There isn't really anyone else who puts on a performance quite like Babymetal. When you go to a Babymetal show, you don't just go to watch it, you go to be a part of the performance, so everyone in the crowd is there to give 100% energy. I was lucky enough to be at this show to see it live and it was absolutely magical. Of all the Babymetal shows that I have seen, it's still my favourite. This performance was with the Kami Band of the West, which is Chris Kelly on guitar, CJ Masciantonio on guitar, Clint Tustin (guitarist of ERRA) on bass, and Anthony Barone (drummer of All That Remains) on drums. Babymetal's guitarists use seven and eight string guitars for all their songs and a lot of them have drop tunings. The heavy low guitars creates a real contrast with Su-metal's soaring vocals.
Welcome back to the Foxhole and now with the new metalverse era🦊🤘🌐 I don't remember following your BM journey but it's cool to see more reactors and old BM fans coming back to watch more of this amazing group. Monochrome is another beautiful track from latest album, it was the 2nd single released in November 2022 and there's an official lyrics video really cool if you wanna enjoy the studio album version, later in 2023 right before this concert you just saw they released the Piano Version at The First Take surprising everyone with another stunning and beautiful one off stripped down version you already saw.. The lyrics got some Norse mythology reference and when the lyrics vid came out there were many theories around, later they said they were surprised about it and saying they just wanna give a hopeful song. Here's some official info: _"One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is MONOCHROME and this 2nd pre-release digital single “Monochrome” centers around this theme. From the eyes of the children, what color were the monochrome fireworks lighting up in the night sky? This song expresses the hopeful wish on Ragnarok, which signifies doomsday in Norse mythology, twinkling across the starry skies in rainbow colors."_ This was live at BabyMetal Begins - PIA Arena MM Clear Night, Yokohama on April 2, MomoMetal first concert as an official member (she's the new official member after YuiMetal left the group in 2018), you can notice SuMetal speaking to them in the middle section and giving that recognition. They got this magical moment when performing live in every setlist they did throughout the recent World Tour 2023, and we'll definitely gonna see more this year. The composer behind this song is the same one behind Karate, Rondo Of Nightmare, Kagerou, the arrangement of Megitsune and also behind Believing from this same latest album, you should really not miss those songs. About Megitsune: It's one of their early era songs released in 2013 when YuiMetal was still in the group so i suggest you to check it out the official MV or the live at Budokan 2014 if you don't remember about this quintessential BM song and among fans favorite. Next suggestion: - MAYA live at PIA Arena MM 2023 official MV. - Divine Attack live at PIA Arena MM 2023 official MV. . Like SuMetal said at the end of Monochrome: "Just smile".🙂 Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🌈
Good double reaction, thanks and welcome back! Definitely you can't go wrong with PIA Arena live performances. I still regret not going to see these concerts last year. Yes, you need to see them live. And they don't even need these big stages, they kill it every time. I've seen them in even bigger arenas (17.000) and in smaller venues (2.500) and they are always amazing. 🤘🦊
Great double "first" reaction.🦊🤘There really is nothing like a live BABYMETAL concert, you would be missing out on one of the very best live bands and live shows you might ever see if you didn't go to see them live when you have a chance. The big Japanese arena shows are incredible with the complex, huge moving stages, all the pyro, lasers and so on, but even when they strip it back for the more modest venues as they tour the world they are incredible performers and never give less than 100% for every song at every show. You said you have listened to them before, but never seen their live performances. If that is true you have been missing out on so much of what they are about. Their studio recordings and official videos etc are all very good, but until you see and hear their songs being performed live you are only getting maybe 40% of what they are. Do yourself a favour, find live performances of all the songs you have heard and all the songs you haven't heard (there are about 70 now) and see what you have been missing out on.🤘🦊
Absolutely well said! These live performances were on another level, so I can't wait to check out their other live performances. And I will be on the lookout to go to a show myself as well 🤟
BabyMetal live is incredible. You said you hadn't seen live before so I assume you haven't seen the earlier performances which have a more frenetic energy and enthusiasm feel than the more 'grown up' polished versions from more recently. They're all wonderful. For older lives check Headbanger Legend 1997 Apocalypse (2013) and Road Of Resistance official live (2015). Both show their amazing stage presence and crowd interaction even in their mid teens.
Seen both these songs at shows a lot 😁 Monochrome 3 times and Megitsune 5 times . Monochrome not on the scale of this apart from at Wembley Arena . One day maybe this year i will get to Japan if i get a ticket to big a show 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Or maybe next year... (from RollingStone interview with Koba): "Regarding BABYMETAL, this FOX_FEST will actually be their last headlining tour in JAPAN in 2024. There are some things that haven't been announced yet for 2024, but we have a lot of overseas tours scheduled for summer and beyond. We won't be performing live in Japan for a while, so if you're a BABYMETAL fan in Japan or have been wanting to see us, please don't miss out." I'm also expectant. 😁
This song is great on so many levels. It was amazing live. Thanks for posting this on your channel. "Maya" was spectacular live also; blew the roof off the joint!!
Great selection to play together. Megitsune and Monochrome were on night 1 and night 2 at this PIA Arena performance. You called it right at the end there commenting on the difference with experiencing Babymetal live. They always give 100%+ and yeah they put a special emphasis in having parts of their songs the audience can participate in. And as you saw REALLY participate! Don't know when you had last watched Babymetal but it seems like you got the point that they have grown into a more mature sound but have lost none of the positivity they are so well loved for. I'd like to suggest ""Metal Kingdom" from this same concert. It has sooooo much more power and excitement to it than the MV of the song-at least to me. It is epic. (link follows): ruclips.net/video/xd-lswJ2e3k/видео.html
Thanks for the song suggestion! And thank you for stopping by! I will certainly have BABYMETAL back on very soon and I will add your song to my list! 🤟😁
ありがとう! If you have a chance, please check out the music video (lyric video) of Monochrome and the Piano version of "The First Take". Although the songs are the same, you will get different impressions from each of them. BABYMETAL performed 98 shows (excluding festivals) in 25 countries in 2023. Although the band mainly performs live, the music videos have a different appeal. 🔥🤘🦊 From🇯🇵
Monochrome is a slightly unususäl song. If we consider that its theme are the first atom bomb drops but since even Su had this problems and she is from Hiroshima... the important part of this Song. This Momoko's first day as the new Babymetal. A Day before she was only an Avenger, so when Su calls her and Moa she keeps her distance. But as the third member she has to come closer, like a sister. It was one of the Highlights on their World Tour. In Los Angeles Su brought her own phone, while Moa remembered her real talent, why should she use her phone? She asked simply their own camera guy if she could get their camera for some time and then in Japan she would only need an USB Stick. And Megitsune is their inofficial Hymn . The inversion of an old folk tale was forvthe girls their first song where Kobametal hit their hearts. And If I look at them today I don't think that they have any plans to end their careers with thirty. They are surrounded by highly qualifiedcwomen and they grew up for huge parts outside of Japan. They don't have ehe typical japanese Woman no longer in their body. They are used to fight and defend. I don't think that they could even try to behave this way nowadays.
WOW AMAZING INSIGHT! Thank you for the very deep and thoughtful message. I will certainly be checking more Babymetal out and learn more on the journey 🤟
I LOVE there's no phones out until she calls for them (kinda sick of seeing Western concerts with half the audience more focused on recording stuff than watching the performance) - and how quickly they go down again when the song is over. One of their best tracks imo - I just wish they could sometimes make sets like this in other countries - they're the best ambassador for Japan they've ever had I think - they should be declared a national treasure and get support to do a few of these shows abroad 😂. Great reaction to an astonishingly talented and unique group - including everyone from the band and stage managers to the lighting, choregrapher, song writers etc etc and of course - the girls and their wonderful audiences :)
Thanks for the reactions! These are some of the best concerts they have ever had as they seem to improve everything with each new concert. BABYMETAL live is a lot of fun. My next suggestions would be Road of Resistance and Divine Attack, both same PIA Arena 2023. Road of Resistance: ruclips.net/video/4XYMvGJy1JI/видео.html Divine Attack: ruclips.net/video/gpHoXlHIHyU/видео.html

For sure, Babymetal live hits different. Nothing really like it. They were the first ever to introduce choreographed dance in metal.
Experiencing Monochrome live is something else!
It's definitely on my list of shows I really want to go to now! 🤟💯
Great 🤘🤘
3:33- There is almost always dancing and crowd participation, you need to see more.

Try "first take monochrome", and "from dusk to dawn" for next level vocals, then bxmxc live for metal wrap and several octave sliding notes, etc.....
