after "THE LEGEND" at BABYMETAL Begins - Black Night. "THE LEGEND" as an opening number is a rarity and it's very specific of their three first concerts in 2023... but you will discover it later.
Not a cultural thing, filming or taking pictures is strictly forbidden at BABYMETAL shows in Japan.
About the mask, they pick up it back right after Su throws it. The mask itself is pricey (don't ask me how I know it 😁), but it happened before that the mask ended in the crowd and then, sold online for a crazy amount and I suppose Kobametal (their producer) wasn't happy with it.
The "Fox God" is the main part of their lore. This entity is supposed to be the responsible of giving them their "metal" names and also named them "BABYMETAL", which means the born of a new heavy metal sub-genre, and gave them the mission "to make the world become ONE with heavy metal". They (and the fans) do the fox sign all the time, instead of the devil's horns. It originated when the girls were trying to do the devil horns and ended up doing the fox, like in a shadow play.
A few more facts about "Megitsune":
    - The style sub-genre is called electronicore, a mix between electronica and metalcore with a hardcore style breakdown.
    - That breakdown hits hard and the melody is from a Japanese folk song called "Sakura Sakura" (Cherry Blossoms).
    - The word "Megitsune" = "me" + "kitsune" which means female + fox so, vixen. Hence the "kitsune" mask play.
    - In Japanese folklore, the "kitsune" is an entity able to transfigure into a human form (mainly into a young lady form) with the objective to deceive men and cause them pain. So they sing that they aren't "kitsunes" but "megitsunes", "pure-hearted maiden-like female foxes", as the lyrics say. So yes, "Megitsune" can be considered a female empowering song.
    - BABYMETAL fans are known collectively as "The ONE" and "kitsune" / "megitsune" individually. So, you can tell this song is important!
    - It took 36 demos to Takehiro Mamiya best known as Yuyoyuppe (or Yuppemetal), the song's arranger, until Koba was 100% happy with the final result. It may sound crazy but this is why "Megitsune" is one of their best songs (if not the best).
    Until next time!
    🤘🦊

Most of their merch, like that mask, is produced in limited quantities and now it's discontinued and a collector's item. But you can still find some from other collectors or pro sellers. I just did a quick search and found one for $133 plus shipping (from Japan), taxes, etc.

'Megitsune' often tops fan polls for their favourite song - it is also arguably the song that showcases better than most what BABYMETAL are about and one that truly reflects their Japanese culture the best starting with the traditional instruments (shamisen or koto, you decide which) in the intro and the lyrics about women being compared to foxes (kitsune - which also explains why Su had the fox mask in the breakdown) which, in Japanese mythology, are able to shape shift and take human form in order to deceive.
As I understand it, it is a bit of a push back against the traditional female role in Japanese society - or maybe it is - whilst also praising and celebrating the women who have played that role over the years for their strength.
They are saying that women wearing their make up and hiding their true feelings ("crying at heart, smiling at face") are not trying to deceive anybody, they are simply trying to please everybody - so they are not deceptive kitsune (foxes), they are maiden-like megitsune (female foxes or vixens) or actresses - and they are strong.
The melody used in the breakdown with the pig squeals in the middle of the song is from the very well known Japanese folk song called 'Sakura Sakura' (Cherry Blossoms).
When Su spoke a few words and did a high kick she said "Otome wa ... nametara ikan zeyo." (Maidens ... shouldn't be underestimated). The last part of this is a famous quote from a Japanese gangster movie said by the daughter of a gang boss.

great reaction dude, you couldn't see the little thing that a few fans are doing during the intro, which is sitting on the floor doing the rowing the boat action, most likely steeped in Nordic folk metal, but also maybe in the event that our society falls backward with technology are we must transport these golden maidens around the world by boat, spreading the message of love while protecting the soul of metal...lol btw checkout "From Dusk Till Dawn" Live at Budokan 2021, it will blow your mind.

Babymetal know how to deliver a live performance, when we go see a Babymetal show, we don't wonder if Babymetal will be good, but we wonder: will it be a great crowd that also joins in with Babymetal, like the jumping in this song. Because that kind of atmosphere is something else, you can't get it anywhere else I'm aware of. And if the audience is less great, the show/vibe is less great.

    • @autohmae
      @autohmae 8 месяцев назад +1

Recording on your phone is definitely cultural. If you see Japanese crowd, they don't, in part because they follow rules and it's not allowed.
In Europe we see more phones, but the most phones we see in the US.
The part about crying at heart and not showing tears is both great and sad. Great, because it shows conviction and the power of these women in Japanese culture, but also sad, because trying to solve problems on your own isn't the best way.

Great reaction again and glad you are enjoying the BM journey down the Foxhole! If you love seeing a great crowd like this then mainly stick with the big Japan shows like this and their "Legend" concerts, I believe they have 1 or 2 a year, usually becoming an awesome BluRay that is a must buy 😄. Fans can correct me if I'm wrong but I think having phones out during concerts there is considered very disrespectful and maybe even not allowed. I think this is amazing and feel US and EU fans are nonsense for 80% people having phones out and not even fully enjoying a show. I'm pretty sure performers like BM feel more connected with fans live when just fully enjoying the show without a phone out. The BM World tour in 2023 was a pretty big success overall being sold out and the fan base overall great. Not surprising the US shows had the less engaging crowds, some were great but overall not impressive. Now the EU shows the fans were pretty damn good, of course nothing comes close to the Japan shows as you see. Keep up with the BM reactions, I'm here for them all! 😄🦊🤘

You know, when the intro this song was played at all the World Tour venues the crowd was really hyped 🔥🔥🔥
Regarding phones, I personally don't have a problem with people recording during concerts, because my focus is on watching the concert and singing along, not on seeing people holding their phones (you know what I mean). As long as the BM and Promoter don't issue a ban, it's not a problem (for me)🤘🏻🦊
Btw if you want to see people who are still enjoying the concert and recording the concert you can see during the BM World Tour in Jakarta, almost the whole crowd was singing along with Su and MoMoa🤘🏻🦊 And I'm so happy to be one of the crowd. I am glad you are enjoying your BABYMETAL journey.
The Fox God is the fictional deity of BABYMETAL and BM has a fantasy-scifi story and lore behind it.
Megitsune wasn't the intro of the Black Night concert, but their song The Legend was. The song featured only Su and Moa as Black Night was the last concert with only two of them as apart of BABYMETAL, and the lore in the concert was essentially the death and rise of a new BABYMETAL where at the end Momo became the third member.
Phones are strictly prohibited at these proshot concerts. When Monochrome was first performed back last January, it really confused the crowd when Su told everyone to take out their phone as they had just previously been told to keep it in their pocket. You will see a lot more phones out at festivals and such. As for intros, it largely depends not only on the song, but the performance of the song.
