It works hahaha. I spilled a bit of green tea on my Mac, but I reacted really fast. I’ve put it upside down, turned it off and dried it with a towel. Then I‘ve waited 24 hours and turned it on. Everything okay, no damage! Thanks god 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
My laptop died yesterday after I spilled water on it. I tried the "tent pose" method, left it overnight ... and this morning (I couldn't wait 48 hours bc it's my work computer) it was good as new. So, it is possible! Thank you!
THIS WORKS! Yesterday, I accidentally spilled some water on my keyboard and the screen went completely black, I stupidly tried to turn it on, but it didn't work on so I figured a short circuit has already occurred and that I am forced to go to Apple to fix it. Luckily, after watching this video, I kept it in the "tent" position for around 14 hours, and when I turned it on it worked perfectly fine!!
spilled water on my macbook air while it was on right near the speakers and where it folds. macbook instantly turned off. i followed the instructors, and 32 hours later, it worked. 1.) i instantly dried the computer off with a towel. I accidentally tried turning it on, which i did not know i wasn't supposed to, and it did not turn on. 2.) i put my laptop in an inverted V. left it near a window in the sun for 32 hours. 3.) prayed super hard. 4.) waited til night time when computer was physically cooled to try turning on. it worked one thing i noticed is that my battery gets hotter quicker, which is expected since there might be some battery damage. other than that, my macbook seems perfectly normal as if nothing happened. my battery life also seems to be unaffected, but i expect my battery life will deteriorate at a faster rate. hopefully your macbook works for you and that you learned a lesson like i have 😭

Bruh i dont want to waste my money on this trashy mackbook from school, well it worth 500 so rip. So theres hope?
I almost lost it as soon as I found out water damage isn't covered by AppleCare+. I followed all the steps and my MacBook seems to be working in very good condition with no problems so far. Thank you so much!
I pathologically avoid problems so I've only watched this a week after water damage. My screen has started randomly changing colours when watching things. Praying for the best huns x
i had mine checked out and surprisingly he told me there was no damage at all on anything. i spilled half of my water bottle and even had it on for like fifteen minutes. but i did turn it off and laid the screen on the table with the keyboard hanging and i had my fan blowing on the keyboard for four days straight!
oh my hod this comment gives me hope! in my case i spilled half the bottle of water and my dumbass keeps playing the game for minutes until my i got blue screen
@@handsygirl omg! i was so surprised when he told me there was no damage but i did notice during my research that distilled water has less damage and i had it powered off for days and now it works perfectly fine still
I tried the tent thing for two days and it didn’t turn on so I was just going to wait until the weekend to try again. I’m really praying it turns on because I did act fast and made sure all the water came out before putting it in the tent position to dry
i did the same thing i jsut wiped up all the water on the keyboard and started watching hxh and it started flickering and turned off and i started shaking it 😁

i’m trying this right now, but i feel like it won’t open then something is gonna happen to me also i have homework for online classes. :( so prey for me plsss!!!!
This works!! I accidentally spilled some water on my keyboard and immediately wiped it off with some paper towels but the screen went black. I actually tried to turn the laptop back on a few times to see if it would work.. didnt know I wasnt supposed to do that. I left it in the tent position or two days anyways and it works just fine now. UPDATE my laptop is still working fine!!!
I saw this video AFTER I turned on my laptop from a water spill.... I tried to turn on my laptop 4 hours after a water spill, I heard the sound from turning it on, then my laptop immediately died. I thought I caused damage to the circuit.... I tried the tips from the video like setting a towel under my laptop. I modified the laptop placement, and used a 90 degree angle. Finally after 2 days of waiting, IT WORKSSSSS. so grateful, and i will be more careful about having liquids around. Lesson leared.
I spilled a lot on my 2021 M1 about 2 hours ago. I did about everything right in this video. Thank god my housemate had a screwdriver to open the chassis. I’m praying there’s no long term damage 😢😢
@@bhumikasharma3770 yes, it never stopped working which was great. I found a guy in my city who found some corrosion on some parts and was quick to fix it.
@@CSRLaunchpadomg im so scared cos i dropped lucozade and it stopped working Its not even a lot but still i am afraid. Ive left it to dry (for three days) 🤲🏾 fingers crossed man
@@j.k.4489 Ah shit, I'm sorry to read that mate. The problem with fizzy drinks like Lucozade is that because they are higher in acidic content, they can corrode the parts a lot more easily, whereas water is a bit harder to corrode the parts. Because yours isn't turning on, I would strongly recommend taking it to a computer repair shop ASAP and seeing if you can get all the data off of it at the very least. You might have to have the whole logic board replaced (which I'm sorry to say is not cheap), or you might just have to buy a brand new one altogether. If that's the case, I hope it's not going to be an issue. At least Black Friday is around the corner, so you might like to take advantage of that.
@@CSRLaunchpad 😭😭🥲 its super worrying. Basically, after i dropped the lucozade i quickly got rid of the drink as much as i can and i even sucked the drink with my mouth from the keyboard, i then used it for 10 minutes and the screen went black and wasnt working properly. So i couldnt tell if it was on or off, after watching this i let it in the air thinking i turned it off. Two days later i didnt realise i left it on, but I clicked it and its working. But i turned it off for now because i am still worried init and playing it safe, I am currently on holiday so i got to wait till next week to get it checked :/ I hope its just working fine but unfortunately i have to get it checked just in case. I have insurance but unsure if it covers liquid ☝🏾 i hope it is fine tho, it seems fine but it seems to good to be true
i spilled on mine and did this for two days. it worked. this happened two months ago. it worked a bit weird at first (it glitched) but now it works normally.
This my frand, really works. Saved my laptop. I was calm when it happened and quickly looked up video on what to do first. So lucky this video popped up first. Thank you for sharing knowledge sir! By the way, I accidentally spilled half cup of my iced coffee...ICED COFFEE!worse than water. Be patient everyone, really wait after 48 hours.
I just spilled water on my Mac. Left it in tent position for 24 hours. Did you remove the battery and put in tent position for 2 days or without battery removal. If you could reply please
i got liquid in the charger port but not the actual computer if that makes sense. it works completely fine, it just doesn’t charge. any idea on what to do?
You should avoid the tent position because by putting the laptop in this position you risk that gravity spreads the liquid to other parts of the motherboard or screen
I tell you, this really works!!! I was the stupidest, I put sprayed alcohol to sanitize my screen (I thought screen protector really protects it from getting wet inside). Tiny droplets went to the narrow side of the screen. Afterwards, when I opened my Mac, I saw that almost half of my screen was wet inside. I panicked. I even watched this vid using my MB, then when the guy on the vid told to shut off my Mac, I immediately did everything he said. I still opened the Mac twice to get my files for work. Then waited for 2 days to open the gadget again. The screen was okay, but there are very small number of water in it (tiny), so I continued for third day. The screen is okay now. I am typing this comment using my Mac. :)
@@kibby1874 suggestively, more than 3 days depending on how severe it is. My MB is still okay now. Nah, I didn't use any, but some say that fan would be helpful, too.
i dont know if anyone will see this but I recently just spilled juice on my keyboard and mousepad and they're both working completely fine. the only thing i have a problem is my mousepad's silent click, it doesn't click anymore but the mousepad works completely fine. I turned it off right after I spilled it and wiped it off then tilted it right after but it's still not working. I couldn't wait for a day because summer school literally just started fo rme and have like 3 quizzes due the next day.
My keyboard also has a protecting covering on top of it and I'm currently using an external mouse. Should I just turn it off and wait for 2 days even though I already turned it back on again?
Hey everyone I'm gonna tell you exactly what happened to me. It will give you hope! On March 3rd, 2022 I spilled a ton of water on my brand spanking new MacBook Pro, Apple M1, 14 in. I had knocked over my 21 oz Hydro Flask and she was filled to the brim folks. It spilled straight on the keyboard. I yelled (neighbors probably heard me) and on instinct I immediately unplugged it, turned it over and ran to get napkins. My heart was palpating and I had 20 minutes to get to work. After soaking up the water, I tried shutting it down, which wasn't easy considering it was upside down. Then the damn thing turned on again because as soon as you press any key it turns on again. Argh!! I shut it down again and then just left it like that. After work I came home and tentatively tried to turn it on to check (don't do that) and it wouldn't turn on! I was devastated. Next morning I looked up a ton of RUclips videos, including this one 🙏 I decided my best chance was to leave my Macbook Pro upside down, in the triangle or "A" position, by an open door. I have a back door and I left it right there so it could receive cool air. I don't own a fan btw. Exactly 76 hours later, which is around 3 and a half days later after the water incident, I tried to turn it on and it worked! Omg I was so relieved! It did act a little funny at first: some random text appeared in the corner and I had some weird gibberish files on the desktop? But otherwise it's unchanged! Now, I use my computer for work so it needs to function at all times during presentations and other important things so I did purchase a new computer. Sure, the old computer still works, but I don't trust it in the long term or with important work files. Water damage as I've come to learn takes it's toll over time. Here's what I think ultimately worked to my benefit: -first I turned it upside down immediately and waited the minimum of 3 days. If I had let that water sit for even a minute more, who knows what could've happened -secondly I live in the desert. The air here is extremely dry and I believe it sped up the drying process. Hope this helps! And may your cup never runneth over near your computer again. ❤
just spilled water next to it and it went in the speakers i guess , it showed block sign on my volume settings and the screen went all weird so now it’s in the tent position
I spilled about half of my waterbottle onto my laptop and it immediately didnt work, my dumbass tried to see if it would work to charge it and shake water out of it when i dried it, now i have it in the tent pose pray for me i literally do everything on my laptop and need it for school later 😭

Spilled almost a half gallon of water on my m1 pro about 5 minutes ago. I have it unplugged, powered off, and in the tent. The only issue I see so far is a funky trackpad but the keyboard has no issues. I’ll be back soon to update Edit: 10 hours later in the tent position, powered off, keyboard and trackpad no longer function. Edit 2(electric boogaloo): Sat it next to a heater in tent position for a while, keyboard and trackpad fully function.
Guys dont worry, even if your laptop blanks out, this fix might work. It did for me! Just wait for a day plus (48 Hrs). Whatever you have spilled doesn't matter, clean ur laptop > dry it out > turn it around > wait > then check!
I spilled 600ml of water on my whole macbook in my bag last night. Only realised it 4 hours later. Been doing everything he said and my macbook is now in the tent position. Been waiting for 10 hour ish now, but i did move it abit last night. Hope it works, will update!!!
I have the new MacBook Air. My laptop got really wet and I used a towel to try to soak up the water. My keyboard and mousepad was not working at all. I restarted it and got a hairdryer to evaporate the water. The keyboard and mousepad was still unresponsive but I continued with the blow dryer and restarted it again. After a few minutes everything is operational. It’s currently in the tent position and off and I will check on it Friday
I sprayed some lens cleaner inadvertently on my keyboard and screen went black. Because it wasn't much liquid, I did use the hair dryer method and it was immediately restored. For larger amounts of liquid, I can see how that wouldn't work.
oh hey, so I actually figured it out! Basically if I opened my computer all the way it would turn on. So, I powered it off then right after I opened it but not far enough for it to turn on. Then I just left it like in that mountain pose for about 3-4 days. I would check on it often to see if it would still turn on by itself. Once it stopped turning on by itself I just started using it again and it’s perfectly fine now. but also it depends on how much water was spilled and if you can open it to a point where it won’t turn on. Hopefully that helps? Ik it’s kinda confusing
Hi, I'm back here to give updates since I did drowned my MAC 2 days ago.. I am typing from the said MAC aftr following everything he said. ASAP as soon as my MAC was swimming in half glass of water I was drinking nearby, I did check out this video in 5 mins and did everything. I think the tent up position helped lots and not touching it and letting it air dry works well. I also did wrapped it in newspaper to absorb the water in. Now, I'm just observing if there are any changes now. So far it's just a lil bit heated up. WIll be checking its operations once I start to charge and use it as I did before. Will try to udpate this again if anything. SO THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I did spilt wine my old MAC last yr, there wasn't a video like this then. (I did the rice thing but opened it too early and charged it too soon.) Sadly it didnt survive. This yr i shall learn my lesson as this is my 2nd time.
spilled some water on my macbook about two days ago, the keyboard wasn’t working so i did the tent thing (shown in the video) for slightly over 48hrs and it worked, only problem is that the touchpad doesn’t work anymore but i have a mouse so it’s fine, just glad it works again :)

i dried my mac with dryer instantly and took apart battery and other part and dry the water with clothes. while drying with dryer keyboard cover melted but letter work fine. i switch off and after dry turn it on. never wait more than 15 mins. it work. after that no issue on my mac. this was 3yrs ago.
I spilt a tiny bit of coffee on the mouse pad part of my MacBook Air 2020 about 45 mins ago. I screamed, quickly wiped it off, turned it over in tent position and turned it off! But it kept on turning itself back on! Eventually, after I force quit every thing that was open, I was able to shut it down(I hope it still is!). I also wiped with ever so slightly damp (really not wet at all) kitchen towel a few times to make sure outside completely dry and not sticky). I’ve left it to dry in the tent position now, turned off , but worried because it was turning itself on that will have caused permanent damage. 😢
There was a buzzing sound coming from my MacBook Pro.Then the fan started to spin very fast and my Mac was lagging a lot. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
same with mine. for the noise of fan. unplug the battery and just turn it on with charger. once it turn on noise will be gone. later plug the battery. everything work fine. this is solution of fan noise and battery sign not shown after liquid spilled.
Yes this happened to me but I shut it of and turned it in upside down like the pyramid shape he said to do. I left it like that for 40 sec - 60 sec.
You should avoid the tent position because by putting the laptop in this position you risk that gravity spreads the liquid to other parts of the motherboard or screen
Oh damn okay
Well you're too darn late. I already did that
I tell you, this really works!!! Video - Don't boot for 48 hours!
*Me watching this Video on the mac*
Next morning I looked up a ton of RUclips videos, including this one 🙏
I decided my best chance was to leave my Macbook Pro upside down, in the triangle or "A" position, by an open door.
Here's what I think ultimately worked to my benefit:
-first I turned it upside down immediately and waited the minimum of 3 days. If I had let that water sit for even a minute more, who knows what could've happened
-secondly I live in the desert. The air here is extremely dry and I believe it sped up the drying process.
Hope this helps! And may your cup never runneth over near your computer again. ❤

Hey is it working now ?
I have the new MacBook Air. My laptop got really wet and I used a towel to try to soak up the water. My keyboard and mousepad was not working at all. I restarted it and got a hairdryer to evaporate the water. The keyboard and mousepad was still unresponsive but I continued with the blow dryer and restarted it again. After a few minutes everything is operational. It’s currently in the tent position and off and I will check on it Friday
Please let me know what happens - thanks.

Aurgo, i apologize for the late response
Mdk Mdj yes it works!! The only thing is, the keyboard takes a little while to connect when I turn it on. Other than that, everything works perfectly
Also, I think my battery dies faster than usual. But it could be that I’m using it heavily and have a lot of applications open
What if you did this during the coronavirus
I did :(, with chocolate milk, from a school computer, i need hellppp, i cant tell my mom, she is gonna kill me:(
Mdk Mdj try to soak out the liquid the best you can, use a hairdryer on low heat and leave it in the tent position for a few days
@Mdk Mdj Sammme but I did it with nail varnish remover, my mum get suspicious will ask why am not using it for two days😭
I was watching Anna opp and I klutzfully spilled my whole cup of tea ;·
I sprayed some lens cleaner inadvertently on my keyboard and screen went black. Because it wasn't much liquid, I did use the hair dryer method and it was immediately restored. For larger amounts of liquid, I can see how that wouldn't work.
Air conditioner blows dry cold air, that helps to dry the keyboard
My computer keeps turning back on when I turn it off??
oh hey, so I actually figured it out!
I opened it what's going to happen😭😭

I am typing from the said MAC aftr following everything he said.
